Regarding meat, I try whenever I can to eat meat ethically etc. like free range. However, I hunt frequently as part of a self reliant and outdoor lifestyle. Not to say that the only ethical means of eating meat is killing it yourself, just that I believe that anyone who eats meat should do it once in their life.

hello from australia, i could not watch the video of the animal abuse,it just upsets me too much. Everytime i go to the supermarket i think of all that meat on the shelves and how it got there. Please if you cannot be fully vegetarian have most of your meals meat free or at least twice a week. If the government can turn a blind eye to this abuse of animals there is not much trouble to them to do it with humans. Push for compassion in farming. Money is the root of all evil.

It is often quoted that many give up being vegetarian/vegan due to ill health. Please understand it is not the diet, it is due to lack of understanding,of how to cook,of how to balance foods,acids & alkalines etc. The Japanese used to live longer than any nation. They have been used to a pescatarian/vegetarian diet for centuries. I advise people to eat more Japanese foods (not Waggamama!) to see the huge difference in quality. I have been a raw vegan for a very long time... I only eat what i grow and have done years of research to find we do not need meat for protein, greens and legumes have enough for everyone. Exercise keeps my weight up along with bananas and avocados.I used to eat allot of nuts until i learnt about amino acids and bypassing the protein. You will not live on salad, without animal fats,dairy and GM foods we still make ice-cream biscuits cheesecake with organic foods. look after yourself.

I think the gap between seeing the suffering of those animals & eating meat is dependent on how sensitive one is to the suffering of other living things. Some ppl just do not care, others care to an extent, whilst a minority cares enough to act...and choose to stop eating meat or alter their eating habits. I stopped eating meat because I equated an animal's suffering with suffering WRIT LARGE. It was a process I wanted no part of. Too bad that those who care are viewed as "cranks" & oddballs.

I agree whole heartedly with you in principle. However,fear paralyses you and I believe it is possible to go from anger into action. Only then, when the results of the action empower you, is it possible for the anger to dissipate and be replaced by love. I am not suggesting it is impossible but I have never seen an example of fear replaced by love without an ascension through anger first.

easy one that: fresh raw vegetables are cheaper than meats/fish. If people give up smoking (poisons) and drinking (acidics) aswell - problem solved, you've now maximised your health and richer for it. ps. too many instant meals & junk foods will make you ill (too much acidic content). I know some people hate cooking but its fun after a while. :-) And ys you can still be big and macho with veggies. Actually meats make you fat not healthy (body can't convert the junk so it stays in your system).

how do you feel about cities ? the port and lane system of the streets..no real freedom of movement...the saturation of billboards and signs is constant...every direction leads you to a damn product...the density of the people makes everything viral. Here in the U.S. we boast of "rights" frequently. However, these rights are periodically suspended. So really we have a list of privileges, which can be revoked. "Rights" imply permanence. hello from australia, i could not watch the video of the animal abuse,it just upsets me too much. Everytime i go to the supermarket i think of all that meat on the shelves and how it got there. Please if you cannot be fully vegetarian have most of your meals meat free or at least twice a week. If the government can turn a blind eye to this abuse of animals there is not much trouble to them to do it with humans. Push for compassion in farming. Money is the root of all evil.

Cripes... this one hit me pretty heavy. My wife witnessed the treatment of dairy cows (the supposedly 'safe' cows) and saw how mistreated they were - she became a vegan for year... and suffered malnutrition. I keep taking deep breaths... the pain of what I know is happening out there is only rivaled by my anger... It is often quoted that many give up being vegetarian/vegan due to ill health. Please understand it is not the diet, it is due to lack of understanding,of how to cook,of how to balance foods,acids & alkalines etc. The Japanese used to live longer than any nation. They have been used to a pescatarian/vegetarian diet for centuries. I advise people to eat more Japanese foods (not Waggamama!) to see the huge difference in quality. I have been a raw vegan for a very long time... I only eat what i grow and have done years of research to find we do not need meat for protein, greens and legumes have enough for everyone. Exercise keeps my weight up along with bananas and avocados.I used to eat allot of nuts until i learnt about amino acids and bypassing the protein. You will not live on salad, without animal fats,dairy and GM foods we still make ice-cream biscuits cheesecake with organic foods. look after yourself.

moved to the country a few years ago my neighbor is a great help in teaching a city boy to turn country we grow a lot of veggies enough to feed us 10 times over and give the rest away. I think the gap between seeing the suffering of those animals & eating meat is dependent on how sensitive one is to the suffering of other living things. Some ppl just do not care, others care to an extent, whilst a minority cares enough to act...and choose to stop eating meat or alter their eating habits. I stopped eating meat because I equated an animal's suffering with suffering WRIT LARGE. It was a process I wanted no part of. Too bad that those who care are viewed as "cranks" & oddballs.

It is scary, that we eat these birds, after subjecting them to that kind of life. Not only is it sick and twisted, but it CANNOT be good for you, to consume something which has had such a terrible, and sufferng life. Its HORMONES must have been screwed up, and with all the steroids, it becomes a sick mess of ill health.
I was veggie for about 3 yrs, but it didnt suit my lifestyle, either. I now eat LESS meat, purposely,a nd, like you, choose organic and free range, where possible.

There will come a time very soon when all our freedom of speech will be taken. But laws have to be made first, at the right time when everyone is nice and controlable... I agree whole heartedly with you in principle. However,fear paralyses you and I believe it is possible to go from anger into action. Only then, when the results of the action empower you, is it possible for the anger to dissipate and be replaced by love. I am not suggesting it is impossible but I have never seen an example of fear replaced by love without an ascension through anger first.

True, so long as they remember to forgive and move on to find other ways, we will all find that so much easier then saying in anger- anger plays on our emotions and we all must be careful.

As for the animals, I don't think I have much compassion for them, I don't for any animals really. In fact, I don't think I feel much compassion for most humans. I will bet you that you could create a vegetarian diet that would suit you. Not only suit you, but suit you better than any meat diet.
Although I do eat eggs, which are supposedly the best source of protein, and I also use dairy products. I may need to do some rationalizing about that after seeing these chickens, but even so their beaks are cut off, I am not eating their corpses.
Soybeans give complete protein, meaning all the essential aminos your body needs to create all its proteins.

easy one that: fresh raw vegetables are cheaper than meats/fish. If people give up smoking (poisons) and drinking (acidics) aswell - problem solved, you've now maximised your health and richer for it. ps. too many instant meals & junk foods will make you ill (too much acidic content). I know some people hate cooking but its fun after a while. :-) And ys you can still be big and macho with veggies. Actually meats make you fat not healthy (body can't convert the junk so it stays in your system).

I am so very sorry. I too watched the chicken mistreatment video. However, I am not the man with the integrity of AntiTerrorist (the original) ... And as I ate my low carb dinner of chicken breast smothered in honey flavored BBQ, diced tomatoes, melted chess with buttered rolls (ok, hell with the carb count) I for just a second had the thought of the poor chicken. Then I ate and was happy. See, be it a chicken or a sheeple, you still get eaten and treatment forthwith is an obselete by product.

Some people would say we are no more than dirt that happened to come together in a certain way, like a group of gears, levers, pulleys, etc. to think it is beyond what it is, to feign consciousness. Our purpose is no more than the dirt we are made from.

I've been a veggie for over five years now, since an Anthony Robbins seminar - he's a smart cookie coz not only does he show you some of the cruelty happening in the abbatoirs, but he makes it clear what's IN the meat that goes IN your body! (Uric acid and adrenalin, among other things)
