is it not obvious that if we're taking about a revenue neutral tax change, that the same amount of money gets drawn out of the economy for government purposes? The difference is that the tax base gets spread to include the underground economy, tourists, illegal immigrants and others. As I sit here digging through paperwork to start trying to prepare for tax preparation, I resent the hell out of the current system and those who deny us an opportunity to scrap it completely.
the elaborate and enormous eloquence in ItchMyFoot's comments is clearly sufficient for all of us to give a crap that city and state bureaucrats might have to include taxes in their budgets just like normal, regular folks. I think we can see who the real moron ... someone with an agenda who is willing to turn a blind eye to the numerous benefits that would ensue from converting from a tax on productivity to one on consumption.
We don't have to be stuck with a lousy tax system. If dumb fucks like you had a fucking clue, if people were not so easy to fool as your dumb ass, we could have a simple fair tax code.
But that sure as fuck isn't Farce tax. You sure as fuck don't have sane tax plan when they hide the biggest part of it in ONE sentence, out of a million. Guess what dumb ass, you have been fooled buy bullshit liars.
Why the fuck do you think they hid this absurdity, tard? Really, Y did they hide this?
You say you have spoken publically for five years about Fairtax?
So what? Why not take five minutes and learn what you are talking about. Garbage in, garbage out.
If all you inhaled was garbage, that is all you could exhale. Get a clue, Fairtax has hidden a massive absurd tax on city and state governments FOR A REASON. The reason is, they knew it was nonsense.
So. Because bad things happen to SOME people we must all be stuck with a crappy tax system that steals from us instead of one that lets us voluntarily make a choice to pay based on our purchasing habits? I must have 25 or 30% taken out first and then buy stuff (including RENT) instead of paying a sales tax on products and services at point of sale? Government units might have to pay taxes?!! OMG - I feel so sorry for them. Not.
@sshepard94 Governments wont pay taxes, tard. Got that? First, it's goofy, they would have to raise the crap out of their taxes. Got that? Second, it's unconstitutional. The Federal government can not possibly tax city and state governments. Got that yet?
WHy do you think Fairtax has hid this? Hid the biggest source of revenue? Why do you think they didn't mention it on page one, or 1,000, or one million? Why mention it in the fine print, where they knew no one would read it.
@ItchMyFoot it is at least a step towards a more voluntary system and eliminates all kinds of gobs of paperwork. File a one inch thick tax return that costs thousands of dollars just to prepare, then let us talk about what is a farce and what isn't.
@sshepard94 sure, sure, I was in LOVE with Fairtax for that reason.
I know the "plus" parts. But you arent grasping what I am saying. Fairtax is a FUCKING FARCE. Yes it sounds good. Of course it sounds good, moron. Yes it sounds good. Got that yet? It SOUNDS GREAT>
BUT ITS A FUCKING FARCE. Google Fairtax Fine print, and get an education. Learn what you don't know.
@ItchMyFoot I have read the bill and spoken about the Fairtax publicly and on radio for around 5 years. And I can put up a web site that says whatever I want or highlights whatever negatives about any subject I desire just like anyone else. I am not gong to let "perfect" be the enemy of "better". Please don't call me a moron. If you have specific points to highlight, please do so and we can debate them.
There is nothing voluntary about it. You gotta be kidding. Cancer patients must pay 100K in sales tax on their average battle with breast cancer, for example. How is that voluntary?
Oh, you mean cause you can buy used stuff? Ever hear of used rent?
Ever hear of used chemotherapy? Ever hear of used surgery?
City and states must pay this on their WAGES paid. Ever hear of used wages?
I'm all in favor of the FairTax. The transition might be rough, though. We might have 5 percent inflation, but the increase in take home pay will more than make up for it. After a couple years, everyone will be better off with the FairTax. We'll wonder why it took us so long.

@sshepard94 Fairt enough. Aside from the fact that Fairtax is literally a farce, let's see the specific parts that make it a farce.
A massive hidden tax on city and state government would make it a farce. Did you know that this massive tax exists? Did you know why it's hidden?
What kind of plan has a trillion dollar revenue stream HIDDEN in once sentence? What kind of plan hides it's main source of revenue?
I will tell you what kind, a farce kind. Google Fairtax fine print.
