  • Both versions of this are great!! Thanks for sharing them!

  • @eoj2495 Glad you enjoyed it,thanks so much for commenting on it!!!

  • What is the difference to the ''BOXTOP'' issued on Tune Town 501?

The Tune Town version credits Ike Turner, Carlson Oliver & Little Ann.

The flip side is ''Calypso Love Song''

  • Tommy Hodge And Billy Gayles Are On This One,And Tina a.k.a Little Ann Is Not

  • Comment removed

  • @boogaludo Little-Ann eventually known as Tina Turner (her first recording ever was the Tune Town version... she was living in Saint Louis at that time... and they recorded that in East Saint Louis).

  • the girl is "little Ann " now the timeless Tina Turner

  • If Im Not Mistaken,Isn't The Little Ann One The First Issue On Tune Town?

  • I think you're right it's a little bit diferent :) Anna Mae didn't sing in this version

  • I'd Love To Hear The One With Her In It,Do You Have It By Any Chance?

  • GOOD TUNE MIKE, NEW TO MY EARS

  • Along with Buster Brown's 'Fannie Mae' this must be one of the last 78s issued in the States. In India they actually ireleased 78s by The Beatles.

  • 78s were being pressed in America until at least 1960 in very limited numbers. I have verified the existance of a Bill Haley 78 released in 1960. Late 78s were mainly pressed for juke boxes and low income markets because a lot of people didn't switch to newer 45/33 rpm equipment. A few collectors have theorized about 78s being pressed until early '62. Google "late 78s" and some interesting stuff pops up. Kama Sutra, Candlelight and Lost Nite pressed limited juke box 78s in the 70s

  • I'm looking at a 78 Candlelight copy of 'Tormented' by The Heartbeats right now!

  • I have tormented on network

  • That's great. The group's first, isn't it?

  • Yes,Your right,But this was the only one that they released under the name Heartbeats Quintet. Then they changed their name to just The Heartbeats

  • Very cool... Candlelight didn't press many of those. Any Candlelight 78s are very rare.

  • By the way.. Chess1458 is my buddy Mike. He's got one of the greatest collections I've ever seen. If it exists on 78 this guy will find it. He's got some damn good 45s as well.

  • Im proud to say that PJ is a good friend of mine, and a very knowledgeble collector.

  • Great tune!! I never heard this before. Cobra'a a rare label to begin with.. A 78 from 1959?? How do you find this stuff????
