  • 4.4 with a 720 is good. My 965be on stock air runs 4.3 no prob, but gets ugly around 4.5

  • i can easily get my system to boot at 4.4ghz and i have a 955 with a zalman 9700-led. id like you see you run OCCT linpack test for at least 10 mins as im sure u wont pass. the max i can get a linpack to pass is around 3.9ghz even then my cpu is screaming at 1.45v @ 71c and cooking. water cooling is the logical next step.

  • I'm sure you can and I'm happy for you but this is a 720BE which doesn't fare so well as a 955....very few have hit 4.4

If it was linx stable then the video name would be linux stable on air , some food for thought ;)

  • The LINPACK Benchmarks are a measure of a system's floating point computing power. They measure how fast a computer solves a dense N by N system of linear equations and stress the cpu to max for overclocking stability testing. NOT linux lol. What i was saying is getting a system to boot overclocked is easy, but it dont count if its not stable under load.... download OCCT then repost video.

  • @ch3wonthis nice comeback

  • commonly engineering samples are ID's as Opterons.....I assure you however that's a phenom II ;)

  • I can do this to, but try run OCCT at that speed and see ur cores temp =D...

Now i have my Phenom II X3 720 BE unlocked with 4th core, all 4 cores runnin @ 3.8Ghz stable and i passes all benchs!!!

  • Damm sweet.... i got 3.8 and that worries me lol

    5/5

  • 1,6V isn't healthy for your CPU.

  • Watch some other video's done by me and then ask yourself if i'm actually concerned about the health of my cpu's ;)

  • omfg you tormentor :D

  • Gotta love the death of the cold bug ;)

  • rofl

  • WOW!!! look at that voltage!!

  • Awesome OC!

  • ok ime gona go for the true black 120mm,as u say its error proof cheers mate

  • i want the thermalright true black with a noctua 120mm fan for my phenom 2 920 is the one u have any good or what about the xgimatics darknight.

p.s i wont be goin near 4.4 more like 3.6

  • I'm not to fond of the xigamateks hold down clamp.........The trues mounting hardware is error proof for AMD and doesn't budge at all. I bought the xigamatek after owning 2 trues........its ok but you get what you pay for.

  • Sweet OC on that chip 5/5

  • nice chip (ES)

    are you 24/7 at 3.6 - 4.0?

    also what mobo? 790GX?

  • I think I primed 3800+ on air..seems to be a board limit with PWM.

3d bench stable 4070, PI and a few other benches 4.2 ish.

  • what is considered Stable?

    Nice Effort, love the setup!

  • Stable has many meaning windows stable means windows and some programs are running and not crashing...Its hard enough to get a cpu-z validation at this speed however much less idle in windows.

  • i would define stable as the highest 'usable' speed, as in using the computer for games/applications/benchmarks without issue.

I've the same CPU and on stock retail fan it happily runs at 3.6

  • Any chance of you getting your hands on a GA-MA790FXT-UD5P to test

  • UD5P Already in the works ;)

  • SWEET !
