  • yes i made a mistake it was sept 26 , 1984 and back then a DVD didnt exist , it was a VHS and i still have it .1

  • I was in the front row of this concert! Opening bands: The Weather Girls ("It's Raining Men") and Flock of Seagulls! Ahhh, history.

  • @rgweston1 it was only the flock of segulls

  • WEll, they were on the way to the top, it was performing with Madonna at Live Aid that killed them.

  • i love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!! TT FOREVER!!!!!

  • Great entrance for Tom, this is awesome !

  • Love Thompson Twins! Wath are they now?

  • Thompson Twins Brighton Center December 1984 was the first gig I ever went to and this was the opening track so this was the first song I ever saw live

  • It makes me miss my brother

  • When I saw them, and they did do this track, they replaced on of the synth players with a Fairlight

  • That was you ? I remember watching this on vhs as a child. 27 now. really great band.

  • tom bailey is so steamin' hot!!! loved them enormously--actually still do!!! =)

  • i really dont understand, why they changed to "bable" & why it was disliked when it was found they thompson twins?? some of the band members r doing real average jobs, hows is this where did the millions go??

  • I don't think this was from 1985. By that time, they were touring for Here's to Future Days and doing Live Aid. They changed there look in '85 too.

  • still got the video of this class from start to finish what a band

  • You're right cure4allAndMe, this is an amalgam of two shows recorded in late August/early September 1984.

I know 'cause I was the fool doing stage sound hidden behind the white drape at stage left.

The shows were added at the end of the second US tour in '84, to make the DVD to exploit the success of the album.

After those shows there was one TV recording in New York and it was all over for another year, but Boris left to join The Cure before the tours of 1985.

  • hey you were part of this, thats great. Thanks for confirming the date.

About Boris, I know he was actually sacked from the band by TT's manager cause he requested a pay raise and thanks God he was fired as Boris did a memorable great job with The Cure.

  • @333jcg this was the best concert that i ever been , and man i been to a whole lot.

  • @grupozaz , i agree with you , best of all times and i been to a whole lot too! i not kiddign

  • @333jcg I would never call you a fool John.

  • I remember one of the band gave an interview years later and he said he and his girlfriend were working for the Twins on one of the tours and his girlfriend became so ill that they had to quit but Thompson Twins paid them both in full for the whole length of the tour even though they only worked for a few weeks. The Twins wanted to make sure they could go home and concentrate on nursing the girl back to health without worrying about money. The Twins were always generous !

  • This performance was a diamond live performance video that was used on Thames and westwoodone.

  • This can't be in 1985 as Boris Williams is playing the drums! Boris left Thompson Twins in 1984 to play with The Cure...

  • @cure4allAndMe ...No this is 1984!

  • I saw this tour, the first gig I ever went to and I always remember this bit at the start

  • It wasn't at the Liverpool Royal Court, by any chance?

  • Brighton Centre Dec 84

  • england from the begining beatles yesterday today tomorrow always great best music ever and for ever until l die

  • This was nearly a quarter of a century ago! Yikes; what happened to my hairline?!!!!

  • oh and btw, I don't know about the rest of you ladies, but I could watch Tom Bailey getting down with a door all day! : )

  • NICE!! I love that the bands in the 80s had stage presence, TALENT, and knew how to put on a great performance. Most of the really enduring bands had it all, and this band is definitely an enduring one. The music still sounds just as good today as it did then! EVEN LIVE!

  • Hot damn, thanks for posting this!! I saw the TT at the kickoff concert for this tour at Northside HS in Atlanta in Spring of 1984 and saw them again that September at The Fox Theatre that September. Incredible music, incredible stage performance, incredible concert (and I've seen hundreds of 'em).

    Reunion Tour, s'il vous plait?

  • is there a full show of this

  • yes there is a full show only availabe on vhs

  • kevin, you're retarded and predictable.

  • What would the 80s have been like without the Twins? Totally classic 80s band. Long may their music live!!!

  • Thanks grupozaz for uploading this!! 5 stars!!! This is an absolutely AWESOME song by the Thompson Twins! Nice live version!! Peace2U, Kim

  • THIS IS A fucking reunion that i want first row tickets!

  • Though I'd be right there with ya, sadly it won't happen. Not in the way you'd think it would. Tours in general aren't set up for these types of shows anymore. (Yet another aspect why this generation has been robbed of [never knowing an awesome concert experience]). Having worked at an ampitheater since '94, I can tell you most productions r either cheap or aren't designed to operate a show like they did old skool. It's more '70s, where it's the lights and the performers. NEthing else is gravy

  • STOP IT STOP IT! I DONT WANT TO HEAR IT! i still have hopes that they and THE SMITHS reunite! and todays' shows are nothing but crap...not memorable at all!

  • I think there is a way better chance The Smiths would reunite (probably in the near future actually), but I'd be surprised to see the T.T. go out on tour. Last I saw, Tom Bailey & wife were still into making music, but stuff that was totally non-pop oriented (living in Australia or New Zeland). But that was at the earlier part of this decade, so who knows. I'd still think they'd only tour in Europe or part of the Re-Generation tour, which only plays in select North American cities. :(

  • amen to that. I really wish this band would reunite for just one more tour just so I can see them live.

  • thanks! i grew up in puerto rico and my love for them started there when i was like 5! and i had no idea that they were playing STADIUMS here in the states....amazing.

  • weve had duran duran come back weve had spandau ballet come back y not have the thompson twins come back.

  • i mean performance wise they were very good. i havent been around long enough to have the priviledge of seeing them live but this is like a good engaging performace status. happy 420

  • amazing. just amazing.

  • first concert i ever saw was the tompson twins in 1984 on the boston common with berlin oppening up they were both great.

  • Wow, lucky you. Love them both.

  • those were the days.

  • Dude the date is wrong. Its Sept. 30 1984.

  • Saw this tour in Birmingham,England in 1984 and it was one of the best concerts I have ever seen (and I've seen 100's).A great stage show and even better musicianship & vocals made it a great evening.

C'mon Tom put the band back together !!

    The Thompson Twins rocked !!

  • I'm not positive, but I think 2 of them live in New Zealand now. Anyone know for sure? (The white guy and girl, sorry, I forget their names) I think these 2 are still together and had some kids. Input??

  • actually they are divorced living separate lives but they have a kid toghether ! i dont thik he pays child support lol!

  • Yep, both live in beutiful New Zealand, in Auckland.

  • envy feeling...wish i had seen them live. this album made them, for a while, the number one band in the planet...and they played stadiums here in the states..god, i wish they would do a reunion tour...

  • I love this tour...even though I am living in Singapore..this show was telecast in our National TV in 85...Great concert n great band....what a way to start the tour with INTO THE GAP...one of my fave songs from the album...:)

  • i saw it live. i was there, one of those heads was mine....lol best show thati ever been in my life...

  • I am still waiting for them to release this tour on dvd...but i dont think they will....:(:(:(:(...its been so many years...80s RULES!!!! east is east....west is west....two different colours on the map...we say break the line....chew the fat...keep moving out into the gap~~~~ :):)

  • Outstanding!

One of the greatest shows I've ever seen was Thompson Twins at Park West back in '87. I was exhausted after that show - not one second of being still the entire show. Everyone at that show was dancing the entire time.

    Great fun.

  • GRANDE TOM BAILEY !
