Love the full detailed videos. I'm actually going to atempt to do this myself today because I recently got laid off and have roots 6" deep and can't afford salon cost.
Question: My hair does has blonde from previous foil highlights but I want it blonder. Can I still brush the bleach all the way down the foil??
@RebeccaWhite03 Welllll...I'd lighten just the root area first...then DEPENDING ON THE CONDITION OF THE PREVIOUSLY BLEACHED HAIR, re-bleach it with a bleach with 10 vol and a little conditioner.
This is, however, something that someone else needs to do, so that they can SEE that they are not overlapping the shaft and ends with the "hotter" bleach mixture. If you can't afford a salon visit, at least have a friend do it. Self-inflicted foiling COULD result in the need for a wig, which is alsways more expensive than a re-touch.
Folding the sides traps the gas produced from the bleach oxidizing. Sometimes you might notice at the roots of your foil, a little orange that goes down to the scalp. It's not as obvious as when the bleach bleeds out from the foil...but just a faint lifting like a "ghost"...this slight lifting is from trapped gas that can only escape at the opening left at the roots.
You should try to clip the hair clip onto your shirt or the clients cape. A LOT of time is wasted by you reaching over to put the clip down then reaching back to pick it up. Just a suggestion ;)
Actually, I normally DO put the clip on my right shoulder...To be honest I don't know why I put it down on my cart for this video. I also must say, that until you pointed it out, I didn't even notice that I changed my M.O. for this particular video. LOL
Kudos! very helping for starting out hairstylists! its awesome to actually see the whole foiling method done. while doing th client consultation and everything in between!
I always try to pick up the streaks that I peviously lightened, and only lighten the roots of those pieces, leaving the already lightened parts outside the foil.

Why did you leave the ends out in the blue foil, 30 volue,Is it because it would grab?

so do you still charge full price for it if your pretty much only doing half??? I'd hope so cause that would sorta seem like a bit of a rip off.

we have three prices...face frame, half head and full head.
