@fatgordon the deadlift here is a strongman one straps and can hitch the record is 435 i think , the 460kg is a powerlifting deadlift no straps or hitch just letting you know if u got mixed up
@cmapple No, I'm not mixed up thanks, I know the difference. Benni Magnusson has the WR at 460 kg, no staps and no suit, he only had a belt. And yes, strongman deadlift allows straps, and the WR is 440 kg by Savickas at WSM 2011.
@DreadnoughtMetal2006 Yeah, that's the Hummer deadlift, which as you may know is not the same as this kind of deadlift. The Hummer deadlift has the bar higher to start with, and as the bar bends so much, the full weight doesn't kick in until near lockout - which is why the record is so much higher
@fatgordon you have to know, that this deadlift is done on a regular gym/IPF standard bar.Benny and bolton used WPC/WPO bar which bends more and is longer than the IPF bar.
@Henzzman Are you sure? I have a powerlifting bar that is supposed to take more than the standard olympic bar (around 320kg), but it's the same length (7ft) as the standard bar I have - the main difference I notice is that the powerlifting bar is definitely thicker than the standard olympic bar - presumable to take more weight. I thought it bent more cos it had so much weight on it!
@fatgordon well there is a whole sort of bars being sold at gym shops, but competition bars are only IPF and WPC/WPO standard. The olympic bar doesnt play roll in the deadlift, because its not used at the competitions for deadlift. And yeah any bar bends because of the weight, but because WPC/WPO bars are longer they bend more at the same weight than the IPF bar.Thats where the difference comes in the deadlift.
@maxthehulk Yeah, but that was not a standard deadlift, that was from a bar much higher, where the full weight doesn't hot you until you are almost locked out. Watch it and you'll see the weight doesn't fully leave the ground until he's almost locked out. You can't compare that kind of deadlift with this. The world record for this kind of deadlift is 460kg
@maxthehulk Sorry, are you saying that having a 'muscular and fit body' makes him a stronger athelete? How can that be, when Savickas holds more world records than Tom Magee has ever held? You'll need to explain that better, because that's just a load of crap, sorry. Savickas is way stronger than tom magee ever was, muscular or not
@maxthehulk i mean tom magee is muscular and fit and in the same time one of the strongest men and he lifts so heavy weights in his training but savickas is fat and so heavy and yes he is one of the strongest men but he can not even defends himself i mean magee is total package and magee was in 1982,1983 and 1985 wow so old but savickas competed in 2000s i think you understand me
one question do you know tom magee and did you see videos of him
@maxthehulk Ahhh man, what are you doing on Zydrunas Savickas vids?
I argued the exact same points everyone else here with minimal strongman/powerlifting knowledge is arguing on some WSM video, and now you're here typing the same crap.
I bet Zydrunas could come close to a 600kg deadlift with a 3 inch range of motion, assuming his grip (w/straps) holds out. Magee was a very strong man with a trim physique but he can't be compared to Savickas in strength.
@JRYT2000 Comment removed? I think that's cos you know you're wrong! Way wrong! Savickas just lifted 442.5 kg in WSM, so how this can be 365kg is beyond me!
one day i wanna meet big Z!!! hes my idol inspired me alot!!! woot .... and im 15 my max deadlift is 235kg got a vid in my channel.. :) hope 1 day i can be as strong as big z!
@TheCodiceabarre Don't think so - 16 x 25 kg plates = 400kg plus bar at 20kg and 2 x 5kg plates. I can't believe that some people still think Savickas's max is 340kg!! He just lifted 442.5kg at the worlds strongest man this year. He has lifted more than 400kg many, many times. You are so wrong.
i agree but to be fair just saying im not saying zavikas isnt strong hes proved he is and has deadlifted more than 400kg but them plates come in 20 and 25 and they look very similar ive used them its hard to see any difference between them mate
i love how the entire gym shakes when he puts it down, everyone else there has nowhere near the strength that zydrunas does, they should all stop working out their inferior muscles for a second and watch zydrunas lift up about triple the weight of a giant man. thats no ordinary man folks, he is the strongest man in the entire world
I think a pull up may be the only thing anyone of us can do better than him, and even then I wouldn't be suprised to see him repping the shit out pull ups or attempting one and totally bending the cage in half with beastness.
This must not be to impressive in Lithuania. Judging by the weak celebration of the cameralady. "yeeahhh" lol I would be Going crazy just getting to whitness this in real life.
@SteingrimTMNF I think those are 25 kg plates. This lift is close to his max, if not his max - but everyone who follows strongman knows savickas can lift WAY more than 365 kg - that's only 800 lbs, light for a strongan of savickas' experience. Savickas has lifted over 400 kg MANY times, so I think you have miscalculated
@SteingrimTMNF 430kg comes from: 20kg bar, 7x 25kg 1x 20kg 1x 10g (per side). You can see the outer plate is a few mm thinner than other plates. Thats hammer strength plates, they make 25 and 20kg plates same height but the latter one is a bit thinner in width. You can see that in the video if you know what to look for.
@imoengirl Come to Lithuania, you can see him like 8/24 hrs per day. Lithuania is small country, so there is few good gyms, you can met him anyday. Personaly, I saw him in like 20-30 champs, 3 times in Vilnius, and few times in Panevezys (city name).

@johini1 He already is so very much stronger than Magee.
Magee was a great strength athlete but he's nowhere near Zydrunas.
