Ed is hard headed on this one. The negatives outweigh the positives. Did he not hear the ag creates subsidies for 78% of the dep for corporations. Cut the spending that goes to corporations and squeezes the small farmers. All things being equal sure lets have dep to overlook everything wait thats big government. We are in a state of bankruptcy this is what we need to do to get our country back in order. Independent quality control can be had without the government if you have competition.
i hate when these retarded democrats say, "Oh you wanna get rid of department of agriculture, that means you're against people having food." No their main goal is profit and to wipe out competition.
sounds like the interviewer is just trying to push a one sided view. you cant report on 50 percent of someones words and not bring up the rest. thats not even right. and its misrepresentation of dr ron pauls character... that interview was not fair and balanced.. at all. or professional
Good food in our country. Let me ruminate on this one and see if i can come up with something. Currently our taxypayer dollars are subsidizing multi-billion dollar food corporations, so you are taking money from me to give to them. When they do something unhealthy for Americans, their brigade of lawyers sweeps it under the carpet. If a small local farmer makes that mistake, he loses business and the free market forces him to correct his error or fail. Which sounds "healthier"?
Food Security? Rely on the Department of Education? Sounds like a unique form of fearmongering...Is Ed afraid we are going to have e. coli in our spinach and our next generation is going to lose ground to other nations in all critical elements of education? Wait, that is happening now despite our excessive spending...
True "Pyscho Talk" is listening to a man say we need to spend billions/trillions and end up dumber and sicker. Vote Ron Paul 2012 and Restore America Now!
Obama appoints Monsanto VP into the FDA. And he was totally right about them supporting corporate big agra.and that stupid fat head should let his guest finish talking, GEEZ!
Just like the department of education. a standardization of biased information that tells kids to accept fact and not to question fact is kind of scary. Putting our kids through a promotion-style assembly line like fucking sheep is also outdated. We should be able to choose what kind of education we want. In free market, the best schools would thrive, but competition would be healthy, since there would be no tax fueled government body to compete with. many good things could come from this.
I think what Mr. Ed fails to recognize here that government intervention in an economy drives up prices through the basic rule of supply and demand. subsidies drive up prices but do not increase quality, things generally stay the standard and corporate body's instead of individuals are rewarded. In a free market system a company could exist that could scientifically approve food safety for an individual for a price. This would be economically viable since people people care about their health.:)
I like how Ed Schultz knew he was about to get schooled and couldn't back himself up with facts so he just started yelling over the guy he was supposed to be "interviewing". MSNBC has become even worse than FOX and CNN.
He's not letting RP talk, and trying to make him seem psycho by cutting him off right when he's actually making a point. This is a very manipulative interviewer.
So Ed felt the Dept. of Agriculture was the "point" of his argument only AFTER Dr. Paul owned him on his stance on the Dept. Of Education and being taken out of context. Ed "Psycho Talk" Schultz strikes[out] again.
LET MY NIGGA SPEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! damn, im tryna hear what hes saying. how the fuck are you going to ask someone a question and not let them explain their answer, and mad cow desease really? the "ag department" pretty much started that by feeding cows shit like beef and corn
what an idiot this interviewer is, seriously mad cow disease? I was afraid of that until I actually researched it. Your odds of getting it are so stupid low that its not even an issue.
Why even invite somebody to an interview if you're going to yell over and interrupt the whole time? Ron Paul stands there like a gentleman with a smile on his face the whole time and asks him "Why he's so mean". Outrageous.
Seriously anyone who doesn't let the other side speak loses all credibility in my book. This guy is like rick perry with ron being mitt romney in the gop debate.
I find it interesting that Ron Paul takes flack for wanting to get rid of useless federal departments that provide no useful service for the benefit of the American people, but no one seems to object to President Obama gutting NASA and eliminating our own space program. What are we saving there? Two billion dollars per year? And now we have to depend on the Russians to launch our spy satellites? Ed, you are a complete moron. Wake up, will you?
Ed has demonstrated that he's ignorant when it comes to principles of liberty and the rule of law. Okay, Ed, you think the Constitution is outmoded? There is a way to change it, but ignoring the rule of law is not the way to do it... As for the Dept. of Education giving kids a fair shot at a good education: Marble buildings and bureaucrats with six figure salaries don't educate kids. Washington has not increased the level of education in the U.S.
Wow. I was actually hoping to hear a real discussion about the Department of Education, its functions, and the premise of cutting it. I can't believe this is what people are basing their opinions on.
This damn reporters don't even let Ron Paul talk and explain. What a brainwash!!! And off course Ron Paul said it... this reporter is getting paid to say that shit.
Ed is such a tool. We need to get rid of all government departments. They really need to stay the hell out of our lives. Their sole purpose is to protect our rights, not tell me what to eat, drink, when to breath, etc. People really need to wake.
I'd like to know which foods contain GMOs, but I guess your precious DoA and Monsanto wouldn't be on board for that. So, much for protecting the people right?
Ron should say "If it is so important to the people and the states, amend the Constitution" if the people really want it, there should be no problem getting two-thirds of the states to ratify it.
What a jerk interviewer! He must have been under the same journalism instructor as Chris Matthews and Bill O'reilly. Talk! Talk! Talk! Talk! Talk! And when the one being interviewed tries to respond....Talk! Talk! Talk! Talk! Talk! Gee whiz!!! It's an interview, not a one way sermon from the host!
I am a lady but I seriously want to punch some of these media jerks in their faces. I feel bad for Ron Paul, a classy, respectable guy..because he has to deal with these jerks. keep your head up RP
ok Ed Schultz is dumb, there wouldnt be any issues with mad cow disease if the department of agriculture actually did it's job and made sure that factory farms were raising their livestock in sanitary conditions. I like that Ron Paul supports the smaller family farms.
The interviewer is a piece of shit. What the hell was that? RP couldn't talk.
I may not agree with eliminating the Dpt of Ag, but I didn't get to hear why RP feels this way. That is shitty interviewing if I've ever seen it. Ed Shultz needs to be fired ASAP.
He wouldn't even let Dr. Paul explain what he said, and he just took a snippet of something that Dr. Paul said. Mr. Schiff just said the same thing over and over and over....
Destroy the Department of Education? This is the exact reason why Ron Paul is a failure & will always be a faliure in the poilitcal world until the day he dies. Many people of the lower classes want an higher education and destroying the Department of Education will destroy so many lives because people cannot afford to pay for it alone. If people think Government Grants & Loans do not help, they are full of shit & want a world of social inequality.
@jmjfanss Making sure the people of your nation recieves the education they need to find careers they love is un-consitutional? Now how does that go against the constitution?
@jmjfanss Just because they means you dont want everyone including your neighbors to have the same chance at life as you. Not really convincing with no material if you ask me.
@jmjfanss You think the average person would be better off paying tuition for their children from K-12th grade? Think about how expsensive private tuition is, exspecially how the average person in India cannot even send their children to Kindergarden.
@Bronzecop He did not say that loans would be removed at all. Those would go to something entirely different. In fact, what he is saying is making it a smaller government level. The DOE in Washington is telling every state to do what the DOE says to do. Ex: NCLB (which has brought down the level of education dramatically). RP wants each state to govern itself. Don't you think your own state should have their own say in how their children is taught? Nationalizing everything is just bad...
@DaveTheSithLord If you want that funding it provides you do what the DoE wants to a certain extent. And no I do not want my state to run itself, this place would be worse than Serbia if it did. Also you know I like the large government here? Because there are so many branches keeping an eye on each other so they dont get too out of hand & I can criticize some branches without hating my nation. Some people hate the guts out of the DoD, but love the shit out of the SD.
@Bronzecop I don't think you understand... States used to govern themselves, then when things started to get "nationalized", our economy got worse. And actually, you don't need national government entities in order to "keep an eye" on each other. In fact, that doesn't even work. Take for example the DoE... Because of the national implementations that were invented by it, many states' educational systems have gotten worse. This "incentive" for funding with national tests, just takes up time.
@DaveTheSithLord Why aren't the police force nationalized? No, it's by state. There is a FBI, but the states run their own police force. The fact that states used to run themselves perfectly fine, was proof enough that this system needs reform. If you think this system is working, then just wait till we get $25 trillion in debt, and then a bank ends up buying off our debt, and then this country is now "owned" and for profit only government. Then you can kiss any good state goodbye.
@DaveTheSithLord The last thing is... States have a reason to be "good". If they want people to live there, they control their own markets, their own education systems, etc. In fact, the people actually control it. They vote for who they want running the state, not worrying about their systems getting controlled by people in DC that don't know shit about the other states. But, if sales tax gets nationalized along with everything else, Oregon will lose it's greatest incentive to live there.
@DaveTheSithLord Seems your view depends on which administration is in office, the last administration made things very bad for many Departments. With the new adminstration education has become better & more accessible to the people. Besides States here cannot be trusted like Quebec, too irresponsible & with the Civil War in our history people here showed that they couldnt be trusted to themselves. Look at how well other nations that just have only a federal order, they're doing better than us.
@Bronzecop I believe both are bad. In fact, Obama doubled down on the bad implementations from Obama. In fact, NCLB is one of those things that he has doubled down on. It's a horrible thing that was made by Bush, and Obama continues it. Lol. Quebec?? That is so strange... In fact it was almost half split on wanting to secede from Canada. But anyway, to use something like the "civil war" as an explanation, when in fact that was the reason WHY there was a civil war. Government taking their freedom
@DaveTheSithLord And I think you need to take a look at other countries more carefully. A lot of them are doing poorly... Like the UK. They have many problems with their country as well.
But not to mention the lack of transparency with "large" governments. Meaning you have no idea where your taxes go. Whereas in smaller governments, your taxes goes to your state. And you will know where they go because if your governor screws up, He's fired.
@DaveTheSithLord Also, to say that one government is doing better than another is not really a true thing. In fact, most governments are using Keynesian economics.
@DaveTheSithLord Yeah children's education needs a lot of improvement, but at least the college system has improved. Quebec works cooperatively with Canada, but the states wanting to run themselves did not. Becoming split like Europe (sectionalism) & keep slavery around, not a valid excuse but the war was done. And knowing how the poorest states are in the south I do not think they would last long without cooperating with the federal level like Quebec.
@Bronzecop What? You don't understand what it means by "working together". Of course there are laws they have to abide by. That's the Constitution... That wouldn't mean there is no "cooperation". There could never be a separation like before. The government was telling the states what to do by trying to follow the Constitution "All men are created equal". As long as they abide by it, there's no problems. Do you understand what "govern themselves" means?
@DaveTheSithLord And the poorest states are actually in the west. At least the ones with the most debt. But just because you think of something being poor, that means it will break away? I don't know where you're getting that information... No one would secede from the States. There is a national army and a national Constitution. Absolutely no one would be able to do something like that. But under your thoughts, you believe they would, for absolutely no reason.
@DaveTheSithLord I've been in 46 states, and I see a lot of people who love their country. It would be idiotic to assume people would want to run their own country and economic system... they would immediately become third world. If you think a state shouldn't run itself, then I don't see the reason for any senators, congressman, or governors. Heck, let's have a dictator. He knows best, right? I fail to see how you think there would be zero cooperation.
@DaveTheSithLord One thing, in Hawaii, they are realizing that they know what's best for their children, and are stepping away from the NCLB. They KNOW that a bunch of old men in a building in DC don't know how to run their state's education, so they are making decisions themselves, weening off the government funding teat. Which is actually the only reason why states go with national implementations... Large government = huge, unpayable debt.
@DaveTheSithLord I have nothing against Senators, Congress or Governors; unlike in the rest of the world I dislike how the same federal rules dont apply to the state (province) & local levels here. Anti-abortion is nice (not really since it has a correlation with women being found dead in closets) but Basic Human Necessities should not be neglected because of your agenda. I dont want Dictatorship, I want a government like Norway & Japan that disciplines itself to make sure the nation prospers.
@Bronzecop Woah! Look at what I missed... This guy is a moron... Yes, 150 years later, the south waited to revolt... Why don't you go back to conspiracy forums where you belong. You know nothing of the south. In fact, if any time was an "opportunity" for the south to secede, it would've been in 2008 with Obama being elected. They didn't. And "basic human necessities" is a blanket term for promoting being babied by the government. You assumptions are biased.
@DaveTheSithLord The truth hurts dont it southern hick? You guys wont revolt like in 1861 because the game is now different especially with I.A. & NATO around. Hmmm being babied by the government huh? Lets see how long you last without medical & housing since those are primary "Basic Human Necessities" XD LMAO ROTF!!! If you think access to higher education is like food stamps you're dead wrong. Dont believe me? Ask the guy who got certified in construction, makes a big difference with college.
@Bronzecop HAHA! Southern hick? Insulting someone without knowing where they are from or where they live... I'm far from it actually. But hey, if it makes you feel better to insult rather than speak intelligently, then you must feel like you are already losing the debate. And for your information, I don't get any help from government. Unlike most "users" who milk the state for everything they got, I don't take handouts. Everything else your spewing is not what I was talking about.
@DaveTheSithLord Your attitude differs none from them, so theres no difference between the two of you. Ok you don't need help, so why go against others who need it? You don't know what you're talking about when you say "handout", a payed for education isnt free like food stamps where its given to you; you have to work towards it & abide by the rules or you wont get it. The lingo can be used both ways moron, so desparate to scratch at me lol.
@DaveTheSithLord Why dont you quit talking to yourself & admit the real reason why you dis-like the federal order. You're good at playing denial despite there are plenty of ignorant southerners wanting to turn against the nation again like they did in 1861, the federal order is keeping a good eye out to make sure that doesnt happen again. The states can do well like other small countries, but its a no brainer that the south would fall apart if they attempted to.
@DaveTheSithLord There are plenty of amendments in the Constitution that the southern states do not wish to follow. Especially in the 10th poorest state, in its own constitution that would allow slavery if the federal level didnt exist. The southern states do not wish to cooperate, that was always their wish. Don't try to twist meanings of words "Govern Themselves" always have had the same meaning here, be like a sovreign state where no one keeps them in line.
Fuck the USDA and the department of Agriculture....
All they do is lobby congress to pass laws related to big business.
They get executives from large corporate companies like Tyson and Monsanto into elected positions so that they can release their control over the cash flows and power exalted by thee companies today!
WATCH FOOD INC! You'll see what the USDA does for us!
There is no such thing as farming anymore... all there is, is corporate feed lots, operations, and factories... only 12 exist today in all of the u.s. that supply all of the meat we see... Monocultures have created huge demand for GMO's and pesticides ect... let diversity exist and we would no longer need those! It's this corporate agenda that is ruining our financial system, our health care system and our agricultural system! RON PAUL 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look at what the USDA and the department of agriculture have turned the agribusiness into.... John Ashcroft and many other people started off working for companies like Monsanto, Tyson and smith field. The only reason mad cow disease, e coli, ect exist in the food system today is because we have changed the way we produce food! We feed fish, cows, chickens, ect corn instead of grass like they are supposed to eat mainly because corn is paid for by our tax dollars... its a government subsidy.
Loved the opening line from Ron Paul. "You can't jump on me for defending Constitution" Hey Ron, no disrespect, But fuck the Constitution. People use the Constitution like people use a Holy Book (Bible, Quaran) to justify things nobody would benefit from. The Constitution had it's time but it was written by a bunch of former slave owners, I think we can implement rational and sense without any outdated document, thank you very much.
The Constitution had its time? You say that like it's was the video game Madden 09 and a new version just came out in stores. You do realize that it is the supreme law of the land no matter how much you may dislike it, and that we elect our officials to uphold that supreme rule of law? You have nothing but tyranny if we (citizens) don't hold their feet to the fire when they violate their oath. Things are so fucked up now because this country has let them get away with it.
@cupocity303 There were dozens of founding fathers and architects of the Constitution, and not all of them were slave owners. But if you want to live in a country where your rights can be voted away by 51% of the population, i hear England is a nice place to live.
@OrangeMango30 What rights, you have no rights, if that's the case. As George Carlin once said, we either have a unlimited rights (including the right to healthcare, food, shelter < the basics for living) OR we have no rights at all. In which case you have the right to tell me THAT YOU HAVE RIGHTS and I have the right to tell you that you don't have any rights, and shoot you in your face, point blank. <<<Classic George Carlin.
Moral of the story, RIGHTS are what we make of it.
@cupocity303 George Carlin was a smug, arrogant bastard, But i won't deny that what he said there is true. That's why we need to fix this authoritarian, corporate nation and put power back in the hands of the people, rather than old men in suits. This country was founded on the RULE OF THE PEOPLE, and that's how it should stay.
"Socialism, like the ancient ideas from which it springs, confuses the distinction between government and society. As a result of this, every time we object to a thing being done by government, the socialists conclude that we object to its being done at all."
I notice Ed Schultz uses the same strategy as the liberal left in that they appeal to the emotions, rather than facts; what's even more disturbing is that we have a media persona thinking that they can win a debate by shouting them down and regurgitating tired old cliches.
At least Olberman can make his moronic rants sound witty...this guy should be bagging groceries. Ron Paul has a rational basis for everything he says. Schultz is only about feeding sound bites to the public to play on their emotions, which is manipulative. Ed Schultz is the lefts equivalent to Pat Robertson
I like the subject line "psycho backtalk" Anybody that disagrees with the progressive/libs is considered a psycho! Ed schultz doesn't have the intelligence of a raddish!
The education dept insures a bland uniform education for everyone. The trouble with that ideology and formula is that not every place is the same. We grow foods in some areas, there are forests in some areas, not all "places in America" are even similar much less the same. Educating everyone the same doesn't teach children who live around forests to treasure forests. Educating everyone the same doesn't teach children who live on farms the value of farms in our everyday lives.
@Ozlanthos Ever listen to Mark Steyn's views on multiculturalism. He pretty much makes that same point. Equal but seperate. Marxist ideology that everybody is equal across the board is dangerous, because it eventually infringes on justice of the individual.
@funk7000 It also disregards differences in culture and geographically-defined lifestyles. It is why the Eurozone is FAILING as a single economic entity. Because not all of the countries within it are as industrialized, the ones with the most manufacturing are holding the rest of them up....Bad news all the way around. Plus most European countries are getting pissed about being over-run with Muslim immigrants.
Under Ike there was a Department of Health, Education and Welfare. Kennedy changed that. Johnson poured money into the new Department and since 1964, SAT test scores have gone down ever since.
The Department of Agriculture does almost nothing about tainted imported food until the problems assert themselves. This guy conveniently forgets that 150 years ago we were a very rural and agrarian nation.
the DOE doesn't really have any major part in education k-12. It's usually local school boards that come up with curriculum. Even standardized test for college such as ACT and SAT are non-profit private organizations. So what's the purpose of the DOE again?
What everyone misses this is what Ron Paul would do if it was up to him, but remember the no one gets exactly what they want in democracy an Ed is a jerk off far liberal nut job look how he tries to put words in Ron Pauls mouth
@MiddleEastRevolution You're right - that's bogus. It would be far, far simpler and cheaper to poison the water supply. This Schultz guy is just a loud-mouthed blowhard.
To that dip shit commie prick interviewer I don't want a Agriculture Department and the Department of Education is nothing short of a Socialist and Liberal agenda propaganda machine... thats all that fucking DOE is good for it is a mis education not an education that they provide.
Ron Paul fucking schooled that dip shit. That guy wouldn't even let Ron Paul talk when he was right. Ron Paul just believes in the Constitution and that prick can't understand that.
My friend that is the way of the Liberal bullshitter. In their eyes we have freedom of speach and freedom of expression... up to the point they disagree with you. Then you should be jailed and beaten. I hate almost all of these talk shows and their pathetic hosts, the so called "conservatives" like Limbaugh and Hannity are equally as bad if not worse. I can't stand Bill Marh but at least that cock sucker will let you get a point accross. Hannity & Combs made WWE Lawler & Jim Ross look smart.
Maniacal: Yeah I am high on life. As I said, they will give a diploma to anyone. Now I see they give Nobel Peace Prizes for absolutely no good reason and once again anyone can get one. Who knows, maybe I will get one of those next.
@BradNC11175 Ya need ta drink a whole lotta Obama Kool-Aid for that. But hell, if they can give one out to a butchering terrorist (Yasser Arafat) and a numb nutz community organizer, you probably stand a good chance.
@MrStrictlyStock I wonder what kinda chaser ObaMao Kool-Aid would make for White Lightning? Perhaps for ACORN's sake we'd have the change the name from White Lightning to Jungle Juice to be politically correct? Ah judging from what I see ya don't need to add anything to ObaMao Kool-Aid to get fucked up. One just needs remind him/herself that the Nobel was named after the guy who invented dynamite to end war to realize the pointlessness of said prize. How did that work out?
@BradNC11175 I think that's all he/she/it wants to do - pick. 'Tis a pity some were never taught to develop a point during their government schooling.
@MrStrictlyStock "develop a point"?! I don't think your gonna get on the White House speech writing or PR team with that kinda attitude sir lol. I don't think MSNBC or any other NBC affiliate allows for such an idea either. I recognize I may not be the best candidate for a spelling bee but point making is no weakness of mine. Apparantly point making is not on the ciriculum at the Liberal School of Thought though.
There is nothing in the constitution that says government programs are unconstitutional. It says that you have the right to a good education and the department of ecucation obviously doesn't deliver, but we live in a much differnet world than we id back then. You don't just simply end something you reform it's policies. Maybe the the departmen of education could provide money to make products for home schooling or grants to go to private schools.
@PhilosophyMeditation The Constitution does not give the Feds a power to create a bureaucracy to regulate education. That is reserved to the states.
Why pay money to a bureaucracy to have them only return a portion of it? It would be much better to fire at least half the bureaucrats and let them get real jobs. And vouchers would be a markedly more efficient way of achieving the same or better results.
@MrStrictlyStock Ed Shultz is a god damned pickle pumper. Everyone hide your gerbals when that fucker is around. Is there a fuck up in America today who is more high upon the ObaMao Kool-Aid than this bitch assed dingle berry right here?
@URFecalMatter Waal, I'll be hornswaggled. I heard that Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, and now yore a tellin' me that Ed Schultz pumps his pickle and uses gerbils for his enemas? Good land o' livin'! What's the world a comin' to?
@MrStrictlyStock whats this world comming to? Just ask Al Gore! He wouldn't lie now would he? Isn't it funny how pathetic little worms like Al "the Snore" Gore and Ed "Stalag 13" Shultz all kinda run in the same pack? Lets not forget Nazi Pelosi, Hitlery Klinton and Barrack ObaMao. They are like shit peas in a shit pod aint they?
Ed Shultz is an entertainer. He takes congressman DR. Paul's last things he would consider cutting, as he needs to find entertaining controversial things to talk about during his "Psycho Talk" segment. Medical Doctor Ron Paul knows a think or two about how the medical and health operations work in the US. Ron Paul didn't have the chance to clearly state his stance, being critical of all sides would make the show not fit the "Psycho Talk" segment. What an uncritical entertainer Ed Shultz is.
@GoLuckyOops So true. I'm not American so I see all of these interviews on-line and it's disgusting how your media doesn't have any journalistic integrity; it's all about entertainment value. I'm going to cum buckets if I ever see a balanced debate on the issues
Ed is hard headed on this one. The negatives outweigh the positives. Did he not hear the ag creates subsidies for 78% of the dep for corporations.

Bronzecop 7 months ago
@Bronzecop
Because they are unconstitutional, let the states and local government decide what's best for education, not the federal government.

@jmjfanss You think the average person would be better off paying tuition for their children from K-12th grade? Think about how expsensive private tuition is, exspecially how the average person in India cannot even send their children to Kindergarden.
Bronzecop 7 months ago
@Bronzecop He did not say that loans would be removed at all. Those would go to something entirely different. In fact, what he is saying is making it a smaller government level. The DOE in Washington is telling every state to do what the DOE says to do. Ex: NCLB (which has brought down the level of education dramatically). RP wants each state to govern itself. Don't you think your own state should have their own say in how their children is taught? Nationalizing everything is just bad...
DaveTheSithLord 4 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord If you want that funding it provides you do what the DoE wants to a certain extent. And no I do not want my state to run itself, this place would be worse than Serbia if it did. Also you know I like the large government here? Because there are so many branches keeping an eye on each other so they dont get too out of hand & I can criticize some branches without hating my nation. Some people hate the guts out of the DoD, but love the shit out of the SD.
Bronzecop 4 months ago
@Bronzecop I don't think you understand... States used to govern themselves, then when things started to get "nationalized", our economy got worse. And actually, you don't need national government entities in order to "keep an eye" on each other. In fact, that doesn't even work. Take for example the DoE... Because of the national implementations that were invented by it, many states' educational systems have gotten worse. This "incentive" for funding with national tests, just takes up time.
DaveTheSithLord 4 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord Why aren't the police force nationalized? No, it's by state. There is a FBI, but the states run their own police force. The fact that states used to run themselves perfectly fine, was proof enough that this system needs reform. If you think this system is working, then just wait till we get $25 trillion in debt, and then a bank ends up buying off our debt, and then this country is now "owned" and for profit only government. Then you can kiss any good state goodbye.
DaveTheSithLord 4 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord The last thing is... States have a reason to be "good". If they want people to live there, they control their own markets, their own education systems, etc. In fact, the people actually control it. They vote for who they want running the state, not worrying about their systems getting controlled by people in DC that don't know shit about the other states. But, if sales tax gets nationalized along with everything else, Oregon will lose it's greatest incentive to live there.
DaveTheSithLord 4 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord Seems your view depends on which administration is in office, the last administration made things very bad for many Departments. With the new adminstration education has become better & more accessible to the people. Besides States here cannot be trusted like Quebec, too irresponsible & with the Civil War in our history people here showed that they couldnt be trusted to themselves. Look at how well other nations that just have only a federal order, they're doing better than us.
Bronzecop 4 months ago
@Bronzecop I believe both are bad. In fact, Obama doubled down on the bad implementations from Obama. In fact, NCLB is one of those things that he has doubled down on. It's a horrible thing that was made by Bush, and Obama continues it. Lol. Quebec?? That is so strange... In fact it was almost half split on wanting to secede from Canada. But anyway, to use something like the "civil war" as an explanation, when in fact that was the reason WHY there was a civil war. Government taking their freedom
DaveTheSithLord 4 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord And I think you need to take a look at other countries more carefully. A lot of them are doing poorly... Like the UK. They have many problems with their country as well.
But not to mention the lack of transparency with "large" governments. Meaning you have no idea where your taxes go. Whereas in smaller governments, your taxes goes to your state. And you will know where they go because if your governor screws up, He's fired.
DaveTheSithLord 4 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord Also, to say that one government is doing better than another is not really a true thing. In fact, most governments are using Keynesian economics.
DaveTheSithLord 4 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord Yeah children's education needs a lot of improvement, but at least the college system has improved. Quebec works cooperatively with Canada, but the states wanting to run themselves did not. Becoming split like Europe (sectionalism) & keep slavery around, not a valid excuse but the war was done. And knowing how the poorest states are in the south I do not think they would last long without cooperating with the federal level like Quebec.
Bronzecop 4 months ago
@Bronzecop What? You don't understand what it means by "working together". Of course there are laws they have to abide by. That's the Constitution... That wouldn't mean there is no "cooperation". There could never be a separation like before. The government was telling the states what to do by trying to follow the Constitution "All men are created equal". As long as they abide by it, there's no problems. Do you understand what "govern themselves" means?
DaveTheSithLord 4 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord And the poorest states are actually in the west. At least the ones with the most debt. But just because you think of something being poor, that means it will break away? I don't know where you're getting that information... No one would secede from the States. There is a national army and a national Constitution. Absolutely no one would be able to do something like that. But under your thoughts, you believe they would, for absolutely no reason.
DaveTheSithLord 4 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord I've been in 46 states, and I see a lot of people who love their country. It would be idiotic to assume people would want to run their own country and economic system... they would immediately become third world. If you think a state shouldn't run itself, then I don't see the reason for any senators, congressman, or governors. Heck, let's have a dictator. He knows best, right? I fail to see how you think there would be zero cooperation.
DaveTheSithLord 4 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord One thing, in Hawaii, they are realizing that they know what's best for their children, and are stepping away from the NCLB. They KNOW that a bunch of old men in a building in DC don't know how to run their state's education, so they are making decisions themselves, weening off the government funding teat. Which is actually the only reason why states go with national implementations... Large government = huge, unpayable debt.
DaveTheSithLord 4 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord I have nothing against Senators, Congress or Governors; unlike in the rest of the world I dislike how the same federal rules dont apply to the state (province) & local levels here. Anti-abortion is nice (not really since it has a correlation with women being found dead in closets) but Basic Human Necessities should not be neglected because of your agenda. I dont want Dictatorship, I want a government like Norway & Japan that disciplines itself to make sure the nation prospers.
Bronzecop 4 months ago
@Bronzecop Woah! Look at what I missed... This guy is a moron... Yes, 150 years later, the south waited to revolt... Why don't you go back to conspiracy forums where you belong. You know nothing of the south. In fact, if any time was an "opportunity" for the south to secede, it would've been in 2008 with Obama being elected. They didn't. And "basic human necessities" is a blanket term for promoting being babied by the government. You assumptions are biased.
DaveTheSithLord 3 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord The truth hurts dont it southern hick? You guys wont revolt like in 1861 because the game is now different especially with I.A. & NATO around. Hmmm being babied by the government huh? Lets see how long you last without medical & housing since those are primary "Basic Human Necessities" XD LMAO ROTF!!! If you think access to higher education is like food stamps you're dead wrong. Dont believe me? Ask the guy who got certified in construction, makes a big difference with college.
Bronzecop 3 months ago
@Bronzecop HAHA! Southern hick? Insulting someone without knowing where they are from or where they live... I'm far from it actually. But hey, if it makes you feel better to insult rather than speak intelligently, then you must feel like you are already losing the debate. And for your information, I don't get any help from government. Unlike most "users" who milk the state for everything they got, I don't take handouts. Everything else your spewing is not what I was talking about.
DaveTheSithLord 3 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord By the way. It's ROFL not ROTF... At least pay attention when you are rolling on the floor while typing.
DaveTheSithLord 3 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord Your attitude differs none from them, so theres no difference between the two of you. Ok you don't need help, so why go against others who need it? You don't know what you're talking about when you say "handout", a payed for education isnt free like food stamps where its given to you; you have to work towards it & abide by the rules or you wont get it. The lingo can be used both ways moron, so desparate to scratch at me lol.
Bronzecop 3 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord Why dont you quit talking to yourself & admit the real reason why you dis-like the federal order. You're good at playing denial despite there are plenty of ignorant southerners wanting to turn against the nation again like they did in 1861, the federal order is keeping a good eye out to make sure that doesnt happen again. The states can do well like other small countries, but its a no brainer that the south would fall apart if they attempted to.
Bronzecop 4 months ago
@DaveTheSithLord There are plenty of amendments in the Constitution that the southern states do not wish to follow. Especially in the 10th poorest state, in its own constitution that would allow slavery if the federal level didnt exist. The southern states do not wish to cooperate, that was always their wish. Don't try to twist meanings of words "Govern Themselves" always have had the same meaning here, be like a sovreign state where no one keeps them in line.

People use the Constitution like people use a Holy Book (Bible, Quaran) to justify things nobody would benefit from. The Constitution had it's time but it was written by a bunch of former slave owners, I think we can implement rational and sense without any outdated document, thank you very much.
cupocity303 11 months ago
@cupocity303
Things are so fucked up now because this country has let them get away with it.
rmccay88 10 months ago
@cupocity303 There were dozens of founding fathers and architects of the Constitution, and not all of them were slave owners. But if you want to live in a country where your rights can be voted away by 51% of the population, i hear England is a nice place to live.
OrangeMango30 7 months ago
@OrangeMango30 What rights, you have no rights, if that's the case. As George Carlin once said, we either have a unlimited rights (including the right to healthcare, food, shelter < the basics for living) OR we have no rights at all. In which case you have the right to tell me THAT YOU HAVE RIGHTS and I have the right to tell you that you don't have any rights, and shoot you in your face, point blank. <<<Classic George Carlin.

@wdrakesp Take your pick.
BradNC11175 1 year ago
@BradNC11175 I think that's all he/she/it wants to do - pick. 'Tis a pity some were never taught to develop a point during their government schooling.
MrStrictlyStock 1 year ago
@MrStrictlyStock "develop a point"?! I don't think your gonna get on the White House speech writing or PR team with that kinda attitude sir lol. I don't think MSNBC or any other NBC affiliate allows for such an idea either. I recognize I may not be the best candidate for a spelling bee but point making is no weakness of mine. Apparantly point making is not on the ciriculum at the Liberal School of Thought though.

@wdrakesp Is your inability to make any point yourself the reason you play spell checker?
A little remedial class in English Composition should be beneficial.

BS
There is nothing in the constitution that says government programs are unconstitutional. It says that you have the right to a good education and the department of ecucation obviously doesn't deliver, but we live in a much differnet world than we id back then. You don't just simply end something you reform it's policies. Maybe the the departmen of education could provide money to make products for home schooling or grants to go to private schools.
PhilosophyMeditation 2 years ago

URFecalMatter 1 year ago
@URFecalMatter Waal, I'll be hornswaggled. I heard that Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, and now yore a tellin' me that Ed Schultz pumps his pickle and uses gerbils for his enemas? Good land o' livin'! What's the world a comin' to?
MrStrictlyStock 1 year ago
@MrStrictlyStock whats this world comming to? Just ask Al Gore! He wouldn't lie now would he? Isn't it funny how pathetic little worms like Al "the Snore" Gore and Ed "Stalag 13" Shultz all kinda run in the same pack? Lets not forget Nazi Pelosi, Hitlery Klinton and Barrack ObaMao. They are like shit peas in a shit pod aint they?

Ed Shultz what a gas bag!

Is it just me, or has everyone on Earth besides Ron Paul and Peter Schiff gone crazy?

I'm still around.
This SMNBC guy should put a water board in his interorgation room.
This is what Americans want. I tell them they want this so they do.
