@dreampretear there are different programs on the market that design 3d characters and scenes. Maya is a popular one and there are a few others. It takes patience to learn. I don't know what program is more user friendly. I am very slowly figuring out Maya. You need allot of ram to run it optimally. I'm running 4 gig and i can see how it effects my computer performance.
I have a feeling by the time I bought this, I would never use it because it would be WAY too confusing for me. They could make it as user-friendly as they want and I'll still be able to only use a paper and pencil. >:D

@TheWhiteRoseTurk After a 2 hour lesson on 3ds MAX from a friend, and doing the built in tutorials, i had built some quite nice models, textured and materialed and all within two weeks. As long as you dedicate some time to it and are passionate you will be fine.
@BaronZTUKHH You've learned it that fast? Awesome, I wish I could. I've gotten used to the basics in Maya and 3DS max but I don't know how to start modeling cool things such as human bodies/faces and I don't know how to rig things yet.
@ThinkofUser I had a good teacher :) Also wanted to learn so did whatever i could in terms of tutorials,but made sure not to go to far as to try stuff that was so far out of reach. I messed with a bit of everything, standard modelling, diff techniques, pflow,particle systems, Materials and texturing, lighting, rigging ( Ragdoll and such) animation. For character/bodie/face modelling, box modelling could be a good route to learn. it's easy quick and simple. Good luck !

@spareaxe Because animating is about exploring you imagination. Whats the fun in a animation of 2 people talking when I could watch that in real life.
it's well modeled, good animated, lighting and textures are nice. But nothing in the movie tells us what Shade is good for or can do. that movie could have been made in any other commercial 3D program. This movie is a commercial for the artist who worked on the short movie and not the program it's self
@KiwamuTheKappa derp? they made this video USING the program to promote it, using ikeda who happens to love using the program thus being well versed in using it, made a promotion video for them. :B

As a video for SHADE it does not sell the product for me, it gives no information on what it can do, can it work with bigger render engines or does it have it's own that can rival other renders. is it good for modeling characters or works better as a animators tool. Instead we get a Reel video of the artists skills.
