If you add together the monthly payments of a brand new manufactured home to the lot rent payments of the manufactured home community you are placing the home in, you are paying the equivalent of a mortgage payment. Why do that when you can buy a house that will hold its value allot better than manufactured home in a park. The only way you can get a manufactured home to hold its value is to place it on a piece of land. Even so it does not appreciate as fast as a house.
