The doctor who treated her said her injuries included a "broken arm, a broken thigh and a dislocated ankle," consistent with a car accident, and had no injuries suggestive of being shot or stabbed. This finding was CONFIRMED by a US AMRY report which stated that initial details about the incident (including the claim that she had fought before being captured and that she was stabbed) were INCORRECT.

Actually she was never in captivity and she want technically a prisoner of war. She was "captured" by medical personnel and treated for the injuries she sustained in the accident. She was never in the captivity of military personnel and te doctor even tried to return her to the Americans but the ambulance was shot at as it approached the checkpoint and forced to turn around.

And the REAL reason why her convoy got ambushed (and yes, it did) was because her stupid LT didn't update his intel and they turned down the wrong road. On top of that she didn't clean her freaking weapon and it jammed. She is, by no means, a hero.
