  • Looks very like the Spectrum version by Beam Software (Melbourne House).

  • this game had a mode where you could design your own landscape, including weird impossibilities that would make the software glitch out. very cool.

  • Say what u want, I owned a trs-80 model 1, it ran on cassette tapes, and it was awsome, i graduated to an atari and it went in the closet. Too bad I didnt keep it.

  • Funny how all the enthusiasm from the early 80's come back. No matter how crappy this all looks according to current computer game standards!

  • that sound sure is annoying :s

    cool game though

  • I loved this game, used to play it as 7-years old :D

  • and at the end.. lol FAIL

  • What a gorgeous game. Brilliant use of limited res graphics. The sound adds a huge amount too. Lovely programming example.

  • Reminds me of Vectrex Scramble. I didnt think the TRS could make all those sound effects though

  • @HueyHoggsbrother yeah, me either. mine only made a few beeps

  • Eventually, Tandy did release a Color Computer but, again, they misread the market by not providing more support for the new machine, giving it limited power and expansion capability. Tandy DID score a big plus by offering the Extended Basic package which supported better resolution and easy to use graphic and sound commands, but it still was not a match to Apple's or Commodore's offer. It was, nevertheless, affordable and easy to program Microsoft's Basic. I loved the TRS-80 & the CoCo both.

  • The reason for the crappy graphics is because Tandy figured the computer would be used for mostly small business applications. Even though they could have design a color computer with better resolution, they misread the potential market. Even so, the TRS-80 was a hugely popular computer because of its affordability and options. It's a shame Tandy did not give it more support, mainly relying on the more knowledgeable sales people at their branch stores, if there were any.

  • oooo unlucky!

  • One of the best game on TRS-80 model 1. You can design your own "tunnel". The end (the boss) is also nice to fight.

Great game. I have made a similar game in TRS-80 model 1 in assembler. But this one is great.

  • @dragondefeu28 : is the assembler listing of your version

    of this game still available?

  • I like those little spining radar things, at least, I think they are radar things :D

    Nice version of scramble

  • reminds me of the Konami arcade classic, Scramble.

  • Given the shape of the ship, and the white "bullets", I can see why they called this game Penetrator.

  • looks like a kickass game
