I went farther than 180 yards and an easy swing for him is still over 110+ mph. The launch angle isn't that high either.

@Jospehporta I doubt an easy swing with a short hybrid is that fast. I saw him unload on a 3 wood on youtube somewhere, and he had 116 miles per hour, and playing with phil, phil's clubhead speed was 115, also with a three wood.

The analyst doing the talk was so dead set on talking about how hard tiger hits it that he called phils 115 mile per hour swing "somewhat slower" than tiger's.

its an easy swing, and its not even his hybrid..he borrowed it from a playing partner....he probably took about a 50% swing and teed it high so it would go that far....granted he was still long

why would he hit a hybrid from 180yrds? He could have chosen to hit a 7 or an 8 iron, but a hybrid?

its a high cut, the way he hits his cuts are by moving the ball forward in his stance and closer to him. That's why it looks like a pull. It's a cut

@nikepumps123 no its just common sense by that that he plays a 7 iron 180, so i doubt that he would go up 5 clubs! the only way this would be possible for his club head speed would be to tee up the ball about 3 inches and swing up on it.

Oh my god! I was there in the crowd with my First Tee Junior Golf team we had a tournament at a course right next to Congressional! This was so funny he took Chris Rileys Hybrid hit it a mile high on purpose and simply said "I don't like it, it goes a bit too high for me" the crowd died laughing lol
