i love love aquaria~ and this company is making a new game Marian, can't wait for that to come out! thanks for the commentary and walkthrough ^_^ it brought a lot of memory back
@teddybearzh Yeah, I'm looking forward to Marian. Well, technically it's a new company, since Derek Yu's busy on Spelunky (the 360 version of which looks awesome).
I find the shield song very useful in certain areas of the game. It just depends on how agile you are, and since I'm swimming and aiming with the mouse, I'm less agile than if I was using a controller of some sort. I'm glad to see a full Let's Play of this and not just the music or bosses. Thanks :)
Mix between Ecco for the zen/exploration part and zelda for the puzzles and the progression of the story, aquiring power ups etc...maybe metroid then....idk. I just wanted to say that the music director did a fantastic job. The music of the this level is awesome but the others are just as epic...with the great naration..wow. I like ur comments, u get a perfect relax voice for this xD
@fartpep Thanks. The game was pretty much made by two people, Alec Holowka and Derek Yu. Alec Holowka did most of the music (his brother did a few tracks).
I control movement with the mouse, sing with the mouse, but in energy form I shoot with Ctrl button. But sometimes I use everything at the same time to stay alive. :D
Actually, I found the WASD keys to be far too cumbersome. I've found that the Logitech Dual Action Gamepad (the one with two analog sticks) to be the most accessible for playing a game like Aquaria.
Yeah, I think it depends on how comfortable you are with a controller... I'm a lot more used to using WASD and a mouse, so I went with that. I found the ability to quick-swap forms too useful to give up, myself.
I wonder how you make soup underwater...
That said this game looks cool.

The music in this level is incredible.
Very interesting game. Kinda reminds me of Ecco the Dolphin. Need to try this game

I have a question. How did you make the game widescreen?
I thought Aquaria only supports 4:3 resolution :O
