  • One of my fav bands of all time!

  • my favorite LF song. there will never be another lowell george..

  • Kick ass version~Thanks for posting this!

  • This guy's voice is FAAAAANTASTIC!

  • ...one of my most favorite bands, from tha '70s

  • been listening for many years

  • I saw FEAT IN 77" AT THE Glassboro College gym, the tickets were 4 bucks!

  • God bless Lowell

  • I'm gonna be catching these guys in DC for NYE '11. Should be awesome!

  • Why did I not catch the Feat when they performed at the Rainbow in 77, they were my absolute top band in 73 and 74? Perhaps I had been seduced by the change of direction towards punk via a spell of reggae. Do I listen to either of those genres with the regularity with which I have kept going back to the Feat over all the years since? No, oh well that's my loss as true class clearly is forever.

  • AWESOME!!! TOO BAD THE MUSIC OF TODAY IS NOT MORE LIKE THE GREAT BANDS OF THE PAST.

  • Im a 24 year old guitar player. I was learning jazz and blues growing up. I got real into the Allman brothers. When I found this version thanks to youtube of little feat; i converted. I saw little feat without knowing who they were at my first concert ever with the doobie bros when I was 16. Man... Im lucky to have discovered this live song and this unbelievable band.

  • Funk, soul, rock, blues, the nawlins sound. This band has it all and says it all period! How they aren't in the r&r hall of fame is a rock and roll sin! Abba?!! To those who have not seen them live shame on you! To those who say they're not the same since Lowell passed (head bow here) go out & get your ears re-tuned. They are hands down some of the best musicians to ever grace the stage & they are admired by many pros in the business. I have never seen them put on a bad live show or ever will.

  • If I met him in an alley..I,d call the cops.kickass..what da hell is dat? have a nice day..whats up people?

  • RIP Zappa,, you were an arrogant ass ( remember the 1980 Grammys?),, but you were a creative SOB,,

  • dig this song

  • Was lucky enough to catch this show back in 77. Has to be the most underrated band ever, these guys were/are brilliant.

  • This and Fat Man have to be the 2 best drinking songs ever written.......

  • THE best band that ever played a note...no question..

  • This is the song my dad had cued up in the 8Track for my ride home from the hospital after my birth 12 hours prior.

  • I just met shaun murphy last night.she aint in this but damm im lucky :)

  • Every thing, every comment, thought or posted, about this Band, is so straight from the gut soul, so personal. Pretty sure these Boys owned a part of our Hearts. Feats don't fail me now.

  • hi, it's me

  • its a shame LF never toured australia, they had a huge following downunder

  • Agora Ballroom.

  • First time, at Richard's in Atlanta Midtown, 1975 (I think) with Marshall Tucker as the warm up act.

  • I saw these guys twice in Salt Lake City....Most Awesome

  • Possibly one of the most recognizable riff/bridges is rock'n'roll it this'n...

One of the best jam-bands EVAAR!

  • quality and i SHIT on you downers

  • i am 38 years old - my dad played this right through from aged 1 to 38 years - never seen this clip before - JUST WONDERFUL

  • Comment removed

  • harmonys at 5:45 are amazing, after that super solo!!

  • this song makes me feel real good

  • Thanks for posting , there's still more Dixie Chicken left huh ? Another 2 minutes ?

  • While going to school during the late 70's, it seemed every college student on campus had those white coveralls! On Fridays after all classes were over you could hear lots of Little Feat blaring out the windows of the dorms!

  • Jack Black as Lowell George for an epic movie :) !!!

  • @bonzaitribe I would love to see that movie! Jack would be perfect!!

  • Robert palmers first album (sneakin' sally) sounds like little feat, i think Lowell George is playing on that album

  • we love little feat. Check out our cover version of spanish moon

  • One of the tightest live bands ever . Only live show that was tighter Frank Zappa.

  • @MrShoeman21 whoa, you are very cool, I was part of that whole 68-85 scence, see underground subwayn raleigh, blog, it will bow you away, gots lot more stories,

  • I just don't get how people love it soo much..

  • I love little feet. My kids know these songs by heart! I just wish I could have seen them live when lowell George was still alive! I love all their songs!

  • Just found my way here from some Ry Cooder's links - and I don't mind as I hit my second god...

  • Just my found my way here from some Ry Cooder's links - and I don't mind as I hit my second god...

  • When you compile the all-time rock greats list, Lowell George has to be way, way up that list. Could sing with soul, wrote great songs and played a mean slide guitar. I am so glad I got to see them live a few times before his passing.

  • love this stuff

  • If you don't like Little Feat, then something cerebral is seriously malfunctioning.

  • done it up right southern style!!

  • Love that low down Southern Whiskey...............

  • when i was a kid my dad sang this song to me at bedime... -.-

  • I was there, man. Great concert. First time I saw them live.

  • Today's "music" can't hold a candle!

  • Saw Little Feat open for Van Morrison in Albuquerque NM around 77'

Little Feat blew everyone away, most came to see Morrison, The crowd booed Morrison off the stage. Morrison walked off after only 10 minuets on stage.

We already got our moneys worth that night.

  • In the punk days this band showed up, 1977 in London, less attitude, better music

  • @Sillach God, you got that right. . . . . and I wouldn't have been surprised if John Lydon was in the audience, wearing sun glasses, incognito.

  • came close to seeing them all Who, Cream, Hendrix, etc....this was the best LIVE band ever!

  • is it a DVD? In this case what is the title? Great band!!!

  • how about fried chicken

  • Undeniably one of the most memorable moments in music. Peace, Eric.

  • Waiting for Columbus, best live album ever! Shame Lowell's not with us anymoor.

Guess that guitar player shaw could play...Sail on Feat.

  • I was at the Rainbow that night - this makes me feel 22 again...

  • Reminds me of childhood & my loving mother. Thanks for the great Music. Little Feat is one great Band!!!

  • Late again, just read about Richie in Modern Drummer. Love this band. In the same trad. as Traffic or Steely Dan. :(

  • MASTERPIECE :))

  • How fucking good do you want it to get, man, ' cos you have to go a long way to beat this, huh?

  • That low down southern whiskey has fogged 10 peoples minds

  • Free show in Rochester, NY May 20th Friday at Lilac Festival

  • i have noticed 'ugly women' do not like this song... sooooooooo sexy!!!

  • Lowell ...so sad ....nice we got see him though !...what a talent!!!

  • OK, so at 5:50, at the end of a frigging searing hot guitar solo, the crowd ......

does NOTHING! silence! What the hell is wrong with those Englishmen?

  • how did 10 people dislike this video? its so damn groovy man

  • @randeezydizzle i guess there were 10 brain dead people who watched it

  • Lowell George and Jerry Garcia are sharing a large condo in music heaven!

  • @maryanngibby Amen to that!!! There is one hell of a band up behind the pearly gates!

  • @maryanngibby yeah, and Duane Allman is two doors down. :o)

  • @maryanngibby My two favorite musicians of all time.

  • @maryanngibby I just put a similar comment up on another Little Feat video, possibly Fat Man in the Bathtub. I just thought they would be jamming, but I like your idea that they would be sharing a space!

  • @maryanngibby Amen sister.

  • @maryanngibby and a bong hit...HELL YEAH!!!!

  • ...masterpiece ;)

  • My feats have been tappin to these tunes, since I first heard em' many moons ago!

Lowell george,You ROCK! nobody can do it like lowell and the feat!

    ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!

  • i am glad my friend turned me on to this band even took me to a concert at a fair where they played.....they are great

  • Just saw Paul and Fred do an acoustic show in Kent OH.

Them boys still have it. Won a pair of tix to see the next Feat show too, can't wait.

I wish Craig Fuller would rejoin the group, he came close to Lowells vocals and Paul can

handle most of his riffs. One of my all time favorites. The good old days.

  • Those were the daze....

  • how about your dixie cow?

  • It's a crime that LF aren't in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. Lowell George was a musical genius and the music world was deprived of some great songwriting.

  • @1blastman Man he was a genius.Love his work.

  • @1blastman got that right, they did a few benefits for us in RTP, NC area 70's, 80's

  • @1blastman Well, Rush ain't in the Hall of Fame either.

  • @andmaketherain They both deserve to be voted in.

  • @andmaketherain Why would Rush Limbaugh be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

  • @joeytwosubs LMAO!!!

  • @1blastman The day the music died was the day Lowell George left the planet...

  • @1blastman got that right,

  • @1blastman the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame is a fraud...there are so many who deserve it and so many who got in --- but, dont deserve it...so, lets all forget the the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame

  • @zmattman1

you're certainly encouraged to enjoy what you like, but i would agree with azpuma68...little feat were/are nothing like the grateful dead.

  • @equin0xia - Little Feat weren't around long enough to compare to the dead, aside from the fact they are two different bands.

  • Shhhhhhh. Just listen.

  • why did you not include tripe face boogie?

  • How Feat did not become one of the 70s Superbands is a mystery to me.........they rocked.

  • I just noticed that Jack Black (the actor) Looks Like Lowell!!! Doesn't he??? Hey - he could play him in a movie. He could probably pull it off with his love of rock. Listening to this reminds me of hanging with my friends on a pier on a lazy fun day with nothing to do - biggest problem in the world was the batteries on the tape player dying! Aaaahhhh....

  • The Feats just played more interesting (IMO) music than the Dead. They were WAAAYYY tighter as a band as well (thanks to Richie). There's a fine line between working the groove and pointless jamming...

  • @prinznevsky I concur completely

  • @azpuma68 Yes indeed, There is a real good reason why "real' musicians don't like The Grateful Dead. They had a following, but they really sucked!

  • @CFMD28 The Grateful Dead did not suck. It was a group filled with creative individuals that helped shape a new type of music. But I'm not going to be a egotistical dick about it and say something that makes me look like an idiot.... but hey, that's what the internet is for.

  • @CFMD28 says who? you----I guess Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Jorma etc arent real musicians-go take a shit with your pants on

  • @culls33 Say what you want. They were average at best, their following was a bunch of people who were stoned most of the time. They could have sang the phonebook and no one at their concerts would have noticed. Comparing The Grateful Dead to Little Feat is like comparing a Yugo to a Maserati. No, actually Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, and Jorma are great in my opinion. There are better musicians than them too. I'm just saying The Dead were average. Don't get your panties in a twist over it.

  • @CFMD28 - Quite funny you say that given all the compliments lowell gave jerry and how eager he was to work with the dead. Little Feat was a tighter band, but they explored less and were less prone to playing long sets like the dead. Different flavors of music. Both bands complimented each other perfectly. 5/8/77 from the dead is just as tight as this though. The dead did have some solid moments.... 72, 74, 77-79, 87, 91 etc. The Dead never put no one down, only you.

  • @420Honey Yes "take a step back, take yet another step back Ya all the people up front are getting horribly smashed" Scarlet>Fire man Scarlet>Fire. I think Lowell died when he was producing The Album Shakedown ST. for the dead.

  • @CFMD28 Yep. I saw the Dead- many, many times- from the virtual beginning, early '66. They sucked. The stoners thought them tuning up for 45 minutes was "far out". No. Jerry could play, the rest blew. They got a lot better. By the early seventies- American Beauty, Working Man's Dead- they were a very good band. It's a cult thing. Little Feat was upper echelon from day one. I've been a guitarist for 46 years, gigging and teaching. I know bullshit when I hear it. Little Feat was the real deal.

  • @slownoman - Weir took a while to find himself on stage, thus probably wasnt the best guitar player given he was still in high school? What did your high school band accomplish? Phil Lesh was a fantastic bass player, Billy held the pocket just fine. Pig just wanted to get ripped and sing booze blues but i wouldnt hold that up against the band and say they sucked. So easy to make fun of the old days with the technology we have now, strobe tuners etc. 46 years strumming a guitar is moot..

  • @420Honey I agree...and Phil Lesh is still a fantastic bass player! He has joined one of my all-time favorites; Levon Helm (The Band) this past year on several occasions and they were great! I was a Dead fan in the day and an even bigger Little Feat fan..both bands were good. There were definitely some good musicians in The Dead just some questionable performances. Slowno said Dead fans were only stoners..Being stoned didn't mean that we couldn't appreciate good music!!

  • @culls33 NVER HEARD THAT EXPRESSION BEFORE, GO TAKE A S... WITH U PANTS ON..LOL

  • @azpuma68

I know that there are a lot of sloppy recordings by the dead but that does not mean they were amateurs. They did however have some substance abuse issues which did lead to some questionable performances. that does not change the fact that they are true artists both instrumentally and lyrically.

  • Attention...to any current new group, do not watch this band. You will cut you throat.

  • Guess that guitar player sure could play!

  • I saw Little feet multiple times in the DC area (mostly @ Lisner Auditorium) throughout the early 70's and they remain one of the most talented group of musicians I ever saw. Seemed like every concert had super big names "drop in" like Jackson Brown, Linda Ronstadt and Bonnie Raitt. Little Feet, Santana, and Pink Floyd are my musical benchmarks to this day.

  • My life goal is to be able to play guitar like Paul Barrere and sing like Lowell George

  • Comment removed

  • I don't get disliking things like this. If you don't like Little Feat, don't listen to their video. You can type Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne into YouTube search just as easily.

  • @zmattman1 Fucking aye.

  • Shure SM57... with blue tape, too.

  • awesome band. no one like em

  • still chur !!

  • Who would dislike this? These are 5 people I never want to meet.

  • @montybus20 If you don't like this then you're a bad person, that's just how it is.

  • Yeah man...I saw them in the spring of 1979 at JMU in Harrisonburg, VA......I was 16....Totally great buzz and totally great show..WOW!! Hooked for life! Then Lowell checked out June 29th of the same year!!!! I think he was only 29.....What a ride he must of had while it lasted!!! Shew!!!! I still go see what's left of them.....

Shew!!!!

  • @P0000h Good move! There is little bad up on youtube. Still, I highly recommend getting your hands on Waiting for Columbus and listening to that album, as it is constructed. I think the audio production on that is higher than anything on youtube except for the Rock n' Roll Doctor clip and anything else from that session (it was a TV show, right?) that is up. But the organization of Waiting for Columbus is genius and made it a great "album." All, of course, IMHO.

  • Oh my God, it stops right when they're really getting ready to start rockin'! Still a cool video though.

  • @P0000h I know a phish-head when I see one!!

  • @nastynate1229 My girlfriend was just in New Jersey. She called me and told me about it. Then I remembered that Little Feat was a band that I'd always meant to get into, I just never got around to it. So I spent the day watching Little Feat on youtube.

  • I love this song....grew up listening to it...not that old lol...my dad had their albums

  • I guess that guitar player sure could play.........

  • no one can post studio version of this song you corny ass bastards

  • @TheRollwitit where did the great music go??it's out there,. just seems harder to find,.could i suggest entering "Jay Rakes" on you tube search bar? a va.beach area guitarist ,..

  • @jlambert321 yep R I P

  • didnt garth brooks do a cover of this song?? let me know thanx

  • It was sad day when Lowell George passed on. Little Feat was and will always be a great band!

  • Anyone who hates Lowell George and Little Feat has no apprecition for music. They have my sympathy.

  • This song and Fat Man In The Bathtub should be required listening in music appreciation. I have a 2 yr old who loves this song. We are turning her on to everything from Dean Martin to The Mills Bros. to Jayz. We will let her figure out what she likes but I'll bet she likes them all.Little Feat rock!!!
