Thanks for the information, but military recruiters have as much a right to be on campus as any civilian recruiter. Some people prefer the military lifestyle, and we should thank them for their sacrifice during a time of war. Ultra liberal feminists have demasculated U.S. men. Don't confuse the issues. Iraq is fought with a professional army. Viet Nam was conscription. No wonder there was this much dissent. And today, Iraq is NOT a total war. Jane Fonda doesn't have a leg to stand on today. Volonteers follow the rules of engagement and massacres are done by Sunni and Shia factions. Viet Nam is a whole other story in my opinion. I'm from Texas and a conservative - I don't necessarily agree with the war in Iraq, but I do believe we did a good deed by toppling Saddam Hussein's regime. We cannot simply pull out of the war, like it or not- to pull out would be the most damaging line of action to Iraq. As far as the numbers - every war has casualties. Millions died in WWII, and there wasn't media coverage such as television or internet updates hourly as events happen. Neikka, very good posts, by the way.

I have a friend who joined the army, and I considered it too, but wanted to work in engineering. I really respect the army. Wonder why most of all South America speaks spanish? It wasnt just cause misionsaries of religon... it was mostly due to the invaders. Let's take the British..who for hundreds of years wont get out of Ireland. A war that had gone on for roughly 900yrs there and all the Irish asked was for them to leave. 4.5 million Irish imigrated to the US because of this war.
