Fun Fact: When Danzig's original drummer Chuck Biscuits left the band, Danzig wanted Dave Grohl. That didn't happen but Danzig found Joey Castillo. Years later, Joey went on to play for QOTSA after Grohl left.

I should imagine there's no rivalry between them at all, it's just the fans like to make a ruck. Both seem like down to Earth, nice blokes, so why should there be anything? Grohl has his own thing, Castillo his.

Personally I much prefer Joey on the drums, and struggle to understand this "Dave Grohl legend" sychophancy which flies around. Good drummer, but not even close to being the best of his generation.

Alfredo was all rides but I think thats how they wanted it at the beginning so ya didnt have to think too much. But Joey is a beast on the drums, those muscles...my god...technically he's great and he can play so fast its kinda odd. Its been a while since I've seen a drummer add so much energy to a band.

You know.. Both drummers are bad ass. I mean, Dave's a legend... But Joey is a beast! Watch live performances on both drummers and you can tell that they both are very different and very talented.

I guess what I have to say is is that there isn't a rivalry.. Just a lot of people who wanna distinguish which drummer is better.. And really, in truth.. Both drummers are awesome.

I think they each fit a different style of Queens songs. Dave seems to fit in better for songs like Avon, or No One Knows, while Joey is the kind of guy I'd want behind the set for songs like Better Living or Song For the Dead. But it honestly doesn't matter, they both work perfectly with the band.
