Magnets can push and pull one another its a fact. All is needed is for the correct design to enable efficient spin. There are Neo magnets capable of holding their magnetic powers for 10,000 plus years. So a magnet motor is possible to supply energy for free for a very long time. Also is possible to be strong enough to run vehicles.

I am trying a similar experiment. In my understanding, you should be able to make a magnetic motor if you overcome the magnetic dip between adjacent magnets.

The gap between the magnets creates a magnetic vaccum where the external magnetics are attracted to rest because they are being pushed out from both sides of the magnets.

So "Magnetic Shielding" is required to channel the magnetic flux into right shape to ensure that magnets do not have repulsion/attraction on the back sides.

Ye man. Not wanting to sound big headded but that was the first thing i wondered about it and then noticed. They have to be set so one of the rotors and one of the stator are pushing to put the others in place otherwise they will all just act like break. If they are (like you said) out of phase then it throws them off balance and the only thing for them to do is repel and then spin. Bet it's WELL annoying though getting it right!

Shields have to be made of magnetic material otherwise they are not shields. Aluminium is not magnetic, therefore it is not a shield.

Shields don't help as the repelling force of magnets equals the attracting force - so there is no net difference. That is why you can turn these "motors" in either direction and they require the same effort.

This is all common sense stuff. Rare around here though.

Hey, multiuser, I thought up a similar device that used electromagnets and reedswitches, so you can trigger the EMs at just the right time so there would be little or no magnetic resistance on the upspin and only magnetic push on the downspin. I haven't built it yet, so I don't know if the EMs will use more power then the device could produce, but if you were to try it, I would reduce the number of neodymium bar magnets to 2 or 3 on wheel, so the reed switches and EMs are more effective.

I explain immediately: only with the magnets placed in that way, you can not create a torque on the stator. The torque is very important! Is the torque that allows the rotor to rotate. i think that on perendev working model magnets on the rotor were magnetized lenghtwise (the far ends) and on stator they were magnetized diametrically... and the rotor magnets were shielded - every magnet was in a piece of metal tube and then put on rotor, dont know about shielding the stator magnets.. and experiment with the stator-rotor gap: too close and they lockup in between the poles, too far and they wont spin..
