Holy god this woman is HORRIBLE as Pirelli. I'm doing this role right now and I thought I'd listen to the recording to get inspiration, but this is just awful. There is no arrogance, as someone else said. It's just goofy as hell and so bad. The dialogue is dreadful. The accent is worse than awful- no one would think this Pirelli was Italian or Irish.  Instead of making this role a comedic part that can steal the show this woman makes Pirelli a complete laughing stock. Awful. So bad.

Just to let most of you know, the part of Toby is supposed to be played be a young adult! NOT A LITTLE KID! Sure, sure, its cute, but its wrong, don't judge everything on the movie just because you're a huge Johnny Depp fan, once you see the show, you will know that this little boy was not nearly as good as any of the actors that played the role on Broadway!

I liked Neil Patrick Harris most as Toby, along with Sanders, and I thought Toby was kinda an infantile teenager, and Sanders is a kid/teenager, Neil Patrick Harris is a good and witty-looking guy who can bring the infantility to the character. I don't like Pirelli as a woman. It removes the impact of the character's arrogance, I think. By the way, I don't like Cerveris as Sweeney, he sounds a bit like Homer Simpson. The over-the-top modesty of this production doesn't appeal to me by the way.

And this woman is soo incredible.

And me, being a girl and loving the role of Pirelli, think it's cooler when they have a woman playing the role. =D

And I'm sure a woman was the main choice, because the only thing similar between the original play and the revival is the music and book. That sounds weird, but everything was different haha!

The actor that plays Pirelli is indeed not an actor at all, but an actress. This is because they couldn't find a guy to sing high enough. Or at least, that is what I have heard. The character Pirelli, however, is still a man.

However, I've heard from those who saw it that both quartets were really good in this production, and that Mea Culpa was especially creepy. If you could, would you upload those, as well? The Kiss Me Quartet is between Anthony and Johanna, than the Judge and the Beadle, than all four of them at once. Johanna Quartet is between Johanna, Sweeney, Anthony and the Beggar Woman.
