All proceeds went to victims of crimes against police. I am from Philly and am close to this situation. Mumia abu Jamaal did in fact murder officer Danny Faulkner. Be clear to the facts, the vicitm is Maureen Faulkner. Mumia is a cold blooded killer of a Philadelphia officer, Danny Faulkner.
Mumia's brother was a witness at the crime and the only thing he said was he had nothing to do with it and has not come foward even all these years later to defend his brother.If he was innocent,his brother would have said so but he never has.

Have you guys done any research on the MOVE organization and the "MOVE 9"? I met one of the prisoners that was just up for parole. The Philadelphia police and the Criminal justice system is very racist and one sided. I beleive that in the Move case there was ALOT of evidence tampering since they destroy the scene 2 hours after the arrest!I've talked to one of the political prisoners and have heard his story, but I can't find any information on how or why the could charge these nine people.

I sympathize with Mrs. Faulkner, but her continued accusation that Mumia killed her husband distracts people from the fact that Mumia did not receive a fair trial.
Maybe Mumia did kill Faulker, but that must be determined in a just trial.

Responding to the dialogue below. Yes, this show was great, and we in the movement are so thankful that Matt Lauer had the guts to ask some fair questions... It made Faulkner look very close-minded. No wonder she and Smerconish were so pissed about the show....
This was an amazing story because it came after several weeks of serious grassroots pressure from around the world to make sure the show was fair. Also, we had been trying for over a year to get the big media to report on the new photos.

Have you guys done any research on the MOVE organization and the "MOVE 9"? I met one of the prisoners that was just up for parole. The Philadelphia police and the Criminal justice system is very racist and one sided. I beleive that in the Move case there was ALOT of evidence tampering since they destroy the scene 2 hours after the arrest!I've talked to one of the political prisoners and have heard his story, but I can't find any information on how or why the could charge these nine people.

it's clear they were sentenced for being in MOVE... Officially, the DA worked to do this by using a fraudulent 'conspiracy' charge based upon when MOVE took up arms in front of their house on May 20, 1977. Apparently MOVE kept disturbing the peace. Still doesn't give law enforcement the right to firebomb an entire city block. Last time the cops got called on me for playing music too loud, they just knocked on the front door, not punch gel explosives through my roof and kill all but one person, including a 14 year old kid.

This video is just another example of how racism is embedded in our sense of justice and the belief in the justice system. Justice is a racist concept that is applied too many times to explain or rather, excuse systemic racism.

you are all stupid... everyone of your myths about mumia being innocent has been debunked, every claim that has gotten to trial (there are hundreds of claims too ludicrous to go to the court) has been debunked by a judge. Excellent point. If they're going to convict Mumia, they need to do so with proper criminal procedure. BTW, mjmsjp04, you should be proud of your people. They're the only race that has actually had a culture in this country. Imagine what this country would be like without black people. Of course new evidencial factors of Mumia's innocence are going to come up, it's cause Mumia is innocent and these factors have been hidden, does anybody have any idea how corrupted Philly's police and courts were and how (in a lot of instances) they still are? The Philly District Attorney's office literally removed a license belonging to an unidentified African American male from Daniel Faulkner's chest, Mumia needs a new freaking trial.

Note that witnesses Veronica Jones and Dessie Hightower both said they saw someone run away before police arrived. They were both intimidated by police because of this.

Yes, I think much of this comes clear from The Today Show when Lauer asks her if she ever "allows herself to consider" if Mumia deserves a new trial. Faulkner, motivated by hate, wants Mumia dead, whether or not he had a fair trial.

Can someone that supports mumia answer who is the real killer if Daniel was found with the bullets from mumia's gun in his chest and head and Daniel's bullet was in mumia's chest where mumia was sitting on the street less than 15 feet from Daniel. And mumia's brother who saw the whole thing refused to testify on his own brother's behalf when he was on trial for his life. If nothing about this is crazy then you need medication.

Kenneth Freeman and Arnold Beverly shot and killed Daniel Faulkner, Faulkner was claimed to be murdered with a 44 calibur gun and Mumia's hands were never even tested to see if he fired a gun (which could've been done even if he was in the hospital) if Faulkner had any 38 calibur bullets in him they most likely were from Kenneth Freeman, this supports Arnold Beverly's claim that he "was hired along with another guy to shoot and kill officer Faulkner".

Well, Faulkner being shot and killed certainly did silence him, and I've never seen anyone deny that. However, as I've argued, without a fair trial, one cannot say that Mumia was the shooter. Note that the VAST majority of Mumia supporters do not celebrate Faulkner's death.

Sabo's "fry the nigger" comment is very serious (and has been essentially confirmed by the Judge that also heard it), despite being flippantly discarded by the anti-Mumia folks and the court system.

I agree the transcripts are important to read, however, as someone who has read them, it takes a very long time. Further, I don't think one needs to read the transcripts to conclude that the trial was unfair. I think the biggest "myth" is that the 82 trial was fair.
