PC started it all, but remember, even though many people play on the console and handheld games. Either way, we are all gamers. Sooner or later, developers will destroy all of us. Maybe not all, but look at what Infinity Ward and Activision has done. The demo is out for BFBC2 and its gonna end the 29th of Feb so be quick to DL on XBL or PSN. Also i think it aint that good. I prefer MW2 from the demo of it. Ofcourse the original will be better than the demo but it doesnt feel right to be honest. Its more Halo MW2 mixed but it aint my cuppa!

DRM is less of an issue and the market is more female-friendly, as well.

As for console piracy being an easy thing, regardless of how tech-savvy you might be personally and whether or not you think it's some simple thing to pirate games on consoles, most console gamers wouldn't know jack shit about game cracking and getting around DRM if you put a gun to their heads. It's simply not that big of a deal as it is with the PC. That's why we're being left in the lurch.

A bunch of rotten, two-faced bastards, and they've made themselves the biggest success story (being bigger than Nintendo now) in the video game industry by exploiting both customers and developers alike. Generally, they have to sign agreement clauses if the want somebody like EA to finance them and handle their marketing and distribution. Clauses like extra DLC.

Its far cheaper to develop for the PC than it is for consoles. The PC will continue to get great games. Most big development teams (BioWare,Infinity Ward,DICE,etc) got started on the PC. People have been saying PC gaming was going away since 2003 and its still around . It isn't "migrating" it is staying exactly the same as it always has been. New developers will come along and replace the ones who move to PC just like they always have.
As far as PC gaming not being profitable? Look at Blizzard,DICE,Valve,Crytek,Red Studio,GSC Gameworld,Bohemia Interactive Studio,The Creative Assembly and dozens of smaller dev teams that have relied on the PC as their main fanbase for a long time. Even Infinity Ward recently showed off numbers regarding how well MW2 sold on PC. Consoles aren't going to take away from PC gaming seeing as most Console gamers wouldn't game on PC anyway. The PC gaming market isn't changing at all.
Valve may be porting their games to the consoles, but they still make PC have the much higher advantage. They know what will happen if they were to totally screw with the PC community. For example, look at TF2. Have you seen TF2 for the 360? It's a total joke.

PC started it all, but remember, even though many people play on the console and handheld games. Either way, we are all gamers. Sooner or later, developers will destroy all of us. Maybe not all, but look at what Infinity Ward and Activision has done. The demo is out for BFBC2 and its gonna end the 29th of Feb so be quick to DL on XBL or PSN. Also i think it aint that good. I prefer MW2 from the demo of it. Ofcourse the original will be better than the demo but it doesnt feel right to be honest. Its more Halo MW2 mixed but it aint my cuppa!

@unrealriot PC piracy averages above 70% over the entire market. Given the publisher's take and marketing, it's hard to see how a developing company could turn a profit off of the remaining 30% of us that actually purchase PC games. I'm not at all surprised that developers want to leave us in the dust. Console piracy, by comparison, is notoriously difficult to achieve by anybody but the most tech-savvy and ardent pirates. DRM is less of an issue and the market is more female-friendly, as well.

@HowDyaYouLikeMeNow How is DRM less of the issue? Last time I checked DRM caused customers to be treated as pirates. Ubisoft DRM had punished customers because it needs a constant internet connection. Even though they have a good internet connection, they were still facing problems with the DRM. What if Ubisoft servers go down? How can they play? The only thing they can play on is using the cracked version, even though they bought it.

@unrealriot You misunderstood. DRM is not an issue on CONSOLES, whereas it's a constant issue on PCs. As for console piracy being an easy thing, regardless of how tech-savvy you might be personally and whether or not you think it's some simple thing to pirate games on consoles, most console gamers wouldn't know jack shit about game cracking and getting around DRM if you put a gun to their heads. It's simply not that big of a deal as it is with the PC. That's why we're being left in the lurch.

I'm as angry at my fellow gamers for exploiting piracy as I am at the developers for treating all of us all like criminals for the actions of others. It's a vicious cycle. A bunch of rotten, two-faced bastards, and they've made themselves the biggest success story (being bigger than Nintendo now) in the video game industry by exploiting both customers and developers alike. The developers don't make the choice to sell portions of the game separately. Generally, they have to sign agreement clauses if the want somebody like EA to finance them and handle their marketing and distribution. Clauses like extra DLC.

I really hope developers would go to publishers(Valve, THQ, 2K, Sega(I think), Blizzard) who support PC gaming. BTW, EA HQ is like 5 miles away from my house.

Publishers are wasting money and time to combat piracy rather than focus on quality of the game. Valve and Blizzard isn't worried about this because they know how to analyze piracy well then other developers.

I don't condone piracy, but what developers/publishers failed is that they don't care about customer service, don't care about quality of game, and don't care about people facing difficulties with DRMs. They'll use piracy as an excuse, which is pathetic.

@unrealriot Dying out was a bad word, migrating is a better word, as you may have noticed there are next to no PC exclusive games any more, they all either come out at the same time or later. This is because for the average household, more will have a XBOX as a pose to gaming pc for instance.

@jennonf Steam/Valve are one of the only companies left that make PC exclusive games, but even now are migrating most of their major titles to consoles as well. Furthermore most PC games are actually based around their console counterparts now, like I said before, it is not worth the extra cost to fund a non-profitable market, so why bother? Its simple economics really. MMORPGs are likely to migrate to Consoles as well NCSoft last year signed a deal with Sony to make some stuff for the PS3

Its far cheaper to develop for the PC than it is for consoles. The PC will continue to get great games. Most big development teams (BioWare,Infinity Ward,DICE,etc) got started on the PC. People have been saying PC gaming was going away since 2003 and its still around . It isn't "migrating" it is staying exactly the same as it always has been. New developers will come along and replace the ones who move to PC just like they always have.

As far as PC gaming not being profitable? Look at Blizzard,DICE,Valve,Crytek,Red Studio,GSC Gameworld,Bohemia Interactive Studio,The Creative Assembly and dozens of smaller dev teams that have relied on the PC as their main fanbase for a long time. Even Infinity Ward recently showed off numbers regarding how well MW2 sold on PC. Consoles aren't going to take away from PC gaming seeing as most Console gamers wouldn't game on PC anyway. The PC gaming market isn't changing at all.

the sad part is, the pirated version can be played online with the people who brought the game. iwnet didn't elimiate piracy, infact it made it far worse. Before you still need a valid cd key to play online on proper servers...now there is none of that...
I fail to see how IWNET is superior to dedicated servers for the PC. Its fine on console as they are used to poor, latency/performance, but a pc is far superior to a console.

I have played both and must say Killzone 2' graphics are absolutely way better than Crysis' graphics. No I'm not a fanboy I hardly ever play my PS3 but I'm just saying. PC = no blue-ray. The Cryengine2 on consoles its a specific one... Its build upon the consoles limits, not the PC ones... If you watch video comparisons of the games youll notice that the Cryengine 1 on PC its very much more than the CE2 on consoles...
