None of the clones are complete replicas. They all have issues, like difficult hammer-ons and whatnot. And if you're that desperate to have custom songs, just follow the directions to hardmod your ps2.

There are a couple of guitar hero clone online. They are all free. This one is simply called Guitar Hero PC Clone. It is free. The best one is Guitar Zero 2, but it's really buggy right now. And the last one is Frets on Fire, which is a lot more user friendly than Guitar Zero 2, but isn't as appealing as GZ2.

This is the guy who wrote the guitar hero pc clone. Was pretty amazed to find this on here when I was looking for the original prototype video I put up over a year ago.

Just to answer some questions and what not. I wrote the program as a 2d application using a 3d engine. I did this just to get a functioning basic front end to support the song files from Freetar Hero. My main goal was just to get functioning gameplay together while everyone was waiting for the freetar hero game.

Once the freetar hero program was released I stopped support of the program.
