I like Vista a lot better than Windows 7 also, but that could also have to do with now, there's so many updates to Vista, that makes it basically the same with some minor differences. In all honesty I prefer Windows XP 64 bit over any operating system out there, except maybe Linux. If I could just have XP x64 with the Windows Vista look and feel, I'd never veer away from it. Unfortunately XP is getting older, I hope that Windows 8 will have better compatibility and customization when it's out.
@FLSanimation The startup for Windows isn't slow to begin with, it's all the stuff that has load before it loads that slows it down. All that stuff, Windows really doesn't have much control over.
I have Vista and 7 and I like each for different reasons. I have never had problems with Vista. I have a MAC I never use and will always regret spending money on that overpriced fashion accesory.
@RCTPatriot75 Nahh, programmers, network administrator, IT professionals, we all have superiority complexes, also programmers and Network Administrators have God complexes.
The reason everyone said Vista was slow and sucked is because, when vista came out, THEY INSTALLED IT ONTO THERE SHITTY COMPUTERS WITH 1GB of RAM and 512MB.
Maybe if you upgraded it to 4 GIGS YOU WOULD GET A BETTER EXPERIENCE.. You fucking stupid Windows Vista haters.
@Acceptable76 I ran it on 1 GB with 1.6 GHZ and had no problem, but was limited to Home Basic.. but put in another GB and ran Home Premium and right now I have no problems at all.
I bought a Sony Vaio laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium. To be 100% honest, Windows Vista gave me so many problems, it was frustrating. I had to reformat my computer 5 times (NO EXAGGERATION). I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, and I am so happy with my decision. Its simply Amazing, no crashes, no slow downs. It runs just like I installed it. I LOVE IT! Windows Vista was OK, until it crashed on me.
Vista is the marmite of operating systems. For people using, for instance, windows 2000 up until now, will find vista/7 very confusing, and it will make any less than a dual core laggy. But with me being a total nerd, I pick up new interfaces to anything quickly, and with my quad-core, vista dosen't lag for me at all. I never had any problems with it, its never crashed on me or given me a BSOD. Maybe it was worse without service packs, but IDK as I upgraded when SP2 came out.
Vista is just fine if you tweak it correctly. Any one of Vista's problems can be fixed by taking 10 minutes out. It's not difficult. But with Windows 7 already out and slaughtering everything, there's no point in sticking with Vista.
I've had no problems with Vista Home Premium...i've kept my system clean, kept windows updated...still use it today...why?, because it hasn't given me problems...also XP on my notebook...no problems, no reason to change!!!
Man i used every windows since windows 95. And i used vista it is good but now i am using windows 7 and it is better in every way. It is better in boot, gaming everything.
Windows Vista is fine as long as you use (decently) modern hardware. Windows 7 doesn't have any more drivers or compatibility features. It's just faster with a better Explorer GUI.
It's never good to buy an operating system RIGHT AFTER its release. I'd recommend waiting until SP2 or 10.?.3 before upgrading. Unless you're testing or developing.
vista was great for me, never had the blue screen either and i do some thrashing at my pc, does anyone think he was just a little cocky in this video too ? ? ?

HP!! bluescreen, guess its an HP problem not MS. Its a reason why I build pc my self, oem's does suck usually. Crappy pc = crappy os cause bsod!
One must understand that MS operating system must function stable on a lot of different hardware settings.
Build yourself and save money, buy quality hardware parts. It should be stable. I have never ever had bluescreen unless I did something stupid or put in crappy hardware pieces.

My friend has Windows Vista Ultimate and she has no problems with it. She is running it on a Dell Studio 15. I on the other hand have never used Vista. I have gone from Windows 98 to XP to Windows 7. So I have no idea the quality of the O.S.
I have never had a BSOD after I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on my Quad core PC. When I had vista ultimate 64 bit I had alot of BSOD's. Vista is horrible.

@MadeiraLion vista works well, i thik the problem with vista was the 3 years of hardware advantage we have now for 7. if the actual hardware were available for vista at that time for sure people like it.
haha i never had a blue screne of death and i use games some vista mods a game booster that closes actually "vital" processes and so on on vista no problems with vista :/ well i can't see how peapol can't like vista i dont LOVE vista wel it "works" well a little better than xp
Wow... I loved Vista, my first rig only had two GB ram, a C2D E4500, XFX 8600. Not a single problem. Now my $850 lappy is running windows 7. I've never had problems w/ either :\. I've only had a single BSOD across Vista and 7. It was a hardware based crash - my ram didn't have a high enough voltage running through it. So all I did was pop into my bios and it was a 5 second fix. It wasn't software based, it was hardware based (out of control of the OS). The touchsmart isn't a good piece of hard.
I hate vista, a failed windows update may require a complete reinstall. Happened to me twice. Malware removal is also tougher on Vista, which required me to reinstall as well.
Still using it though, LOL. No updates, only security updates, and only safe browsing now
Yeah, i didn't have ANY problems with Windows Vista. Nothing went wrong! However, i am switching to Mac OS X, becuase of the things Chris does with Mac, i have to convert!
This guy wouldn't say that the person on the phone is the only one that loves Windows Vista if he would read the comments. It's like this guy can't even see, smell, hear, etc. the comments.
Vista was never as bad as it was assumed to be. It was just drastically different from XP. Because XP had a long run (5 years I believe) few people liked the change. I think the majority of the "vista is unreliable/buggy/etc." comments just came from people who preferred Mac or Linux. I actually use vista on my desktop instead of 7 because there a few fatal security issues with 7. Honestly, with a few registry changes and some reliable software, vista is every bit as good (if not better) than XP
LOL i installed 7 on my UX1 and works perfect smooth and all. but i got blue screen of death wile i was installing the vaio Power management :P 5 times after 5 tries it finaly installed
Windows 7 runs great on my system. My CPU was always getting hammered with Vista and now, it isn't. The versions of Windows are stupid. Ultimate should be Home Premium and Professional should be for businesses. If they had 2 versions, it would be SO much better
I like vista but the only thing that i dont like about it is that when you are installing things the instructions are too complex and can only really be understood by a person whose into computers
He is NOT the only person on the planet who likes Vista, i've been using it for about a year and a half and haven't had any problems. I also have a friend who has seven brothers/sisters so they got 4 vista laptops to use between them and they all love it.
I wonder with all this talk about vista vs 7 , if someone will file a lawsuit against microsoft on the free upgrade! for vista users, didnt sega get sued for the Dreamcast?
I know best buy has free upgrades for windows 7 on pcs that stil have vista installed on them. thats kinda crappy
Vista had a shaky start because it was rushed and had no drivers. That first year wreaked Vista for everyone. After SP1, it was fine and served me extremely well. After upgrading to Windows 7, the experience has been close to identical. There is obviously the UI enhancements, but other than that it is very close to Vista.
I agree on the different versions. They should have learned better after Vista.
i luv vista, well only the home basic, the rest of them all i hav had is problems and now that i am using windows 7 it is the best or at least they hav fixed all the resent problems they had with vista
Windows 7 is so much better than Vista. I've had a few problems with VMWare and Windows 7 but compared to Vista it is so much better. I don't have to troubleshoot that much any more. There are still problems but overall its' much better.
look at it this way, If i buy a pc that is the SAME price as a mac, chances are that the PC is gonna have better specs than the mac itself would have. Which would in turn, enhance your windows experiance. Any PC over $800 is better than a $1,200+ mac. The thing is, you get what you pay for.
Vista is fantastic. I havent had one issue since July. If you have Vista, Make sure you have enough RAM. I heard the 27 in IMAC has many issues including Flash issues. I love my 64 bit Vista
Coming from a heavy user here, vista works very well. I am using my computer 24/7, from programming constantly, using C4D, photoshop a lot, SQL server and website maintenance constantly, multitasking constantly. Only got the BSOD 3 times from bad one bad piece of software, which I'm sure was from compatibility issues, which I know would be Vista's fault. other than that I am 100% satisfied. But actually I am unable to get my free Windows 7 upgrade because it wont let the app check my system, ha.
Chris, I love vista, yes it has worked for me too. Tell your customers they suck at handling computers.

This guy wouldn't say that the person on the phone is the only one that loves Windows Vista if he would read the comments. It's like this guy can't even see, smell, hear, etc. the comments.

I think the Aero should be a core feature in Windows Vista. But it is a core feature in Windows 7.

Well dude, Vista is kinda like a Ford
Some people have better luck with it than others.
I think that one shouldn't need luck for an operating system, so thats why i felt much more comfortable in XP

I also have a friend who has seven brothers/sisters so they got 4 vista laptops to use between them and they all love it.

sometimes i ask myself what the hell microsofty did the years between xp and vista?...aero??

Vista had a shaky start because it was rushed and had no drivers. That first year wreaked Vista for everyone. After SP1, it was fine and served me extremely well. After upgrading to Windows 7, the experience has been close to identical. There is obviously the UI enhancements, but other than that it is very close to Vista.
I agree on the different versions. They should have learned better after Vista.

Windows 7 is so much better than Vista. I've had a few problems with VMWare and Windows 7 but compared to Vista it is so much better. I don't have to troubleshoot that much any more. There are still problems but overall its' much better.

My Sister loves vista!
I don't know why she loves vista, but she does.
We know win vista not works well.
Windows seven is my favorite becouse is beautiful, faster and modern, XP is too old to me, when I'm working on XP I feel unconfortable.
When I'm working on windows vista I feel OK, but has a lot of problems and windows 7 fixes those problems.

The iMac has way less problems then windows... Vista sucks... GO MACS
Hulianomarkety 2 years ago
look at it this way, If i buy a pc that is the SAME price as a mac, chances are that the PC is gonna have better specs than the mac itself would have.
