  • Im not knowledgeable on swords, but can you explain what the number of layers mean and what the grade number means and all that?

  • @XxXedig21XxX ..With the advent of search engines such as "GOOGLE" and so on and so forth, if you can't find the answer to your question with ten minutes of effort, then you shouldn't own a sharp katana sword. Haz

  • you say it has no soft iron core..... im not fully educated on this... but would that mean it wouldnt obsorb shock???

  • @DJJimCowley ...This sword...although gone into the hands of another owner...is comprised of two high carbon steels...and it was clay tempered to provide a more flexible spine to absorb the dynamic loads realized by the cutting edge during tameshigiri or in the worse case, combat. I wouldn't own a blade with a soft iron core if my life depended on it (in my humble opinion). Your friend,

    Haz

  • @Hazamayakiba Ah yes.... thats great haz i am now educated on the two carbon steel design :)

  • so...damn sexy!

  • PearlFighter, that's the same thing Angelina said to me when she saw it ! Ha Ha Ha

  • @Hazamayakiba , what can i say its amazingly beautiful, just stunning.

  • I bow to you PearlFighter and send you 1000 Gold Shurikens !

  • lovely looking weapon.

  • FlyngSnow...I appreciate your comment and wish for you a safe, prosperous & Happy New Year !

  • @Hazamayakiba - this blade is in the uno-kubi zukuri suhgata - or cormarants neck style , very rare to find an example as nice as this in the production sword world - very well done Haz :-)

Its a style that was popular in the nambokucho sword era - big , beefy blades of different sughata like this one - I love it.

BTW - the traditionalists among us love a no frills tsuba like this one LOL

  • DoodSkateCo...thank you very much for commenting. I like your channel !!! ~Peace Haz

  • Hey Haz,

sorry if your confused from the last e-mail. My first named is will. I simply go by my middle name. (Ben)

I look forward to seeing this sword!

  • I know its a plain tsuba. That's what I like about the blade. It suggest that the sword has need decoration because it is, after all, a sword and was meant to be used as a weapon. It is somewhat reminiscent of the brutality of war. A bit intimidating if you ask me.
