weight distribution: ZR1 = 51/49 Z06 = 50/50 (more traction). also the Z06 weighs 100+kg/220+lbs less! with that combination of less weight and better balance it ran a lap time on the nürburgring of 7:20 (505hp) to the ZR1s 7:19 (640+hp) [530hp GTR = 7:24 btw]. also, you can up to 730+hp out of a Z06 on pump gas.. without a super(- or turbo)charger!

If the Vettes were using road legal tyres they would be approx 30 secs slower than the GTR. The Nissan is also 153 bhp down on the ZR1. The GTR is a totally superior car

I'm sure of that because I've read it in some magazine (I think Motor Trend), but keep in mind also that the ZR1's engine has a stout block and internals with -I assume- beefier rear-end and axles, thus the price difference.

@HEMIH3AD ZR1 has better tires, better traction management, the bottom end of the engine is all forged (the LS7 i think its just the crank?), the cylinder walls are thicker then the LS7 so in theory you can put more boost into and get more power, and the ZR1 has a few small things here and there that make it a bit better (like higher top speed that kinda stuff)

I thought the corvette kept up fairly well for having 200 less horsepower. But I tip my cap to the GTR on that race...great car. I would really like to see that GTR race a ZR-1 to see what the outcome would be then.

Dragtimesinfo vids aren't good to compare stock vs stock cars though because many of these are modified. There is also many vids of a ZR-1 beating a GT-R too. A lot of it has to do with driver skill, tires, track conditions, and so on that decides the winner between the two cars. They are both great pieces of engineering.

@HEMIH3AD ...The Vettes times at the Nurburgring were set on super slick tyres which are an option buy for owners track days whereas the GTR`s time was set on road legal tyres that you buy with the car. Also the Nissans time was set in the semi wet against the Vettes dry track times. The GTR is 600 lbs heavier than the Z06. If the Vettes were using road legal tyres they would be approx 30 secs slower than the GTR. The Nissan is also 153 bhp down on the ZR1. The GTR is a totally superior car

@HEMIH3AD ZR1 has better tires, better traction management, the bottom end of the engine is all forged (the LS7 i think its just the crank?), the cylinder walls are thicker then the LS7 so in theory you can put more boost into and get more power, and the ZR1 has a few small things here and there that make it a bit better (like higher top speed that kinda stuff)

Dragtimesinfo vids aren't good to compare stock vs stock cars though because many of these are modified. There is also many vids of a ZR-1 beating a GT-R too. A lot of it has to do with driver skill, tires, track conditions, and so on that decides the winner between the two cars. They are both great pieces of engineering.
