@1emmain I dont think the brunette singer is Lani Hall but Gracinha Leporace, Mendes' wife and singer to Mendez until nowadays. In fact, neither of them, Hall, Leporace or Jansen were the original line-up of Sergio Mendes and Brazil 66.

They are two Brazilian Bossa Nova singers Wanda de Sá and Rosinha de Valença.

@caravaggio31 The brunette singer on this video, is Lani Hall for sure. The original line-up of Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 included Lani Hall and Janis Hansen as the female vocalists. Wanda de Sá and Rosinha de Valença belonged to the previous Sergio's group Brasil '65.

@hardbossa Yeah you're right. Gracinha and Leni have some resemblance and is Lani on this video. But the blonde one isn't Jansen but Karen Phillips who joined th group after Jansen pursued a solo career.

Gracinha only joined the group in 70/71 and this video is from 69.

@caravaggio31 You are right. The blonde in this video isn't Janis Hansen, but Karen Philipp who replaced Hansen on beginning 1968. After leaving SM&B66 group, Janis Hansen together with the percussionist Jose Soares formed another group called "The Carnival", who recorded only one album.

Lani would shortly leave for her own path, but Sm had Grachinha ready to go. With his having worked with her on the Bossa Rio recordings, she was the perfect replacement, but Lani Hall never sounded better than she did with the Brazil '66 efforts. It is neat to note that you can detect SM actually playing the paino and the "strings" are dubbed in from a recording. Love this, thanks!
