While I agree with what you're saying, it seems a majority of Canadians like the way Harper is doing business. The sad reality is that while he may seem extreme, his views are shared by enough people to get him voted in. Don't stop pushing, because this is the balance that gives Democracy power.
@oriondg 39.6% is not a majority... He was awarded a majority of seats, but did not receive a majority of votes because of our electoral system. We need a proportional electoral system
Canada used to be something I was (somewhat) proud of. While I didn't travel, I always thought it was great that people could travel with a Canadian flag on them selves and be treated kindly and fairly. Now I am worried that this will be no more.
I Fear for the future of Canada, and for my own future if Harper is not removed from office... I am Pagan, and proud of it, but there are still times when I have to actually turn my pentacle rings in towards my palms so that people won't hassle me. The fact that we have a PM who is the furthest from open to my point of view greatly bothers me.
@BoredomCorner Why? You're just mad Harper spent billions for the G20 for police agents who striked on innocent civilians and captured about 300 of these evil communist monsters. And yeaaah but, after all, he was elected Prime Minister ; then, we should listen to his will, makes perfect sense!
I'm becoming increasingly ashamed to be Canadian. Our reputation throughout the world used to be that Canada was a tolerant, honourable and peace keeping. We lived proudly as an ethnic mosaic (at least since the early 20 century). Now Harper is trying to out-Bush, Bush.
Soon we won't be able to wear Canadian flag identifying patches on travelling abroad out of shame and the derision of actual peaceful countries.

@oriondg I know -- it really made me lose faith in humanity, on Monday night.

@seesitnow4sure And the funny thing is, God seems to be responsible for more suffering in The Bible than Satan, but I digress...

I'll say it like this: hail the revolution.

@AlexcekSerosis I never thought that Canada would reach the point where we seriously need one.

@BoredomCorner I seriously hope we can dump Harper from power in the next election, otherwise things might start to get real ugly real fast.
