  • Beautiful lines, beautiful poses and a beautiful girl. BUT, you did not feel this music at all. You waited for ques in the song to tell you what to do next. It is very clear the majority of your training is in ballet. Your belly dance training needs to shine more clearly in a piece of music like that when danced in bedlah.

  • Very odd and I agree not the ...truest to the form, BUT it has a beauty of its own if you do not think in terms of bellydancing per say. She has beautiful lines though :) Bravo on your performance and the courage to dance in front of an audience. :)

  • Just a question to all whom are critizising this young woman..but can you dance like this? Do you have any idea how difficult it is to mix belly dance with classical ballet??

Maybe you are jealous people, sick people whom makes this wold so bad.

You seem blind for the beautiful art she is making with her body and soul.

Am sure you can not dance otherwise you would,nt sad all those stupit things on her.

Put a video from youreself dancing and let me judge on you..we see..

  • she is very pretty, though. Gaia Scuderi (sp) does a really good fusion with proper technique.

  • When bad belly meets bad ballet... ^^

  • Her belly dance is horrible, i dont know much about ballet but it was much more better then her belly dance and the mix of music and style was also painfull. Bellly dacne and ballet is oftne mixed and its nice to put some ballet figure in it, but to make such cirkus..... :-/ + her face expressions seems like its very difficult for her and this i see as big mistake of dancer. Hard work should not be visible on face. '

  • Her belly dance was awful. the veil was literally used as something flashy rather than a proper prop. Her ballet though was top notch and beautiful posture. Ballet and Belly mix beautifully, but not in this interpretation.

  • may be it's boring or not comparing but if you look to main idea it's amazing how Kamal Ballan mixed 2 songs: ballet and belly dance, he did well I think because just tallented people like him can do this.Look at yourself and imagine if you could do this: the answer will "no" because you never think about how to mix both of them.Even you think but you can't compose such things. But he did something wrong he had to find tallented dancer who could show his invention!!!

  • @ominaxon Ballet and Belly is combined on a regular bases. Look at the Reda Troupe, many of them have had ballet training and combine stepping patterns. It's good how you're very passionate about this, but this fusion has been happening for decades and nothing new.

  • I see some ballet and some oriental movements, but they don't seem connected to each other...

  • I didn't see enough of wither belly or ballet. She seems talented, but sorry, it wasn't what I was looking for.

  • it was a nice idea an she is a very gracefull dancer but she has noooo sense of what bellydance is whatsoever... a little better in ballet although her "attitude" was a bit to low and to bent.

  • Who cares about naming? Belly or Ballet? Good dance is good, no matter what and she is good with such a grace. Belly danece is a bit boring with only a few repetative movements but she throw some ballet movements here and that is refreshing.

  • good point but she's not a great dancer. sonia, on the other hand, is great at integrating other dance forms with belly dance (with grace!).

  • i agree as well horrible

  • how to destroy both belly dance and ballet.... HORRIBLE

  • Very boring!!

  • PLEASE WATCH THE ONLY POSSIBLE FUSION!!!!!

  • she is bad in raks sharki (belly dance) and evevn worse in ballet .... not to talk about the music completely out!!!!!

    this is not dance ....

  • That's one of the worst things I've ever seen.

  • Her belly dance technique was all off. That was really painful to watch!

  • To me it doesn't mix well, but you are still a fantastic dancer with grace and beauty.

  • the point of this was to mix things up. she dances great and has grace.

  • JESUSSSSS thats HORRIBLE

  • I AGREE

  • this is NOT belly dancing!!

    ugh no no and NO.

    first off

no scarf in belly dancing, second she's doing ballet with it!

i mean it's good entertainment, but don't even call it belly dancing.

  • There's plenty of "scarf" in belly dancing, it's called veil dance. It's a major part of the classic American Cabaret routine.

  • Um, it says in the title that it is a ballet fusion!

And veil dance is a popular part of American belly dance. Is it traditional? No. Is it beautiful and entertaining? Yes!

  • The first to introduce the veil in her dance was Samia Gamal...so in a sense, it can be considered traditional! Depends on one's references! The dance of the 7 veils also has a very ancient meaning, so....

I just think this person criticizing has no idea what they are talking about!

Fortunately we are here to defend our Artform, be it fusion or not!

    Happy New Year Nefabit!

  • She is gracefull and a delight to watch, as for mixing different styles of dance I think its wonderful, if only people could mix and create something so wonderful!

  • mixing bellydance with ballet is like mixing olive oil with chocolates. Sorry, as a dancer myself who has been a professional ballerina and who dances baladi, both together does not work well, but there is no accounting for taste.

  • Middle eastern dance mixed with european ballet to Bolero, a spanish song? Hmmmm, naw doesn't work.

  • Kamal Ballan - Syrian composer, singer, dancer, bellydance teacher from Suwaida, Syria. He lives in Russia over 30 years and his dream is to unite all peoples of the world in one dance of goodness and beauty! Doesn't works? It is only your opinion.

  • @stronzoincazzato i would like to see that dance when he is finished developing it

  • @Bubuyog4 Bolero, yes, but don't forget Spain's historic relations to North Africa, in which bellydance is practised in several countries in that region. Whether or not the piece meets your expectations, it's still beautiful and who says that humans cannot combine different forms of art of any kind?
