  • The laugh at 6:46 was her evil laugh before she ate them.

    O_o

  • Is it me or whoever wrote these Audrey cartoons was high on "something"?

  • these were all choppy memories until my buddy told me about this animator T_T so happy T_T

  • I remember this!!!!! O.o

  • I hold this episode personally responsible for my future as a baker. The "50 Greatest Cartoons" vhs tape is my favorite and i still watch it. lol. Thanks for putting it up!

  • I miss this shows ! Put then back !

  • Now beat it.

    *starts to leave*

    Oh, not you. The batter.

  • 5:53 - 6:02

Fortunately, Little Audrey had her wire hand whisk on hand, which she had carried with her for just such an emergency as this.

  • Although they seem to be dressed in male accoutrement, at 3:48, the pastries are singing with female voices. So it really is a "gay holiday".

  • Although he springs to her defense, the bride is actually taller than the groom.

  • And LA actually refers to Gingerbread Man as "Gingerbread Boy" at 2:55-2:56, though he is clearly an adult male -- or at least past the age of consent for getting married. Don't call him "boy", white mama!

  • Is that Don Knotts Voice??? and btw: watching this with the munchies... I would've ate all of their asses!

  • This was one of most favorites!

  • I lol'd at the "Beat It" part!

  • It's just wonderful!

  • :D My name is Audrey and I'mma red head! I watched these at my gradmohters as a wee lass...

  • Her laugh at the end! :)

  • cartoons and kid shows now a days could learn a thing or two from these cartoons!

there is so much witty humor

  • Yay my name is audrey (:

  • I watched this as a little girl! I can't believe I found it. I'm 22 and I'm so happy I can share this with my kids!

  • little audrey is a cartoon

  • :) oh god brings back the 90s for me. Although this came out along time before then. Great stuff though :)

  • shes cute when she does things

  • awwww bring back so much memories

  • Wasn't Little Audrey based on a child actress of about that time? I think I remember hearing she was.

  • Actually, Paramount Pictures' Famous Players started using her when they decided not to renew their lincense on Little Lulu.

  • You don't jail a demon, you exorcise it.

  • Haha...the memories! Thanks for posting this.

  • where is Flip Flap please put the video.

  • i remember these from when i was growing up and i still love them!

  • 1:23

"... And thus,k the Powerpuff Girls were born!"

  • I loved this.

  • HEY MY NAME IS AUDREY TOO WHAT A COINCIDENCE

  • any one remember the one where the 2 little poor kids dream in candy land?! HELP!

  • @Mpatnode28

It's Somewhere in Dreamland, right? My other favorite!! :)

  • @Mpatnode28 Somewhere in dreamland

  • "Classified and Passed by the National Board of Review" so it notes in the opening credits. I wonder what that board did, who ran it, etc. But apparently at that time a few glimpsing white panty shots was OK! Little Audrey was terrific. I recall these cartoons as a kid. I loved them! Try pausing during the stirring of the batter. The stop-action single frames of her spinning around the spoon are master works! I wish I had one of the original cells. I wonder what one would be worth now?

  • lol, i like the part when he says "NOW BEAT IT!"

  • This was part of a "50 Greatest Cartoons" VHS tape I used to have... and this particular cartoon was the very first one.

  • @ngarcia103 Now that you mention it, I think I had the SAME VHS as a kid...

  • "PhillipP93": I know I have it somewhere. I've been looking for it for a few days. I can't seem to find it.

  • @ngarcia103 Wow I still have that one :) :)

  • "iiLOVEyouFOREVERxo": Do you know where yours is, at least?

  • omg exactly! That tape felt so long when I was a kid..

  • "razetora": I never did finish all 50, now that I look back...

  • @ngarcia103 I had that tape too.. I loved that tape.

  • "Iblowhismind": I'm so angry that I can't find it anymore. I never did finish all 50.

  • @ngarcia103 I HAD THAT TAPE! i'd been looking for it for YEARS but i couldn't remember for the life of me what it was called, THANK YOU!

  • "SherryPoppers": I have it stashed somewhere in my old collections! I've just been too lazy to find it!

  • I had it on VHS as well. It was a bootlegged tape, so I assume most of you had bootlegs as well. Mine had a couple "censored" cartoons on it, like Jungle Jitters.

  • I've had a few parts of this running through my head recently and have been trying to find it again! This was one of my favorite cartoons when i was younger!! Oh how I miss my youth. Where the only big drama was who stole your crayons

  • Wow, I remember watching this when I was little :)

And it's so funny because it seems that everyone had it on VHS but with different cartoons. Mine included the Little Lulu episode "A Bout with a Trout" and another about a king who rode around on a little toy horse, but I can't find that one.

    Anyway, thanks for posting :)

  • Hell yea!!! I had this one on a Tape with David and Goliath and the episode about the clock....Yep. 5 years old. 1992

  • best little kid show EVER

  • i love this to so much hahaha grew up on it!

  • Now beat it~

Oh, no not you, the batter!

  • Should a little kid really be baking? She didn't even turn off the oven XD

  • This one always makes me hungery, but then I feel like a murderer after eating a pastry...

  • lol COP cakes

  • @msallthewaymae Those "cop cakes" were out of line, at least by today's standards of law enforcement.

They may have had probable cause to believe that Devil's Food Cake had committed a felony and to arrest him for it. But he WASN'T resisting arrest. There was no need to beat him like a dog.

  • @65if2007 - LMMFAO!!!!!

  • @LaTainaIndia And notice, LTI, that we are talking about somewhat light-skinned "cop cakes" -- OK, light-textured ones anyway -- and a somewhat dark-textured "Devil's Food Cake". Behind the idyllic facade of Cakeland, there were racial tensions brewing. "Devil's Food Cake" might have become a Rodney-King like folk hero. "Pastries, pastries; can't we all just get along?"

  • @65if2007 But the Gingerbread Man is quite dark-skinned as well...

  • @TheRealGaucelm Well, I suppose that the Gingerbread Man is somewhat dark-skinned, in a kind of Ricky Ricardo-type way.

  • @65if2007 - Do yoU men Latino?

  • @LaTainaIndia - OMG! Yo, you are too funny man...

  • i member everything about this toon i love lil audrey its been twenty years since i saw it. liking the part about the adding salt lol

  • Tuber77 Thank you so much for posting it! I LOVE IT!!!

  • 1:13-1:15 lol.....

  • I used to love watching this! This is such a good show!

  • Lindsay E. Dunbar, this one is for you!

  • Oh how these videos make me wish I was a child during these times.. it all seemed so much simpler without all the worries we have these days.

  • looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • this rules. i used to watch this every day as a child.

  • TALK ABOUT A BLAST FROM THE PAST!!!!!!!!!! ME AND MY LIL BROTHER USED TO WATCH THIS CARTOON!!!

  • if i can only turn back the hands of time. this was a time when we all cared for each-other. and felt the life of a soul, now here we are killing each-other! sad.

  • Is it just me, or does Little Audrey look like Casper in drag?

  • @dangard88 - Totally! lol!

  • aaawwwwwwwwwwww!!!! i remember his!!!

  • wow this brings back memories!!

  • i lol at cop cakes

  • Would the cake community think badly of me, if I ate the Devil cake?

  • I used to love this.

  • LOL!!

    I remember this

  • I have not seen this since I was about 5 years old. I am now 24. Talk about a blast from the past! Thanks so much for posting!

  • what did everyone have the same video as a kid because i had this on tape to but i dont know where i went this should be on dvd

  • @redeye007 it IS on dvd

I had it on a VHS tape when I was young.. but I recently bought it on dvd

It's called Giant 600 Cartoon Collection... it's on the disc 2 out of the 12 AND I bought it at Wall-Mart and it was less than 10$

    ITS SO WORTH IT!!!

  • @junksmasher Lol. I had the vhs too. I think it was the 3 Little Pigs, The Song of The Birds, this, and Little Lulu on it,

  • Am I the only one who thinks the "friendly chef" sounds like Tiny Tim at the beginning of the broadcast?

  • The recipe called for sugar twice

  • not you the batter!!! HAHAHA

  • is this on dvd?

  • 4:23 - 4:30 drunk cartoon characters portrayed...

  • i finally got the words to the theme

and this must be Public Domain...ect...

  • Little Audrey came about when "Marge" wanted more money from Famous Studios to renew the animation rights to her character "Little Lulu" , Famous Studios decided to "create" Little Audrey" instead, saving them the copywrite fees.

  • 1:30 she forgot chemical x

  • I LOVEEDD this cartoon..

This and the episode of her hiding all the chocolate were my favorites..<3

Yay it's here for me to watch..

  • for as old as i am, i shouldnt even know what this cartoon is lol, still good the Little Audrey Tape

  • The way she says "Uh-hu...I'm ready" has a very strange impact on my nervous system...it works through my spinal cord and into the speech center of my brain...and out of my mouth and involuntary "ahhhhh...." resounds...remarkable!

  • The voice of the ginger bread boy is that of Jiminy Cricket in Pinocchio. I knew I recognized that voice!

  • i loved this whan i was a little kid

  • NOW BEAT IT!! Lmaoooo

  • i still have this on VHS!! <3333

  • This is so good. Smiles all round :D

  • This was one of my favorites!!! My mouth still sweats when I watch this!!

  • What was the ingredient after pepper??

  • Malt.

  • Thanks.

  • Radio: And now a bit of salt. HEY, NOT SO MUCH!

    Love that part!

  • NOW BEAT IT.. Not you the batcher. xD Ahaha.

  • Now beat it. >=(

  • @Mariseaninikkou Oh not you the batter! -_-

  • OMG, I loved this. And there are a lot of jokes in there that I missed as a child. This is great.

  • one thing i still love about these old kids shows is the music....the wonderful voices singing the themes with quality band or orchestra behind...you just don't find quality anymore...it's just shows being pumped out for money- whatever is catchy and annoying as hell...

    i love this cartoon!

  • I remember seeing this as a kid!

  • there is more than just flour in there

  • I loved this video when I was a kid and I forgot about it. I am having my first child and naming her Audrey. I wish I could get this on DVD

  • for heaven sakes! angel cake

  • i don't know how many times i watched this one when i was a kid. one of my favorites!

  • how cute, i still have this on video~!

  • Another favorite!!

  • love old cartoons!!!

  • wow gingerboy sure works fast don't he? lol also loved how it sounded like the radio announcer told her to get the heck out of there lol

  • HAHAHA! Police brutality! help! :D 6:19

  • I like this vid, is so sweet.

    Tuit, tuit

    (:>

  • Why is your youtube Tuber77? Pink don't like it? Nor Jayvon. Change it. :-(

  • Cakeland looks like Lewis Carroll's Wonderland.

  • the roll tore itself apart and they walked over his deformed red flat body

why does the devil food cake have to be evil, why cant the angel cake be evil

    is dat some christian subtext

that laugh at the end wasnt just unnecisary, but it was damn creepy

    god i'm high

  • Because those were all supposed to be puns. The reason the devils food cake is evil and Miss Angel Cake is good is because angels are good and the Devil is evil.

  • angels and devils do not exict, therefore this whole pun falls flat

  • Maybe you weren't the cartoon's intended audience.

  • so?

  • sure are

  • HEY! Near the beginning she used a weird contraption that looked like a juicer with a handle to crack an egg. Is that for REAL? Maybe I need one. I'm a klutz with eggs.

  • I guess this is before Harvey adopted the Famous Studios characters. I'm a Harvey fan since childhood (my earliest recollection of reading was a Casper comic book). I still think Audrey (was it... Smith?) is a sweetheart.

  • Aww :)

  • FTW.

  • COP CAKES!!! I loved these cartoons with inanimate objects that are alive....just so super and dreamy. Im glad I grew up on these.

  • where ever there is an angel food cake, there will always be a devil food cake.

  • Check out 'Shortnin Bread' produced by the same animators (Fleischer) circa 1951. It has the same gags, even the same sight gags as Tarts& Flowers! But it all seems to work..so simple but so good!

  • I have this! It's on a vhs called "50 cartoons". Even though I was born in 1989, this was all I used to watch! love it!

  • I was born in 1991 and got the same 50 cartoons vhs from Shell. There was mighty mouse, gremlins, three sttoges, and when it got to casper i'd stop watching, so to this day I've never seen the whole tape.

  • I CAN NEVER FINISH IT MYSELF. LOL

  • I have the SAME VHS. this is the first cartoon on there. WOW

  • you probably have the same one as me! do you have the one w/ the two poor kids and the mom that get a bunch of food at the end, and then a cartoon where this man tries to put a diaper on a baby but instead the baby puts the diaper on the man? lol the good old classics.

  • That's the one I have! lol I've never actually sat through the entire video in one sitting. I don't think I could do it.

  • ya it's a long video! I grew up to that stuff.

  • i had that tape too! the one with the poor kids and the popcorn raining field was the best! i always did hate that one with the guy and the baby for some reason though

  • haha I watched it today just for good old times sake. it brought back a lot of memories.

  • police brutality @ 6:22

  • "First we break one egg and I'm not yolking."

  • 3:39 Was that whipped cream or icing?

  • This is such a clever cartoon. All these things that they came up with to make Cake Land look cool. It's a shame you don't see stuff like this very often today.
