Your a bit of a spaz mate, and judging by the comments your getting no one else supports you. Walk, or move out of London, you cant ride around in the busiest city in the UK on a push bike (badly) and complain its dangerous. Do you have a car or bike licence? cos your understanding of the road is fairly poor. 0.39 proves this 1.09 backs it up 1.17 you pull out of the cycle lane without looking over your shoulder to abuse the taxi. Your a muppet and give many other riders a bad name. R.I.P. mate
fucking cyclists, think they can do whatever they want on the London streets, no respect to highway code whatsowever, jumping red light, not stopping for pedestrians at crossings...
P.s. You really seem to have quite an attitude with the other vehicles (pulling as close as you can to both taxis)... I wouldn't really like to see you in control of a car...
(This is from an avid cyclist and driving instructor)
hmm, you seem to think you're the king of the road, just cause Mr Johnson is trying to get people out of cars... Most situations could have been avoided by your own anticipation and planning, then only one that would have got me was the cyclist at the pedestrian crossing...
London is not meant for the cyclist, it has been shoehorned in just to avoid congestion, not because of any real desire to make it cycle friendly. All UK cities you can say the same about. Id say to my son 'be whatever you want to be but get out of my sight if you ever want to cycle innercity'
Wow- most of this is just really bad cycling. Overtaking buses on the inside, unnecessarily cycling right up to a clearly-u-turning-taxi or a taxi thats already half way pulled out. I'm a fellow London cyclist and agree with other comments that these situations could be avoided by a little more anticipation and common sense. I only hope the weight of opinion will prompt a change in attitude.
@DeathOnWheels1969 I don't think he/she was saying you can't ride...just that they thought you were at fault on some parts of video...not about who lives longer just about staying safe/alive as nobody wants anyone to get hurt where they at fault or not
@DeathOnWheels1969 You might be able to ride fast, that doesn't make you a pro london cyclist.... most of the stuff in this video could be avoided by understanding your surroundings. anticipation is the key. a cyclist once said to me, riding is a bit like walking through waterloo station in peak hour, if you can walk through without adjusting your stride to counter other peoples actions, then you are doing well
maybe you should use alternative transport. You dont seem to have the intelligence or the road sence necessary to ride a bike in a city.
If you dont assume someone is going to cross at a zebra crossing - where pedestrians have right of way you are obviously a moron.
Likewise - if you go up the inside of a bus in a bus lane while its stopped at a bus stop, you should at least expect passengers to be getting on / off the bus....
The bus had already dropped off and had moved off from the stop hence it's distance form the pavement. therefore the bus driver was in the WRONG for opeing his doors again and the pedestrian should of looked. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about.
The pedestrian should not have crossed - the lights were GREEN for me and all the traffic and the sign to tell pedestrians to STOP was RED and had been for some time.
Clearly you know nothing about riding a bike in a city noob.
Sorry but it seems you don't know what your on about actually. The bus may have dropped off its passengers already but it was still stationary in a bus stop (the yellow writing gives it away), it's therefore obliged to open it's doors to people who want to get on.
I didn't say anything about PELICAN crossings I talked about ZEBRA crossings, where pedestrians do have right of way at all times.
I may know nothing but it seems i still know more than you!
@spyder2001 "The bus may have dropped off its passengers already but it was still stationary in a bus stop (the yellow writing gives it away), it's therefore obliged to open it's doors to people who want to get on."
nope, it is not.
Do you live in London ? I expect not. If you do you don't know the law.
The busses CANNOT let passengers off then let more people on once they have performed that action at one stop. Check the law. Enjoy
I've lived in London my whole life. In my experience, if a bus is stopped in a bus stop and it can't move off due to a queue of traffic and you knock on the door in 99% of cases it will open it's doors for you.
I wasn't aware of any specific law saying they can't and as I'm not a bus driver and don't intend on becoming one I don't care what the law says or the fact that 99% of drivers break it. You should still expect people in the road at bus stops though.
@spyder2001 Yep, I agree. Most of these incidents are due to a lack of foresight by yourslef and general poor bike handling skills. The way you pull up to the silver taxi doing the u-turn is classic self-righteous cyclist behaviour. The blow out was god telling you to be a little more considerate.
1:00 what is that? You failed to maintain sufficient distance to the car in front of you. Why would you blame the car braking in front of you? I ride in London cycles and cars.
@Poland1st nope. the car in front was actually further away than it appeared. The reason I fell off was diesel / oil all over the road and the bike just sliiped from under me. The cyclist behind me came off too
You need to think about the upcoming hazards.... slow down for stuff coming out of side streets/crossings, be wary of pedestrians e.g. bus scene, crossing scene..... nothing to do with cycling, you have to look out for these things whether on a bicycle, motorbike or car anyways.
Your opinion is a bit short sighted. You should help and support getting more people on bikes. Instead you decided to complain about. Seize the moment and fight for improvents while the mayor in charge is listening.
You have a staggering lack of anticipation: it's like you're cycling autistic!
Don't filter left of buses you bloody idiot- what do buses do? turn left and pick people up.
the fact you've put this video up shows lack of self awareness: I'm NOT trolling I don't want to see anyone hurt that is all!
