Further to this point, they often do record a song that is actually an established traditional song, such as Sinklars Visa. If you listen to these songs, and the new songs that they have composed, the above mentioned poetic devices we become more evident. Also, in a few songs, trad instruments are used

The problem is most human beings are idiots. The instant a band records an ethnic song or two, they're labelled as "folk" metal. And many of those idiots happen to be the fans who will also label Týr as a Nazi pride band, when that isn't true either. If only they took time to educate themselves on the bands they "follow"...
