This was not their best performance, but Regine and Lani still did BETTER than most singers who covered these songs. (Look for their other videos where they sang them BEST.) Regine's SOLID chest voice is definitely BETTER than Mariah's awfully BREATHY vocals. The only "karaokeish" was Mariah's "I'll Be There" performance at MJ's funeral. MC almost CHOKED TO DEATH there. Obviously, Regine was very careful from not upstaging Lani but as always, Regine ended this segment with a HIGH NOTE. :)

When Regine went to the butterfly climax, she handled it with great control, but obviously her tonality lost its balance...She also had a problem with the tempo and diction...at 0:38 HURT, really awful.
When she sang HERO, omg, she murdered it in terms of diction and transition...she started it okey, but when the climax came in. ugh, her chest can't handle those solid yet resonated angelic voice of Mariah...at 4:50 KAST your fears aside..lol...

Lani sang it so well... It was as if it was her own. As for the other, Mariah songs became too throaty and shrill... Mariah's version is always smooth and sweet to the ears. Regine made it too shrill and throaty.

i haven't heard lani for a while. it's interesting to hear her belt with full voice now. she usually uses falsetto and she seemed more careful when does scatting..though she got more vibratto. that's nice about these two singers, they don't use ear monitors, proves they have good ears, very important to any singers. This is way better than their version in San Francisco.

This was not their best performance, but Regine and Lani still did BETTER than most singers who covered these songs. (Look for their other videos where they sang them BEST.) Regine's SOLID chest voice is definitely BETTER than Mariah's awfully BREATHY vocals. The only "karaokeish" was Mariah's "I'll Be There" performance at MJ's funeral. MC almost CHOKED TO DEATH there. Obviously, Regine was very careful from not upstaging Lani but as always, Regine ended this segment with a HIGH NOTE. :)

Both did a karaokeish version.
When Regine went to the butterfly climax, she handled it with great control, but obviously her tonality lost its balance...She also had a problem with the tempo and diction...at 0:38 HURT, really awful.
When she sang HERO, omg, she murdered it in terms of diction and transition...she started it okey, but when the climax came in. ugh, her chest can't handle those solid yet resonated angelic voice of Mariah...at 4:50 KAST your fears aside..lol...

Lani sang it so well... It was as if it was her own. As for the other, Mariah songs became too throaty and shrill... Mariah's version is always smooth and sweet to the ears. Regine made it too shrill and throaty.

Smart people go for Regs coz she has got the A and B crowd while lani has got only the you know lowest bracket coz her style is old old school. i haven't heard lani for a while. it's interesting to hear her belt with full voice now. she usually uses falsetto and she seemed more careful when does scatting..though she got more vibratto. that's nice about these two singers, they don't use ear monitors, proves they have good ears, very important to any singers. This is way better than their version in San Francisco.
