  • hahahaha thats America?

  • This is not Voltaire... This is a LIE!!!

  • I saw this link on a Voltaire vid, but I think this guy is cool as well ;P (I knew about him before I started liking Voltaire Music 4 years ago.)

  • thumbs if you came here to see the musician

  • He's my favourite too.

  • Voltaire! One of my favorite philosophers. He tried to persuade his readers by using humor. A teenager was put to death in 1700's France simply for being in the possession of Voltaire's "Philosophical Dictionary". How times have changed...

  • you could be stigmatized to death for owning a Marylin Manson album in Ohio.

  • very nice, keep kicking. Dr. V. would want you to bust the stall

  • Why dont make the beard?

  • @musicpirateinc

    English please

  • the person who made this video has too much Bias. Voltaire, actually did not totally reject Christianity, and he also did believe in God.

  • @Mark123USA What?? Voltaire hated Christianity.

  • @Mark123USA

    No, actually.

  • @Mark123USA He was a deist, and he rejected nearly all religions.

  • I will have to check but I do think that the last part of what she says is wrong. It is true that his body was moved several times. But his tomb was raided and he is now not in any known grave. He was pulled from his grave and thrown in a city dump pile. His heart is preserved in a jar at the Paris Library.

  • That is an untrue statement. The rumor that his remains were stolen during the Pantheon's restoration in 1814 is completely false. This rumor became very widespread, and in 1897, the coffin was opened and proved that his remains were still there.

  • This is good to know, do you recall where you read of this?

  • @Volt1694

Western Civilization textbook... Speilvogle is the authors name, I don't know if that is the correct spelling.

  • Found the book! Thanks for the info.

  • @ambera15 you have to be a little mad to truly be a genius
