well technically they're not zombies, but infected. I don't think they are "dead", but have some type of rabies/rage. you get alot more than 10 running at you at times, having to headshot all of them will make the game impossible at higher diff.

yes they are infected but from what i beleve zombies are they are infected with a virus that effects their brain making them seem dead and crave flesh not "brains" they infect other people by possibly biting them and sending the virus into their blood stream but the only reason they die easily or kinda easily is because the virus makes there body deterieate (im sorry for my spelling mistakes) makeing them look dead and weaker than normal humans once again im sorry for all my spelling mistakes
