MC was on gamma station when reach fell, so the spartan is probably linda as she was found floating in debris from the P.O.A and the destroyed Halo. :)

That isn't the Chief guys its one of Chief's squad members "Blue 3" or Linda 058. One of the 4 Spartans 2 still active in duty. It doesn't make sense for that to be John because he was in the ship overseeing the escape there is Linda she suffered from multiple wounds and after the fall of Reach, Doctor Hasley revived her after Chief manage to salvage at the End of Combat evolved. She then was in charge of training the Spartan 3s along with other Spartans 2 like Kelly and John on Onyx.

honestly the whole story of the game makes no sense to the story of the book: spartan IIIs were trained on another planet, the pillar of autumn was never docked on reach etc...but thats not the chief. for one the chief didnt go into cryo untill they jumped to slipspace. so i would think that its linda, since the chief put her in a cryo after she was killed. but considering the fact that bungie has pretty much screwed the book over, it mite be the chief..

@Spartan3177 Look at it this way. The Spartan 3's were trained on Onyx. However, Noble Team members were pulled from the Spartan 3 (and in Jorge's case, Spartan 2) programs and placed into Noble Team. Then they were stationed on Reach. The Pillar of Autumn must have docked there AFTER chief and Linda got back on board. The Spartan 2 in Cryo has to be Linda. They may have moved her there temporarily. Hope that clears it up.
