The voice over is bullshit. His engine blew - that's what the smoke was.

Also he is racing a Supersport 600cc bike with only limited engine modifications allowed. Back then they would only do 165mph - certainly not 205mph - and not at the point on the race track.

Even now maybe 12 years later, they will do maybe 180mph given a really long straight.
