  • Best Christmas song ever :)

  • PLEASE, what is the name of the old priest or preacher? Isnt it Robert Schuller? Thank You very much.

  • I can´t think of any better singer in the world. David Phelps is with me on my iPhone from i wake up till I go to sleep. FANTASTIC singer and man.

Hope I see him in Norway soon.

  • i cant find the song named "the signer" in the movie of same name _ one film of gerard depardieu. Any one can help me, please? Thanks so much

  • @cutrangem This song isn't in any movie that I know of. David Phelps wrote it especially for his Christmas album One Wintry Night.

  • david i will be heart broken if you dont make it to heaven! look forward to seeing you there your voice is a blessing keep singing for jesus

  • @jordan12960 I don't think you need to worry about David not making it to heaven.

  • I love this song. Very very creative. I wrote a paper about this song in my music class. I loved how he took one of the shortest sayings in the bible like let there be light and used it. People automatically think it was onyle for creation, but actually in every situation he steps into he says let there be light., and let along the metaphor of God as the writer of everything and that there are different verses throughout time but still leads to the same chorus of let there be light.

  • May the Lord be with you and use you always to bless others, David! Thank you for the song and your life for Him.

  • Love you David Phelps!!! Such an inspiration!!!!!

  • Awesome David Phelps.... :)

  • I had an hour of power... except it was with shots of beer

  • what a great person David is

  • my god this song is amazing

  • This man is amazing.

  • If there is but one complaint I have towards Mr. Phelps, it is that he has too many instruments and extra parts behind him. All that man needs is his voice! Don't get me wrong, it still sounds great. But I do wish he was church of Christ ;)

  • @suziepunisher he is lol search him with the gvb he was just payed to do the hour of power when his solo carreer was taking off

  • he's alot better on the CD..... I actually have to sing this for a cantata and it's been a real pain trying to practice this song when he puts so much of his own style into the way he sings the song.....

  • David Phelps is Southern Baptist. He attended Baylor University

  • His religion is Christianity, but his Denomination is unknown to me.

  • no david phelps is not catholic

  • not that it is that important, but do u know what religion is he? ... just interested

  • christain

  • christian? there is more than one form of christianity on this earth..do you know it more exactly..I think it is more than clear that he believes in jesus^^

  • he's saved thats all that matters

  • AMEN!!

  • He's baptist....not that it matters. Right?

  • @ lovegospel777

he is a Christian Southern Baptist, and his Philosophy is Fundamentalism. but calling Christianity a religion is belittling our Love for the Lord, Christianity is not a religion, but is something more. Jesus Christ was Anti-Religious, that is why the Religious Leaders persecuted him.

  • what's name this song ???

  • This song is called The Singer and it can be found on David Phelps' Christmas Album One Wintry Night. The whole album is wonderful. Truly a masterpiece!!

  • wait a minute ...david phelps is catholic??? why whit the Pope?

  • David has the most amazing voice.

  • Great song! Powerful! And I bet that Priest would beat Sauron and Saruman any day! With only his left hand.

  • I loved this song and listened to it soo many times.

And then I realized that at 3:48 one of the backup singers blows it! I'm surprised it didn't throw him off! It's practically blaring if you listen for it. lol

  • lol..

    nice catch..

    still an awesome song tho

  • I agree it's a great video and song. Just thought it was funny. And shows I watched it too many times!

  • LOL. I heard it that singer mess up the first time I listened to it and I was like, "What the??" I couldn't believe my ears. Indeed nice catch.

  • Examining the two female singers I'm pretty sure it was the brunette that messed up. Not that it matters.

  • i went to 3:48 and there is nothing wrong with what the vocalist is doing...it fits the chord and its fine. Amazing piece of music!

  • You must not have heard what we heard then. lol

And yes it is a great piece!

  • btw... nothing will throw David off! lol.

  • hahah thats awesome

  • that was AMAZING. god gave him a grea blessing. he is sooooooooooooooo lucky. god bless and happy sabbath

  • This is the best artist the hour of power has ever invited. God bless the Hour of Power and David Phelps. Love from Holland, Marianne

  • Shades of "Revelation" :o) Yet another good song made brilliant by David's amazing, God given talent. Considering it was taped live, an uplifting and totally enjoyable performance. As the manager of a Christian radio station, let me tell you David gets quite a bit of air play in our little corner of God's great vineyard.

  • Now that he's releasing his new love songs album, I hope he's not attempting to expand his horizons into the pop/secular world...

  • mjam, I don't believe David is trying to do that! The love song CD he just came out with was just songs that he grew up listening to, songs in which a lot of his phans asked him to sing and record. Although I must say that I have listened to almost all the songs on that new CD and every song could be sang to the Lord as well as a husband or wife. I love it and can't wait til it comes out. But no worries my phriend, he will continue to sing for the Lord, this you can be sure of!

  • to organizer5 "every song could be sang to the Lord as well as a husband or wife"

what? open you eyes ! you know what the lyrics of nessun dorma mean? ppl come on dont be blinded, david is not a god hes just a great great singer, but he makes mistakes too and coming up with this pop cd was one of them.

elvis was too a GVB member and good singer but then glory went up to his head and look where he ended. DO NOT TRY TO JUSTIFY SUCH ACTS, sorry cant agree

  • No, I don't think he will. There are several Christian songs on The Voice. I would like for some of his music to get secular airplay, though. Like the way Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, and Switchfoot do. Expose the secular world to this man's amazing, God glorifying music. After all, Mary Did You Know if played on secular stations...but no, David won't go secular. I don't believe he will, anyways.

  • Just so ya know, I heard him say just the other day when asked if his newest CD is a cross-over to secular and he said "absolutely not...that is NOT what I was trying to do with that CD and music...I am not crossing over." Thought you may like to know I actually heard him say that in an interview!

  • LOOOOOVE David, but I really can't stand the backup singers...

  • its just amazing!!

and I have to say that the backing vocal was great too!!

    god bless them all

  • What a wonderful Christmas son. David is such a fine talent. He sings from his soul. His tenor voice is unmatched. When I read people who post a negative about David, I reflect on wise words from a counselor, "When you see the negative, that is not about what you see, that is about YOU." I try to see the positive and that is doubly good... what you see and you. David brings the positive out in the world. I always see the positive when I hear him. Lord has blessed us with David's life.

  • I've heard David sing this before but never knew he had written it. It's brilliant, I love it

  • It's a sad fact that in the "industry" appearance plays an enormous role. When David lost all the weight, grew out his hair just alittle and highlighted it blonde, it took him to a whole different level! It gave him beautiful stage presence. He looked 10 years younger than he did before the transformation.

  • i love David's songs. God Bless you and your family!

  • I love the song, creates a great visual image, but the beginning with the "ooh's" sound a lot like startrek lol

  • What's going on with all the plants? It's like church from the RainForest Cafe. Geez- what were they thinking? Great pipes, though.

  • That church is always that way. Lots of money spent on plants.

  • he looks better and sounds great, he has a bit of his weight back and that is good, he sounds just as amazing as he did before!! Greatest singer in the world!!

  • excellent...i just have no more words to describe it... one of my favourite songs from the one wintry night album... :)

  • ta jodio david phelps

  • ufff simplemente the best tenor alive!!!

  • I wonder why he doesn't get more play...even on Christian stations.

He really is phenomenal, and I enjoy his singing more than most any other's.

  • im surprised hes not more popular too. they dont even play him on our radio stations. He could have his own radio station hes so good. LoL GOD BLESS

  • The best tenor of the world.

David, siempre alabando a Dios mediante su gran voz y melodía.

Sin duda el mejor tenor del mundo!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's always been strange to me that he's not more popular then he is. David easily has the best voice I've ever heard... and he's one of the few artists who sounds better live then on a cd

  • That's a real shame... I don't find his songs badly written (he writes most of them it seems), but if I were in his industry I could see why people wouldn't want to help promote him because of the caliber of his amazing voice.

  • Cheezy? Cheezy? I respectfully submit that I don't think David's songs are 'cheezy.' They all "speak" to me. :) But, hey, I love cheese.

And I do agree with your statement that "he is soooo amazing!" And, he's a really nice guy in person.

  • I am happy you get something out of his songs--that is his purpose. I personally get something out of one or two per album, but the rest are really written poorly--as if some little kid of the age of 12 that has just been saved wrote them. Never the less, he is amazing as a singer and there is no one else on the scene quite like him--yet. ;)

  • It really doesn't matter who is jealous of him God is still God Almighty to promote whoever He wants to and He certainly will my friends!

  • O cara eh bom d++

  • I Love it!.. even though the choir sounds like a bunch of chicken in the beginning of the song hehe

  • amém..

concerteza é o melhor tenor do mundo!

  • Thanks so much Martha for posting this. It is such a wonderful song and such a blessing to hear DP speak. Love ya Phriend!!!!

  • tremenda interpretacion del mejor tenor del mundo para muchos muy linda la letra tambien un saludo desde caracas Venezuela
