  • 2:33 i fucking love that bit

  • For me the album was definitiley intriguing but It was harder to wrap my head around in-terms of how he used chord progressions and melody to provoke emotional responses

  • "Do not go gentle into that good night" - great poem & this is a great song.

  • Do Go Djently!

  • 1:40 is one of the best melodies ive ever heard

  • @underscoreisnotvalid Same :P Sounds something like Final Fantasy or somth, dunno xD

  • Theres no top comment..? Here my chance to shine... Boobs.

  • Whoever clicked dislike on this song clearly listens to too much justin bieber

  • FUCK DUPSTEP!

  • @MusicalAnjie94 indeed

  • i hate how fags turn the word 'djent' into some stupid fad thing to say. djent this and djent that. people like them give the music a bad name.

  • Do not go djently.

  • 2:15 is when it gets hardcore

  • I'm surprised the neither of the top comments is a djently joke.

    Thank fuck. :L

  • Do Not Go Djently

  • Djent is where metal is definitely heading. Meshuggah created it. Animals is taking it in other places. Periphery sounds good, I just hate the emo vocals.

  • @FATLAYNE "whyyyyyy meeeeeeee, oh woooooooooooeeee is meeeeeeeeeeee, oh it huuuuurrrrrts to baaaaaaaaaaaad, my feeeeeeeeeelings, ouchiiiiieeeeeee"

    emo lyrics

  • one person goes gently..

  • This is garbage compared to the first album. He shouldn't have let musically inferior people contribute to his music. He should have written this on his own like the first album.

  • @robertrodrig1 This album is just as intricate... if you cant apreciate that then shut up... your not old enough to use the internet.

  • @robertrodrig1

He had Misha Mansoor with him for the first.

  • @robertrodrig1 Couldn't fucking agree more. Every song on AAL's debut was ground-breaking. There's nothing even close to the brilliance of Song of Solomon, CAFO, Thoroughly at Home. As a professional drummer, I've dissected every note of their debut, and there still parts that give me massive trouble covering. This though...there's none of that. Also, I think he and Misha need to team up again...that was what resulted in the avant-garde/jazzy prog genius that was the debut

  • @JoshuaAlexanderful Yeah man. Weird thing about the first album is that I felt like each note was just bouncing around inside my head and it was a crazy experience. I don't get that feeling with this album. It just doesn't activate my brain like the first album did. The new album, to me, sounds more like a mediocre band without a vocalist rather than a true band.

  • @robertrodrig1 Mediocre is a harsh word when you actually pay attention to what's happening in the music. The moving sixths, the diatonic to major skips, the use of ACTUAL melody instead of just shredding. There's always something different to listen to. It's your opinion, and that's fine. But I think you should re-listen and try a different word.

  • Do Not Go Djently.

  • damn the beginning sounds so damn groovy!

  • the fact that this is only in 280p makes me want to buy the whole album on itunes.

  • we all knew what the top comment was going to be...

  • elevator music. fuckin boring and mediocre

  • @robertrodrig1 Best elevator of all time.

  • @TheHaiiiJuan Yeah how about of all time.

  • @robertrodrig1 I wish the elevator at my apartment played music this fantastic. If it did, I would stand inside it for the entirety of the song.

  • the last tag for this song. Hilarious.

  • i knew right away when i saw the name of this song that the top comment would be a djent joke

  • I'm confused as to why Tosin didn't take advantage of the obvious pun.

  • @KaiserRexatron maybe because he's not an annoying immature prick? replacing g's with dj- was never fun and will never be

  • @limeman2 Whatever, bro.

  • Djent.. lol im so tired of that freakin word

  • Sem comentários...AAL é incrível!

  • great track!

  • @temporaryonesix well in the original it was spelled "gentle", so...

  • 1:15 = begins the orgasm

  • @princeLaharl1 Pretty sure the orgasm begins at 0:00

  • I am very pleased with the spelling of 'Gently' they've chosen. I'd loose a bit of respect if they opted for that banal neologism.

  • fuck you disney world

  • I feel like I've just transcended into Nirvana. Complete Joy.

  • @infamousforareason almost thought you were talking about the band, but I caught myself in time.

  • @GreenMeep Haha.

  • SO GOOD

  • @screen88xxfftt i see what you did there

  • sounds more djent than progressive to me.. and so the argument continues...

  • EVERYONE its "Do Not Go Progressively"

  • I love this song. If it were possible to marry a sound recording, I would marry this song. And we would have triplets. Lots of 'em.

  • Progressive not djent.

  • @EpiicDeMiiC How do yu not know that animals as leaders is one of the first bands to start using the djent style?

  • Comment removed

  • @Zigzagstroker djent is just a heavy palm muted cord lol, its just a label some group of gave progressive bands. Its not its own style but just a sound a guitar makes but if it makes people feel better by calling it djent go for it.

Please explain how its NOT Progressive and how its different from Prog in its own way, other than using a different guitar sound lol. ( how it the play style different)

  • @EpiicDeMiiC Do Not Go Progressively then...

  • 240p for personal safety

  • you're so lucky your channel hasn't been taken down! I posted the entire album with all copyright rights covered, etc, the hour after the album went live, and damn youtube took it down!!!!

  • @prometheusconquers Fuck em

  • @NFCButtrubb3d tell me about it. i had like 50 videos with a solid sub base all of prog/djent and now its all gone! Makes me so mad!

  • why the fuck is this song so short? fml

  • Spelled wrong in the title, fixed in the description

  • Polyorgasm, haha; nice tag dude.

  • I really don't like this as much as the first effort with Misha.

  • @Megadedly That's cool. :) I actually prefer this installment. It's more jazz and a little less metal. But I think I'd listen to them for different reasons, as a drummer I prefer the first album but IMO this album is superior.

In the end I like that they're different!

  • @FatalCroissant This album to me just seems a bit more sloppy :P.

  • satriani meets meshuggah!!!!!!!!

  • hail to meshuggah.......

  • fuckin' tone music!

  • Tosin Abasi is a guitar god!!

  • fucking sweet!! :)

  • We should search "Do Not Go Djently" every time we want to listen to this to make it distinct from the other results in the suggestions

  • this makes me want to bake cookies.

  • Do Not Go Djently

  • @ItsMrWinters thats what i was thinking when i saw the track list a couple weeks ago haha im gonna see them with tesseract and BTBAM on friday

  • @nickRnun niice man

  • @ItsMrWinters I thought of that once I saw the title of the song and thought "wow i'm clever, i'll bet i'll get highest rated comment".

  • @RyNDonLE thats what you thought? lol, stop being like every other envying youtuber. i saw the vid, watched it for 30 seconds and then i realised something was wrong, and that gently had a dj sound in it and so i stated the obvious. Pretty simple if you ask me. If you thought you were to get highest comment then you must have low-self esteem to need thumbs up to feel good. I'd reccomend you to see a psychiatrist.

  • @ItsMrWinters Dude whats your deal? I was just joking about how I thought I was clever but like, 20 people beat me to the obvious djent joke. You really think I give a shit about highest rated comment?

  • @RyNDonLE seemed like you were trying to offend me so i returned an answer.

  • @ItsMrWinters This is the reason we invented smileys. :D

  • @ItsMrWinters Seems like you should see the psychiatrist first. Just sayin...

  • @ItsMrWinters Someone didn't take the joke very... DJENTLY - YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!!!

  • @walrusfetuses you forgot to put sunglasses on ):

  • @ItsMrWinters haha first thing I thought when I heard the name of this song

  • @ItsMrWinters Go djently.

  • @ItsMrWinters This is not djent.

  • @infamousforareason "Djent, in its original meaning, is a heavily digitally processed power chord, and is the name for an elastic, syncopated guitar riff. Djent as a style has been described as featuring heavily palm-muted, distorted guitar chords alongside virtuoso soloing, and is characterized by rhythmic complexity and palm-muted riffing." hmmm?

  • @DDball Even if AAL has some traces of djent it is mostly progressive melodic metal than anything. Compared big djent bands you see very little resemblance.

  • @ItsMrWinters Except it isnt "djent". If it had shit sounding girly vocals than MAYBE.

  • @dMoniker People like you have ruined the word djent

  • @cssmike what are you on about....

  • @dMoniker ?? Djent literally refers to the guitar tone. It is djent.

  • @MrStupitube Most retarded "genre" ever. Kids these days wha.

  • @dMoniker meshuggah pretty much lead the way for djent. girly vocals?

  • @896748rhjbasgjjgankl Meshuggah were formed LONG before all you cool kids started buying into this "djent" thing. Now theres a fuckin ton of copy cat bands doing the rounds, basing everything they do on break downs, tone and un-inspired riffs. This fad will be over soon and all these shit djent bands will be forgotten about but Meshuggah will still be going strong! AND Animals as Leaders...i hope :-)

  • @ItsMrWinters epic comment

  • Thanks for puttin' it up man, tis a bitchin song.
