  • I liked this very much. It would be great if other musicians gave similar presentations of their thoughts about what they were doing on record. Yuja Wang is delightful as a performer and as a personality.

  • Apart from Yuja Wang being great pianist she is musically educating, I love the way she talks about music

  • So much silly bile toward a wonderful and serious young musician-how sad. No--DG was ALWAYS into marketing--you just do not like who they market. Yuja Wang is a superb talent and will grow and prosper whether silly marketing like these promo's happen or not....

  • @handycappo And you write like a dumb....well-whatever you are! Oh yes-a little helpful advice-if you want to be taken seriously and as having half a brain-prejudiced as your's is-learn to spell the object of your prejudice properly!!! It's "American" nimrod, not "amarican". LOL

  • I still remember the times when Deutsche Grammophon was a fine, serious label, only committed to doing justice to the music. Nowadays it has turned into marketing crap...

  • She doesn't look like ELVIS, THE K I N G ...

  • Yuja sounds like shes reading from a DG script or something.... and Petrushka is not by Nijinsky. She plays well, but this kinda of marketing is offputting

  • She said, "Brahms is a prismatic kaleidoscope." 2:50. A poet too.

  • Her left hand at 1:36. I LOVE it.

  • I'm proud to have bought this album as soon as I heard it. Yuja Wang is my favorite pianist! Wonderful playing.

  • Ye Gods.... those few glimpses of the Brahms-Paganini are simply astounding... every pianist I've heard since Geza Anda in 1954 who has managed to conquer this tremendous masterpiece from one of Busoni's 5 greatest post-Beethoven piano composers, every one has to cede second fiddle ... these snippets from Yuja Wang's stunning interpretation demand we hear her entire performance above all others

Amazing, astounding.... astonishing.... mere.... words....we must hear her again....and again... ;-)

  • thanks for sharing your inspirations thru your music. You truly are a genius in paino...10/10..bravo..

  • "...the extremity of human emotion." i guess you can say it's like wearing one's heart on one's sleeve.

  • love this girl,,best pianist for me!!! :

  • Yuja has it all; blazing technique, immaculate timing, beautiful tone and color, and a musical heart - such a genius!

As for you, "Gouloum" - drop the pretentious holier than thou act, you're an idiot when it comes to pianists (in this case I do feel qualified to make that comment as I'm a concert pianist)...calling Richter a clown is insufferably ignorant.

  • Excellent interview!

  • LOL.. hehehe never thought in my life i would ever hear anything like Richter referred to as a "clown":D. How can WaldemarKoszlowsky even mention Gould in and refer to Richter as a clown. Gould had very high thoughts of Richter. Well, you have a very odd perspective of things but every1 is entitled to think what they want to.LOLXD.

  • Well, for what it is worth, Yuja sounds like a genius to me when she plays.

  • Absolutely amazing! Petrushka is one hell of a composer, extremely difficult as themes bounce all over within the orchestra, however the way you transcribed it to piano is genius!

Where can we find your new album? I clicked on your link, but only your first album is available.

    Good work!

  • @musico81986 Petrushka is the work not the composer, he happens to be Brahms.

  • @meredith218461 Petrushka is by Brahms? ahh, there is no end to the ignorance.

  • @mikejr41387 I willingly conceed to making an error, Stravinsky of course was who I meant. Before you level the charge of ''ignorance'' against me I would like to say that I am a practising musician/pianist who enjoys participating in chamber music and accompanying various soloists. I must have mistakenly had Yuga Wangs following clip of the Brahms/Paganini variations in mind when replying to musico81986.

Incidentally what a superb pianist this young woman is!.

  • @meredith218461 you're right, it was a bit pretentious of me to accuse you of ignorance. Sometimes its hard to tell here on yt!

  • @mikejr41387 No worries, just wanted to put you in the picture.

  • Drop dead gorgeous!

  • she's overclocked =)

  • Transformation... I would call it rather "transcendation"

  • Yuja Wang is a genius. She has boundless passion, imagination and electricity in her fingers, a phenomenal modern piano technique and is, above all, a true artist.

  • Yuja Wang is certainly a young pianist with a remarkable technique. To all detractors of Miss Wang it should be pointed out that she is still quite young only about 21. People develop and grow over time and Yuja Wang should certainly be allowed to develop. Even if now she has not yet reached the same heights as other pianists (I have not heard her play Beethoven for example) she should be given the space to develop her remarkable talent.

  • She's simply radiant!

  • Good manegers had transformed her life not music! She is not a pianist, she makes only show!

  • @WaldemarKoszlowsky I think your arguement makes SOOOO much sense with immaculate evidence now, doesn't it? :D just sayin'

  • @WaldemarKoszlowsky When she came from China she hadn´t a management and was at this time already an excellent pianist. Where is the show in her performances? I can not see it. The people love her Mozart/Volodos encores but she can play sensible and slow pieces as well. She is one of the greatest pianists in the world - ask some conductors about it!

  • again you ! i think your have a wrong idea of what is a pianist.

  • @gouloum2222 Listen to Backhaus, Gilels or Gould, they were Pianists!

  • @WaldemarKoszlowsky They were pianists like this wonderful interpreter.Every true artist has a different, strong personality and everytime gives a different, brilliant performances.Past, present and future about everythink.

  • @WaldemarKoszlowsky no you didn't understand my point, i wasn't asking you to make a list of all the pianists you judge interesting to listen to. i am afraid you are way too subjective, and unable to recognise real talent. it's a pity, really...

  • @WaldemarKoszlowsky shut the f up and keep it to yourself whenever you think that someone is a clown. Cause you are the one who will end up being a clown.

  • @WaldemarKoszlowsky: Argerich, Yuja, Cziffra, and RICHTER clowns? You have to be kidding. Granted Lang Lang, is a clown, but one of the more successful ones.

  • @WaldemarKoszlowsky and so ??? they are not the 3 only pianists who have ever lived.
