@ttiiyy Thanks for bringing up those points. I totally agree that the top dogs of the UC system (President Yudof, etc.) have exorbitant salaries that continue to go up and that's definitely not right. We student government leaders take careful incremental steps toward improvement. Many people need to realize that students don't just protest. We strategize and propose innovative solutions. Hopefully, we can shift some power from the regents to the students (who actually pay for most of it now)
Some UCI liberal students are probably not working, and they don't pay taxes, either. They're brainwahsed by their liberal professors, who are in bed with those SHAMLESS UC administrators, who claim that they deserve the same benefits and salaries as those who work in the private sector. Yeah, as if they would survive in the private sector.
Fortunately, some UCI students, professors, and Democratic lawmakers are still willing to go out and challenge corrupt UC Regents!
The student at 1:17 is a FUCKING idiot. These UC administrators were not paid so ridiculously high back in the old days when the education's affordable.
If nobody is willing to address the corruption problems within the UC system, raising taxes will not solve a damn thing. OC Register has done reports on UC system's problems.
Everybody should google this article:UC salary criticisms fuel student protests
@pinkfloydfan111 I see what you mean about inflation (I.e. it was "free" back then to go to college and now it's ten of thousands) but the student regent is mainly pointing out the moral imperative to help the rest of society out with something that used to come easy. Put that free education to use so that our country can have good education today. It is a bit of a time shift flaw to say that what was a certain way back then should hold true today but it's more of an appeal to emotion due to th
@Pleppit Education has never been free because it's all paid by Americans. The money does not fall from the sky. The education used to be a lot more affordable back then because UC administrators did not have the guts to give themselves the kinds of benefits and salaries that CEOs do in the private sector. It's sad that our public educational system can be as corrupt as the private sector.

@Pleppit Some liberal students just don't get it. UC system is trying to expand itself uncontrollably and raising its own salaries and benefits packages. If we don't control this spending process, no tax increase will be enough to fill that never ending blackhole.
I'm not a Republican, but I hate CORRUPTION.
Before you judge me, read this OC Register article and see what some UC professors, who still have shame, have got to say. It's good to know that not all UC profs are RADICAL LIBERALS
