Achilleas Poulos was born in 1893 in Balikesir, Turkey and died in 1970 in Connecticut, USA. His grand daughter, Stacy, has set up a facebook page in his memory, Two of his recordings are included in the recently released 3 CD set "To What Strange Place - the music of the Ottoman-American diaspora 1916 -1929" TSQ2608. Interestingly Achilleas' sister, Soultana Poulos, recorded at least 4 songs including 2 versions of Kadife - one in Greek the other in Turkish.
