  • Miss: Methinks you worry too much about calories. If you avoid fried foods, load up on Veggies and fresh fruit.. and EXERCISE 40 mins a day.. YOU BE JUST FINE. and you are kind of lean.. Lucky you, b/c you have 8-10 lbs of 'Room' to gain

  • You are 28??!! I messed up the Math and thought you were 18. You are older than you look.

  • Wow you are so incredibly stupid....

  • Negative calorie foods are false. Look for a guy named EvilCyber. He has a good YouTube video on this fallacy.

  • Diet drinks usually have 0 calories. And thats because they are just chemicals. Nothing of real substance; nothing natural...

  • I learned in a class that if something has .5cals (or something like . something cals) they'll round down. But it's very low cals if it says 0 calories.

  • A calorie is the amount of energy it takes 1 gram of H2O to heat up 1 degree Celsius.

Or something like that, haven't taken biology in 3 years. lol

  • i agree with what that jasonguyperson said!

  • you seem to be confused about what a calorie is. yes all food is made of something which contains energy but some foods (ones with 0 calories) don't give humans any useable energy and so they have zero calories.

and you asked for it: it's because you're blonde! xP

  • lmao!~!~!~

    agreed

  • I think she is doing Ritalan or Adderell

  • take it easy on the diet drinks, there's this component calles "aespertane".. i think, something like that, which has been associated with mental problems.. google it.. but basically, don't rely on diet drinks, particularly not diet coke.

  • Booo. I didnt even finish watching. You dont know what youre talking about and its hard to listen to you.

Calories ARE energy. A food with 10 calories that takes your body 25 calories to burn leaves you with a negative.

Simple and effective, but not entirely healthy.

  • it's true. We use energy to chew.

  • hahaha sheep2slaughter is right and funny too!

  • leafy veggies and yes celery can take more calories to digest than what is in the food. The reason zero calories are bad is because it's sweet and it fools your brain. Google that.

  • hey girl you don't need to be concerned with calories - you look perfect.

  • lISTEN WHAT EVER WE CANNOT DIGEST CANNOT BECOME CALORIES AS WE ONLY GET THEM FROM CERTAIN FATTY ACIDS PROTEINS AND STARCHY GLUCOSE THE REST IS WASTE (THE HOLE POINT OF DIGESTION)

  • water has 0 calories

  • DUDE.

    HAVE YOU HEARD OF WATER?

    IT HAS NO CALORIES. :)

BTW. What is this about? I have an ed and i thought this was a waste of time, so i didn't finish watching it. NO OFFENSE OK?

  • That's b/c it's a LIE. The USDA allows companys to say something is 0 if it is 5 calories or less. So, therefore, it has calories.

  • oh em eff gee dude? trollzes? N3gative Cal0r1es?? WTfz?!

this is a completely pointless rant. you could have done the research yourself and saved me 10 minutes of complaining.

    I bestow a single star. :[

  • your not paranoid or crazy now that you mention it makes no sense to me

  • You only get calories from foods which can be broken down for energy in your body (fats, carbohydrates, proteins and alcohol). Celery is mainly water, and I think it has cellulose which cant be digested and broken down by the body.

  • diet drinks don't have calories but can cause cancer because of damn chemicals

  • brown guy? do u not know the correct term?

  • It just means that something has no energy.. calories are a measurement of energy.

  • the simplest explanation is your body is a fire and celerey is wet carpet. where as pure shugar is petrol.

If something has 0 calories, basicly it doesnt burn.

  • but wont hunger stop you from burning more calories than you take in? if you burn all the calories you consume, isnt that how you get hungry?

  • A "calorie" is how much energy it takes to heat 1 liter of water by 1 degree. So a "calorie" is a measure of energy.

Only 4 substances provide substrates through which the body can act on to generate energy: proteins, carbs, fats, alcohol. 1 gram = 4,4,9, and 7 calories of each, respectively. Diet coke is made of water and chemicals - these chemicals do not provide your body with any usable form of energy.

    Does that make sense?

  • Protein breaks down into amino acids, each of which can be then broken down by gluconeogenesis to form glucose, which is transported into the cell to continue ATP synthesis which is needed for metabolic functions.

    Ditto on carbs.

Fats are broken down into their basic constituents which go through a similar process as amino acids. These all provide energy for your body to move. The chemicals on your ice breakers do not.

  • You will not die from drinking diet soda. Aspartame, which is the primary sweetener found in most diet drinks, has displayed carcinogenic properties in clinical studies. This means it causes cancer - HOWEVER, the amount of aspartame needed to increase cancer rates in the studies performed was astronomical - you'd have to drink 10 of those a day, every day forever to get the aspartame needed to cause cancer.

  • The studies also do not take into account other anticarcinogen and antioxidants that might be in your diet.

  • water(0) diet coke (1 cal) per cup(8.1oz); diet coke 1 bottle (1 pint 4 fl oz)= 2 cals....remember EVERYONE LIES, EVERYONE....the government.....lies!

  • water is pure 0 calories. Nothing is in it, no energy at all. Product of nature, you body consist of more than 60% out of water. Diet Coke has 0 calories, but technically it's around 0,8 calories. But you can't drink enough diet coke to get fat, because you will feel " full " b4 you can ever get fat of it. But drinking water is always best. Did our ancestors 10,000 years ago have diet Coke ?

  • dumb blonde... celluose can't be broken down

  • Wow, your blondness is astounding. Not trying to be a troll here, but seriously, how can you make it into college without even the slightest knowledge of biology? They still teach this in highschool, right?

  • Ok, so if someone isn't educated about something, don't your time and their time making fun of them, just educate them. Smartass.

  • and u got into college.....how again? it took 9 min for that..good god.

  • yes i did and i took bio as a sophomore. Obviousely math/science was never a strong point of mine

  • You can only get calories from alcohol, fat, and carbohydrates (which include sugars). Fiber has calories, but our body can't break it down to use them. So on Labels it will say 0 calories. Water has no calories as well because it has no energy. If your body can't break it down, then you get no calories from it!

  • That's absolutely right but don't 4get protein also has just as much calories as carbs

  • Ill tell you what - when you have a question like this - look it up! - you make your self to look like an idiot when asking questions in this way.

  • OK, to the maker of this video, YOU NEED TO STAY IN SCHOOL TOO! Aspartame and other such artificial sugars, are made of such remarkably crazy chemicals that the amount that is needed to flavor something is less than 1 cal per serving, scary.

  • MORE BARFING LESS TALKING!

  • ...i cant barf ... i wish i could! i try and try,,but it wont come out. any ideas?

  • look up "ronders" on encyclopediadramatica com

  • Like, you like, bore me with randomness and stuff, you know? and like, your voice SUPER annoys me, like, I was totally irritated before you even went into valgal mode, you know, cause like, you have a high pitched scratchy voice that like, just GRATES, ya know?

  • "Like, how does it HAVE zero calories?"

Like, how did you ever GET into college?

  • Oh my god you're like, so, like, you know, so annoying!! But whatever. Like it's okay. You know?

  • Some things can have no calories i.e diet pop because; it is made up of chemicals. There is no nutrition (food) in it.

  • But gasoline is made of chemicals, and it has like, 11kcal per pound -EVEN MOAR THAN FAT!- Whoa!!! So you gotta be careful there, some chemicals are like SUPER SUPER full of calories!

  • umm, it doesn't really matter if your body can't absorb those chemicals as nutrients. Stay in school!

  • Thats silly. It matters a hell of a lot to anyone who expects to be able to actually drive somewhere. Its you who spend good money on worthless things that just deceive you into consuming even more who need a clue check.

  • my post was in regards to consumption of said chemicals, it's not like you will drink the same fuel you put in your car, and I don't really get the comment about spending money on useless things, especially since I never eat/drink anything with artificial sugars because they are not benificial to your health in any way.

  • Ahhh, but I might, if this whole "ethanol fuel" stuff gets moar popular!

  • the people who rank the sites etc i think get it from how many members and guests visit the sites. the one that is visited the most will be number one

  • hey!

I have an e.d. also ...but with the diet soda thing, the main reason why it doesnt have calories is b/c its carbonated and carbonation is air. lol also the reason why things say "no calories" are because human bodies take more energy to burn them than to eat them. Oh yea i just wanted to tell everyone that if u drink diet soda everyday that the chemicals inside the soda will cause the calcium in the bones to weaken :(

    much love<3

  • Hello There I suffer with anorexia nervosa and depression. I been there myself who is male 6 ft 3 9 stone 3 = 129 ibs 4 year ago that was i want in eating disorder clinic for 2 years that time, i still having problems now with it all, i dont know anyone male who had this problem like me, if you know anyone or friends or family has problem please can you help me thought this and i need more support on this matter. my email is stewartyoung1982@hotmail. c o m

  • somethings aren't digestible, If you eat a piece of plastic for example it will just come out the other end. A calorie is a of measurement or energy and nutrition facts post calories as the amount of energy your body is able to extract, your digestive system can't break down a lot of things so they don't matter. Artificial sweeteners are extremely sweet so you use very little of them and they don't contain a lot of energy that's why diet sodas are zero calories. Hope this helps.

  • Polyethylene has loads of calories per gram!

  • well..diet coke has less than 1 cals....!!idk if it's true!!

  • haha i dont think you're annoying at all (which is what the last person said) but yea i think you're wicked funny and interesting

  • your so annoying but ill tell you anyways ...

basically it takes more calories to digest it than it contains ...so there is nothing with zero calories but there is negative calories ...most food it takes 30 calories to digest it so if lettuce has 10 calories you've basically lost calories not gained them okayy ??

your voice is sooo irrating hopefully you wont speak again

  • Water has 0 calories.....

  • I understand the zero/negative calorie concept but I don't believe in it. A calorie is a calorie no matter how much energy your body uses to metabolize it. Besides, I think most can agree that if something other than water has too litte calories to be nutritionally significant it's probably something you shouldn't be eating/drinking anyway, har har.

  • A calorie is a unit of energy, you realize that right? It's no theory it is scientific fact, your body uses more energy (calories) to push the celery through your system than the number of calories that you will absorb, it's not rocket science.

  • yeah it is not rocket science - but no one will ever listen to you if you have an attitude when trying to explain something.

  • Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi supposedly has about 1 calorie per can. That being said, aspartame goes through the body unmetabolized, and Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi have caffeine, which is a metabolism booster, so it seems entirely plausible to me that it might only have a few calories per can.

  • You cant have a zero Calorie,,, your body turns any more of sugar/chemicals even natural food,, your body turn any form or "energy" in food to energy your body uses and burns

  • My thing is...I read something somewhere that said that the sweet taste, even if it doesn't have sugar in it, makes your insulin or blood sugar or something do something to make your metabolism slow down and store fat. I wish I could find that article...but yeah, I think about this stuff too.

  • I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THIS SHIT! Woohoo!

  • I believe negative calories but they should still be counted... like if a piece of pizza was 150 calories and 30 calories were taken away while you were digesting it you wouldn't know. I don't know how to explain it but w/e

  • Aw, honey, are you that obsessed??? You need to get some help. If you are going to obsess over a stalk of celery, you need to talk to a couselor about it - not YouTube.

  • Why do you go on about pointless things? Who cares about your hair.

  • well no on probbly, and who should? sometimes i just go off on things that really dont matter. i'm human

  • a negative calorie is something that requires alot of energy to break down and you end up loosing energy!! celery is a neg cal.. and so are cold diet drinks becasue your body tries to keep warm... umm... are u ana or do u have an ed .. or ednos or anamia?? what is it that u have? hope its not for attention.. anorexia is not a choice .... but goodluck

  • who cares about your hair??

    this is soo pointless... ha.

  • lol, im working towards a bachelor of science,i can see how it doesnt make sense, the public makes no effort to explain this stuff to consumers.i wont explain it lol, cause i thats weird, but pretty much chemicals are technically not meant for human cosumption, but dont worry i mean the fda approves them, they cant kill u at all and in such small amounts they can have like no harm. but since they're not meant to be injested, they dont have the properties of food, like nutritional value..

  • If you can't digest the "something" you cannot gain weight. Sugar substitutes are still sugar, thay are chemically a mirror image of natural sugars like sucrose. You need enzymes to process them, and since the enzymes are not shaped to break down fake sugars, they just go through you. No effect, like a diamond.

  • water. :)

  • Basically, calories = energy. The only nutrients that contribute energy/caalories are carbohydrates, protein and fat (and alcohol). Normal, non-diet soft drinks contain real sugar, which is a carbohydrate. Since diet drinks don't contain real sugar (they have aspartame or other sugar alcohols, which are not considered carbs), and they don't contain any fat or protein, they don't contribute any calories. So, that's why you can have a product with zero calories.

  • Aspartine is meant to contribute to so many health problems. This is the reason its best to stay clear of Diet Coke.

  • If there are no proteins, carbohydrates or fats in a food then it is of no nutritional value to your body and your body can obtain no energy from it. So coke zero has no calories because it contains no carbs, fats or proteins and is therefore nutritionally void.

  • what? no goldfish? :P

  • companies are allowed to round calories, so if it has five and under they are allowed to put zero... also, like pam cooking spray 1/3 a spray is rounded to zero, but 1 second is really 10 calories!!! ive read this from the hungry girl website...

  • haha, the stuff about 0 and negative calories is such an in-depth typical ed'd debate! Not laughing at you, I've debaed long and hard about the same/similar thing lol.

Your hair looks pretty when you wear it down

    x

  • i've always doubted this.

  • I'll try to explain it simply, since we don't get much space... Even though stuff like diet drinks we consider "food", they really aren't. They are just chemicals that our bodies can't process, so they are zero calories. In order for something to be considered a calorie, it has to be able to be burned by our bodies. And yes, the labels ARE allowed to round down if a portion has like .5 calories. Hope this helps.

  • I think your hair looks really nice down.

  • = ) thanks. sometimes its just a process though cause i have to wear it up all day and after classes are done i have hmwk to do. whats the point in straitening it to go to the library and do hmwk?

  • there has to be some scientific way to find out how many calories it takes to burn a certain food item...

  • lol, no prob. I know a couple of boards that i've visted we've been having this same debate. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

  • notice the careful none goldfish cam positioning =P

  • lol, thats cause i'm sick of people asking me why the goldfish are still there.

  • I love the stuff you talk about, it makes me feel not so alone. Thanx:) Cassa

  • can you say six videos a day?

more addictive then pepsi jazz? dont even think they have jazz in here in canada....

  • hey, my computer just got out of the shop so cut me a break. *lol* it usually wont be like this. Plus most of my videos were responses to other videos, not me just rambling about something.

  • why yes!! they do have pepsi jazz in canada...for at least the past month or so(well that's when i noticed it lol) check pharmaprix, or better known as shopper's drug mart in the rest of canada haha. :D

  • you sound like my sister abit...lol

  • In some online ed journals i've read, people write that diet coke or coke zero is 0 calories in their meal plan or whatever, but in Australia for 600mls of coke zero its 0.9cal and for diet coke its something like 3cals... when i heard that in some places they can say things are 0 cals when there under 5 cals, it made me really angry. grrr, lol :P

  • hmmm, i wonder if its made the same and america is just that "calorie worried" or what...

  • I agree with what your saying about these messageboards and stuff

  • i see where ure coming from...i think u do have a point...nuffin or no fud comes without calories...becos in my won knowledge everything u put in ure fud has got calories...
