Great song. Dougan incorporates classical sounds to modern times. If you listen carefully, the song is someone a 'theme of life.' beginning with a cry(at birth), then serene sounds(childhood), then becoming more serious, more abrasive...to transcend into more peaceful sounds towards the end.

Never understood why the American versions of these shows have different theme tunes. The Only show (that I know of, probably wrong here) that is a Dick Wolf show that has the same theme in the UK and US is Arrest And Trial... there are probably others. The SVU theme is slightly different to the regular Law and Order theme, not quite sure how though - they just sound different...
