your racks are set up wrong. A min of 3 racks should be banded together with chain top and bottom. Salutes in the front racks only. All failures get blown out the front away from the operator. Yours looked like a fence of mortar racks or somthing, not mortar banks. There is no stability there. If that rack that fell over wasnt empty already, then you would be shooting into someone or somthing. Im not trying to be a dick, Im just pointing out there is a better way.
We believe the lift charge was somehow compromised. It seemed like the shell only came out of the mortar a few feet, and landed on the ground. We were able to see the time fuse burning on the ground, and that's when we ran for it.
And yes, they were finale chains tied together with quick match. It's possible that the previous shell lifted it out of the mortar, but I think the lift charge would have then thrown it somewhere, other than right next to the rack.
wow that was teriffing dude such a dummer for the rack ???how much is the rack anyways???

If you had your mortar racks placed correctly, a failure wouldnt have been a problem. Do it right or dont do it at all.

How do you think it happened? Another shell may have lifted it out of the mortar. Were they finale chains?

Thanks for your comments!

Hey, I pointed it out, and told you to run! The video evidence clearly shows me pointing out the shell, and both of us taking off running.
