Hahaha - That comment lasted a long time! Zappa was a true composer, He was loved in rock, jazz, classical, all music circles. Elvis was good at what he did but he was no Frank Zappa.. Zappa was a musical genius!! Elvis was a bluesy pop icon, like Justin Bieber... (ok, that was below the belt, so sorry) I really liked that Elvis meets Nixon movie though! If you didn't see it put it on your list!!
@dreamwad1 And we are all very glad Elvis wasn't a zappa...no one would know who Elvis was if he was like that goofball zappa. Fortunately, entertainers are judged by good songs, how they sounded, number of chart toppers and record sales....not by how goofy they are.
Next time, say NO to crack before you start typing on YouTube..
@debbieb221 - That should tell you something right there... Elvis os pop bullshit and FZ is a musical genius... If your taste in music is limited to Casey Casum's AM Hit Singles of yesteryear then Elvis is your man, if you have a bit more culture and integrity FZ will satisfy... Actually, I did hear a nice Elvis song in an elevator the other day... Now go back to listening to Casey Casums top 100, I think they are going to play Blue Suede Shoes, again!
I was at one of the MSG shows. I think it was an afternoon show. A comedian opened, then the Sweet Inspirations did some stuff on their own before backing the King. What a memory. I was 15.
So what if he looks like a wart hog in heat, he knows we all love him, we'll just watch him EAT! So take down the foil from his hotel retreat and bring back the king for the man in the street. Elvis has just left the building, those are his footprints right there, Elvis has just left the building, he's up there with Jesus in a big purple chair! (FZ) .
A warthog in heat? Since when did the best looking human to walk the planet look like that? If that's what it takes to have any woman around, change me anytime.
@matizzle32 - Hahaha... I was quoting lyrics from the Frank Zappa song, "Elvis Has Just Left The Building." - I suppose it's not the most respectful song, but considering it came from Zappa it could have been a lot worse. I always got a kick out of it.
Elvis loved teasing his audience- It was in his nature. He would do it to his band all the time. Just watch his different performances. He was always messing with their heads!
Could not get tickets for the Friday night show but caught sat afternoon and night plus the added show on Sunday. I wish they had recorded the shows he did on Long Island
@610elliott Those shows he dis in 1973 and 1975 in Long Island, were, for me fantastic. Just as good as those in MSG. I've uploaded Steamroller Blues from the 1973 gigs, in Long Island Uniondale. Just amazing. There are not odicial releases but there are some "import" cds with resonable audience recordings.
@Galoport : The MSG shows were on my birthday and it was the first time I ever saw Elvis in concert. What I remember best from the Nassau shows was a stunning version of I'm Leaving. Elvis was going to play Nassau again but sadly he passed away. I miss him.
I was there and he was amazing. Before Elvis even came on stage you felt as if God himself was about to decend from the Heavens. The thrill that you felt every time he moved, sang, smiled..I can't even begin to describe it.. The energy in the Garden would have lit up all of NYC for a week! The man oozed raw sex appeal...every woman in the Garden was going crazy....including me! Price for a good ticket to see the KING $10...I still have my stub.
@paddybarry25 I'm In my twenties and I love his music and personality. You can never get enough of Elvis. Your one lucky lady to have seen him In concert.
@paddybarry25 How many people can say they heard ELVIS LIVE today ? You are part of ROCK & ROLL HISTORY . This video is as COOL as it gets !!! Compared to ELVIS , everyone else is dull . His fans like you are the GREATEST too - thanks for sharing with us.
elvis will always be the king no matter what,he was an outstanding performer who moved a song like nobody else could, long live the king.the boy who dared to rock!!!!
Elvis was the greatest entertainer of all time. He was so talented he could be successful at anything he attempted to do. He had such a marvelous voice! He could sing practically anything and it sounded wonderful! He was truly one of a kind with his own unique costumes, style and charisma. He is and will always be THE KING!
Just because Elvis was not gay for what you see (as in married) does not say he was not gay, HOWEVER the saying so gay actually proves, that the person saying it is either inadequate, or just gay, so which is it reenee...?
ELvis Presley is NOT! gay he was married and he has a daughter. He is one of the finest men to ever walk this earth. If ya cant say something nice about him then please don't say anything at all.
I do too..Thanks so much Galoport for sharing this Ultra rare video,.MGM did film the shows..maybe they waiting for Elvis's 100th birthday anniversary when we all be dead or something lol Thanks again man:-) awesome !!

Seriously, do we need more REALITY TV?
