SOOOOOO MUCH Talent!!Love the 2 Keyboards!U Gotta love Charlie (THUMPER)on drums!I think i left NY @ this time. Didn't we do a gig with Billy Rose prior on Tulip? Thrill me with ur acumen! Over and Out! Steve Samos!!!!
The Whizz Kids, Melange and Larrys last solo project r just a few bands that taught me how to hone my skills.FYI.after his Mom and Hank passed, Larry wrote a bunch of cool tunes that i had the pleasure of making a contibution too... it was just like the Seventies..Needless to say Larry was Larry!
Steve Samos -Drummer "Still waiting 4 his phone call"
Steve, Larry loved you man !!!! If you check your answering machine you will see that we called you a few times...you must have been out powering your drumkit with some other dudes that night !! Anyway, those days of Melange (Larry,Steve,Dave,Basia and Frank)were among the best and you were a BIG part of that !!!
Be well and know that this phone will always accept your call !
This guy taught so many young kids about music that have gone on to do many things. I sit her with a friend of greater than 20 years remembering our lessons with Larry. Sitting in the living room with his folks and the dog "Thurman" was a weekly ritual that I miss, Thanks for posting this so that we can remember this teacher that deserves more recognition.
This recording was captured in September of 2006. We are set up in front of Larry's house that day. It is hard to believe that Larry had the demon cancer seed inside of him on that day. It was not apparent to any of us in the band. He seemed no different...Sadly he left us only a few months later.
Rest in peace Larry we love you.Thank you for giving me the part of life I love the most, the gift of music.A true hero to so many. You were the best teacher, player, friend and neighbor,I'll forever be indebted to you.You made this world a better place,I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late.-
