  • Dude, that was hot!

  • SUPER! what a great reunion :)

  • This is from The Bill Gaither Blue Grass Series.

  • This song deserves to be sung with the passion of the original. I hate those sing along shows.

  • I cry everytime i hear this song my grandmother was buried to this song.

  • 1:08 is Del McCoury and 1:51 is Marty Raybon of Shenandoah

  • So that's what marty stuart looks like without a scarf.

  • The ffacts are that the importance of Religion as far as popular music both Country and Contemporary R&B and Rock was relegated to that of substantive irrelevance already in the early 1950's with the ascendancy of Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. This doesn't mean that these two great singers didn't believe in God. It just means that the public had relegated God to a position of Figurehead Monarch by its acceptance of music that made God's involvment secondary to the human experience.

  • BRILLIANT ~ !!!

  • Music belongs to God so if an atheist enjoys the music ...so be it. Thats how the

Holy Spirit draws all mankind. The love of God is no respecter of persons. But how

could one not feel the spirit in this song??

  • Will The Circle Be Unbroken - The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band [Long Beach, California] - 1972 - "AMG Pick. ...this was the first real country album that a lot of rock listeners under the age of 30 ever heard. Thus, it opened up pathways and dialogue in all directions, across several generations and cultural barriers;" - Dirt, Silver & Gold [Import UK] (Beat Goes On) [Disc 2]-2003. NOTE: Only get the BGO to get the BEST sounding version. ALSO I'm an atheist but can still appreciate this song. :-)

  • @mikekadas I don't know what else to say except, you have excellent taste in traditional music. This is a great song, and it never gets old. God Bless! oops!

  • @CFMD28 Thanks for the comment, much appreciated. Now if I could get you to listen to Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven. :-)

  • what year was this?

  • Great music is great music -- and this is great music!!!

  • "Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna

On a cold and cloudy day

    Vasudeva Nityananda

To carry my mother away" etc

Let nobody get strung out over lyrics

It's easy to leave out the Lord Jesus, Krsna or Jehova, et al,

and relish in the spirit of mankind.

  • I love this.. and I co-sign with Mr Nascar I am also Jewish and LOVE IT... I am also a city boy born and raised.. it just touches the heart listening to it

  • Awesome,Love It...

  • im jewish and i like it

  • @MrNascar1111

I don'T see how religion is involved?

I am atheist but still I love the song and the lyrics

  • @ellihermandur its a religious song.. all about the lord/christian based

  • @msuperboy I am New Age / free thinker and you won't get me into the Xian fold, but I love all the hill billy, rocka billy, dixie, bluegrass, cotton pickin' anything from blues to Beethoven to kirtans/chanting, 'cos fine toe tapping music crosses all racial and religious barriers.

  • @ellihermandur Listen to the chorus and hear, "Theres a better, home awaiting, in the sky Lord, in the sky." Thats talking about heaven. I love this song too.

  • @ellihermandur Sad for you

  • @ellihermandur atheists are scum

  • omg i love it when they brought marty raybon out there!!!

  • Buy the CD on this by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band! One of the greatest albums ever, as the NGDB managed to gather together so many of the still-living pioneers of country and bluegrass together. Earl Scruggs was at the peak of his career at the time and really shined. This particular song is sung by "Mother" Maybelle Carter on that album and it ain't nearly as upbeat as these guys are singing it!

  • Love it

  • Tank you for your comment(^^/

  • What year is this video from? Who is that at 0:18 singing? It's sure quite a party with all the different people as that's one of my real big live favorite performances as that's what you'd call party our jackets off!

  • Jimmy Ibbotson

  • @kintagoya What year is this video from?

  • 2003 maybe @Fisk University Chapel

  • @COWBOYMACLEOD 1987 i think
