Actually, NTSC is 29.97. The reason I work at 30 fps is that is the standard frame rate for all of the games work I have ever done. Since video game animators outnumber film animators by quite a bit, I thought that it would make the most sense to use that frame rate as a starting point.
I have also worked at 24 fps in the past, with my work on the first "Ice Age" film. Adjusting my workflow to 30 fps was not very difficult. As long as things look right, then they're right.

Not really. For film, yes, 24 fps is usually the standard, but for most everything else, 30 fps is the standard framerate.

30 FPS? 24 FPS is the standard.
