Felicity Huffman's performance in this movie was magnificent & the writing was superb.

I was nice to see some of my favorite trans actors, like Calpernia Adams, in the movie. She was rocking the house with the fiddle.

@PurplenovaX My feeling is that a mainstream actor was used to boost the movies marketability but I do agree that her performance was spot on. She portrayed every stress, every challenge, each action with the same reality that I experience in my life.

As much as I also would have liked for there to be a transexual playing the lead role, I am happy that this movie received as much publicity as it did. This way more people will have a real face to attach to us rather than a joke.

@Estrodile I'm 16, I'm not transgender, but my friend at school is. It's a shame that not many transgender people are represented in films....and when they are, they are often made as a joke...I think it's cool that movies like this can portray transgender people in a serious way. Hopefully more films about transgender people will come out (scuze the pun), after all, there has been a rise in gay films coming out, so hopefully there will for transgender people

Felicity is a beautiful woman, who plays a man, who want's to be a woman .. I don't know she plays a shemale, but she is doing an amazing job.

@Mariexb44 Please don't EVER use that "s" term again! Doing so instantly identifies you as having a negative prejudice towards transexuals. I understand you made this comment three years before this response to it, however I felt I should make you aware of the painful implications that word has for every transwoman.
