Finally I found a real version..not exactly the same as the movie...but the emotion is still there...and it is still better than the crap they produce today....thanks for the upload....
Though Leadbelly wrote many great songs, I remember hearing "Birmingham Jail " before Leadbelly became known in the 1940s. I think Leadbelly served time in Texas and Louisiana.
As for the pictures I saw men on the chain gang when I was very young.
didn't realize just how many songs were ripped-off from guys like leadbelly...if he was alive today,he'd be a millionare. The pictures are hard to look at in this video-they make a strong point.
